Matthew Goodgame (born February 21, 1963) is a Bloxstralian traveler, explorer, adventurer, and reporter, who has been serving as the 1st president of Neotopia since January 1, 2026.
Early life
Matthew Goodgame was born on February 21, 1963, in Bloxerth, the capital of Western Bloxstralia. He was the only child of John Goodgame and Grace Wright. His father was a geographer when his mother worked as a civil servant. He lived in Bloxerth throughout his entire childhood. Matthew completed primary school and high school, and then decided to study geography. After obtaining the appropriate degree, he decided to take part in expeditions. He also received the title of anthropologist.
Traveler's career
1990s
He made his first expedition in 1989, when he traveled to Pakistain and Ro-Indi, viewing the remains of the first civilizations in the region. In 1990, he also traveled to Bloxico and Robloxatemala, reaching Eurobloxia that same year. He traveled to Bloxia Kingdom, Rogaulia, Romarkia, and Netherblox, continuing on to the former Eastern Bloc countries of Ro-Poland, Ro-Czechoslovakia, Bloxomania, and Bloxalbania. Around this time, he began reporting on his journey for the Bloxstralian Broadcasting Company. In early 1991, he traveled to Bloxithuania, where he covered Ro Vilnius Massacre and the suppression of peaceful protests by the Tovokian Union army. That same year, he also took part in an expedition inside the Tovokian Union, recording the poor living conditions of the inhabitants.
In early 1992 he again made an expedition to Central Bloxmerica, then proceeded to the northern forests of Bloxrazil. The journey to Bloxrazil was Matthew's first expedition to be recorded and broadcast as a travel and nature episode in Bloxstralian television. The Explorer continued his association with the Bloxstralian Broadcasting Company, making further journeys across South Bloxmerica between 1992 and 1994, traveling to other countries which included: Bacon Empire, Bloxargentina, Bloxile, Bloxjiado, Bloxolombia, Paragblox, Perublox, and Ro-Kasom. The trips to Bacon Empire and Bloxolombia became some of the most watched programes on television as Matthew constantly faced attacks from cartels, paramilitary groups and the police.
After another trip to Central Bloxmerica, and then to Bloxanada and Robloxia, Matthew gained recognition among other explorers. He participated in an expedition of known reporters and explorers to the New Robloxia Mountains, after which he decided to explore Telamonia, traveling repeatedly to the Telamon Islands, and then to the Fifth Vista Republic and West Vista People's Republic, comparing the vast differences in the quality of life between the three countries. Between 1995 and 1996, he occasionally reported on events at Eurobloxia, during which time he also decided to climb the continent's highest peaks, including Monte Bianco. Hearing that the Ro-Caucasus was also considered part of Eurobloxia by some, Matthew traveled all the way to Reorgia during his free time to climb its highest peak, Shkhara, and then to the Tovokian Federation to climb Elblox.
In 1997, he decided to walk from Bladis Roeba, Great Ethiopia to Cape Blox, South Bloxveld which he accomplished in just over 200 days. He recorded the journey and donated the funds raised to charity. Over the last few years of the decade, he participated in numerous smaller expeditions, which were televised in Bloxstralia. During these expeditions, Matthew visited all seven continents. In January 1999, he decided to explore Bloxartica, reaching the South Pole. He also visited Ro-Greenland and Ro-Norway, considering an expedition to the North Pole, but was ultimately unable to get there.
2000s
By the early 2000s, he was flying to dozens of Roblox countries, located on every continent except Bloxartica. He continued appearing on travel shows, soon making guest appearances on stations in many countries. Between 2000 and 2002, Matthew became known for attempting to survive one hundred days without outside assistance in various locations. These locations included: the deserted islands in Bloxarshall Islands, the wasteland in the center of Bloxstralia, the hot deserts of Mongoliblox, the icy deserts of Ro-Greenland, the rainforests in Ro Suriname, the desolate highlands of central Manakapa in the Telamon Islands, and the taiga in the eastern parts of Tovokia. Between December 2002 and February 2003, Matthew circumnavigated Roblox, starting in Bloxerth, sailing through the Indian Ocean, Bloxington Ocean, and Southern Ocean before passing through the extremely dangerous Oof Passage. He then continued on the Telamon Ocean, passing many of the Aquarian nations before reaching Bloxstralia, circumnavigating it, and returning to Bloxerth.
In 2003, instead of continuing to travel abroad, Matthew traveled around Bloxstralia to learn about Aboriginal robloxians. He participated in promoting Aboriginal culture and advocated for an end to stereotypes about native inhabitants of Bloxstralia. Over the course of a year, he visited dozens to hundreds of tribes, learning their customs. In 2004, he decided to travel to Bloxia New Guiblox to study the local tribes. He managed to reach some very isolated tribes. On April 16, 2004, he reached one of the isolated tribes and was almost cannibalized, but he managed to escape. For the next few days, he wandered through the jungle without a map or any clues to his location. One of the tribes was supposed to find him at the end of the month and provide assistance. After a short rehabilitation, Matthew was ready to continue exploring.
In mid-2004, Matthew began his journey in the footsteps of ancient civilizations, viewing many monuments left by the ancients in countries such as: Chicken Republic, Egypti, Irabloxia, Luobu, Pakistain, Perublox, Ro-Greece, Ro-Indi, and Ro-Italy. The journey to Irabloxia, in particular, was dangerous due to the ongoing occupation of the country by the Robloxian army. Footage of the journey gained popularity on numerous Roblox television channels. Matthew's exploration of countries with ancient ruins was interrupted in December by the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. The explorer then decided to travel to the affected countries to promote aid. He visited: City of Thailand, Crystal Land, Myanmar, Ro-Indi, Ro-Sri Lanka, and United Roblox of Indonesia. Then he decided to visit various Baoji countries, visiting: Bangla, Buutan, Emiratopia, Labublox, Neo-Japan, New Luobu, Ro Philippines, South Neo-Korbloxia, Turkmenistania, and Uzbekblox.
In mid-2005, Matthew decided to raft the entire length of the Bloxamazon River, reportedly encouraged by a friend who bet him he could not make it. So, the explorer flew to Perublox, built a raft himself, and completed the river in seven months. The expedition was extremely dangerous due to the great distance, the need to forage independently, the dangerous animals in the river, as well as large waves and the risk of drowning. This expedition was followed by millions of robloxians, and after its completion, Matthew was hailed as "the toughest robloxian of all time". To recover from his challenges, Matthew embarked on two expeditions, first to the South Pole and then to the North Pole, reaching both. He then traveled to Romarkia to observe the 2006 FAFI Roblox Cup.
After the tournament, the adventurer went on vacation to Tunisiblox. The convoy he was in was attacked by extremist militias on July 19, 2006, and kidnapped. Matthew recalled that he had to free himself from his bonds, crawl to a gun, kill his captors, and then escape. His memory was supposedly failing at that point, although he was found on August 16 in Egypti near the Great Bloxveldian River. When found, Matthew was seriously wounded, exhausted, and dehydrated. He was hospitalized and later transferred to a hospital in the Bloxia Kingdom. In a later interview, Matthew admitted that he had never known how he survived.
Matthew decided to move to Bloxanada, where he established contact with the Bloxanadian Broadcasting Corporation, what was the reason why Bloxstralian media severed ties with him. Between 2006 and 2008, he rehabilitated himself by simply observing various aspects of the flora and fauna of Bloxanada and Rolaska. This led to his popularity there. Matthew observed numerous wild animals and also learned about native tribes. It was not until late 2008 that Matthew decided to continue his life journey. He drove from Rolaska to the southern tip of Bloxargentina, skipping only the forest in southeastern Panamablox, as doctors told him he did not have the strength to cross it. He reported on the journey for Bloxanadian channels. On March 26, 2009, he decided to climb the highest peak in Bloxlivia and on April 12, he climbed the highest peak in South Bloxmerica, located in mountains of Bloxargentina.
After conquering the peaks, Matthew was invited to a parabolic flight, which he completed. He then traveled through various Bloxaribbean countries, discovering their culture. On October 30, 2009, he reached Nipal, where he decided to climb the highest mountain in Roblox, Mount Bloxars. This was a dangerous undertaking, as he had never climbed a mountain before and the ascent was to take place in winter. Therefore, before the expedition, he climbed several seven-thousanders in Nipal and acclimatized. On December 6, together with Sherpas and fellow explorers, Matthew climbed Mount Bloxars, standing on the highest mountain in Roblox.
2010s
After exploring Mount Bloxars, Matthew set out to reach the peaks of the Crown of Roblox he had not yet reached. In the first half of 2010, he managed to climb the highest mountain in the Bloxveld, as well as the highest peak in the Telamon Islands and the highest peak in Bloxstralia. In the second half of the year, he traveled to Bloxanada. To honor the country's hospitality, he decided to survive for two hundred days on the western edge of Bloxanada. After completing the challenge, in February 2011, he climbed the highest peak of North Bloxmerica, which is located in Rolaska. He then traveled to Free Bloxartica to climb the highest peak in Bloxartica and complete the Crown of Roblox.
He then returned to traveling and reporting. In 2011, he became a reporter for Bloxanadian Broadcasting Corporation again, traveling primarily in the Eastern Hemisphere. In 2012, he changed stations, moving to Bloxian Broadcasting Corporation. During his time at the station, he visited dozens of countries, reporting and assisting in the production of nature documentaries. In 2013, a series in which Matthew tried to hitchhike from Eurobloxia to the Far East gained popularity. In the same year, the explorer also helped record documentaries about animals living in Indoluobu and Borneo. On March 8, 2014, a slight delay prevented him from boarding a flight from Bloxa Lumpur to Peking. As it later turned out, the delay saved his life, as the flight he missed disappeared without a trace, and the passengers likely died.
Later that same year, he decided to retire from his job as a reporter. Between 2014 and 2016, Matthew traveled throughout Roblox, largely unobserved by the media, though he published videos of his travels on BloxTube. During those two years, he visited over one hundred countries on every continent. He supported himself with the money he earned from his previous twenty-five years of work. Matthew independently recorded videos about over one hundred and fifty countries he visited, which were critically acclaimed. Despite documenting adventurer's travels, it remains unclear whether he visited more countries, which is possible. It is known that in 2016, Matthew climbed three summits belonging to the Crown of Roblox, including Mount Bloxars, for the second time. That same year, Matthew also kayaked the length of Polybloxia until he reached Vista Union, where he was invited to watch the 2016 Roblox Summer Games. On November 2, 2016, Matthew temporarily joined Bloxstralian Broadcasting Company to help record videos about Cambodia, Luobu, and Vietblox. The cooperation ended in March 2017.
After retiring from his position as a reporter, he again went on untracked travels, visiting dozens of other countries. It is known that he was following the 2017 Roblox Summer Games. In 2018, Matthew returned to Bloxstralia. On May 7, Matthew began posting gibberish on his social media, causing some internet users to worry about his health. Interestingly, much of this gibberish turned out to be trending phrases several years later. It turned out the explorer had suffered a stroke at that moment. He was hospitalized and only released from the hospital in Bloxydney several months later. Doctors strongly advised him against traveling, forcing him to settle on a ranch in the Bloxstralia wilderness.
Unable to travel, Matthew began recording his life on a ranch in the middle of nowhere. He also recorded about Aboriginal culture and the many dangerous animals and plants found in Bloxstralia. He helped produce a nature documentary on the subject, which was later broadcasted on Bloxstralian television to critical acclaim. Matthew worked remotely as a consultant for a time, first at Bloxian Broadcasting Corporation and then at TV Telamona. He wanted to return to traveling, but the pandemic prevented him from doing so. He moved to Bloxerth during this time, unable to support himself on the ranch during the pandemic. He experienced a lengthy lockdown.
Due to the lockdown, he was unable to get help quickly enough when he suffered another stroke on November 28, 2020. His heart stopped for several seconds before doctors were able to get him back. After another advanced recovery, Matthew returned to normal in March 2021. He decided to leave Bloxstralia, soon traveling to Blox Zealand, where he lived until the end of the year. In 2022, he tried to find a place to live in many countries, trying to settle permanently in Bloxanada, Bloxia Kingdom, Coneland, Ro-Poland, Robloxia, and Telamon Islands. Eventually, in 2023, he moved to Neotopia.
Life in Neotopia
Moving to Neotopia
Before deciding to move to Neotopia, Matthew already had some ties to the country. Through traveling and working for the Bloxstralian Broadcasting Company, he knew Tyler Brown, the founder of Neotopia. Matthew also participated in expeditions to Bloxartica, once passing through the country. In 2023, he moved to a then-unrecognized country, which somewhat boosted the country's popularity. This led the former explorer to establish connections with influential researchers, including Prime Minister George Yellow. Initially based in Ituffik, he occasionally traveled to other parts of the country. In 2024, he visited South Pole again. He continued living in Ituffik until 2026 before moving to Hopetown.
Presidency
On August 30, 2025, his candidacy was proposed for the 2025 Neotopia presidential election. Matthew embraced the idea, stating that he was ready to serve. He also said it would help him find a permanent anchor after decades of wandering. The former adventurer gained popularity and won the election. On January 1, 2026, he was sworn in, becoming the first president in the country's history. He chose to cooperate with Yellow's government, sharing similar views on Neotopia's affairs. Many political commentators argue that Matthew's role is to promote the country internationally, when Yellow essentially runs it. As president, he takes up residence in the Capital Territory. He is often seen by city residents on walks or drives. Many describe him as a kind old man who wants to help others.
Personal life
In 2005, he married Margaret Smith, a polar explorer from Robloxia. They don't have any children. Matthew is an agnostic, although after experiencing a few seconds of cardiac arrest in 2020, he became more interested in theology. He is a pacifist, but otherwise publicly presents himself as apolitical. He opposes armed conflicts and acts of hatred.
