The Progressive Party v. United States of Robloxia was a Supreme Court of United States of Robloxia court case initiated on February 26, 2026, following a lawsuit filed against the Robloxia government by the Progressive Party. The government has been prosecuted of, among other things, a coup d'état, violating the constitution, violating robloxian rights, abuse of power, complicity in the murder of civilians, corruption, unjustified arrests of opposition figures, and numerous other charges.

Background

The 2025 United States of Robloxia congressional election was scheduled for Election Day in early November 2025 to elect new congressmen. The Corporatist Party, using legally questionable tactics, circumvented the law and canceled the election, filling all the seats in the Robloxia Congress with its own representatives and senators. Subsequently, President Mason Smith was impeached and a Corporatist government led by David Baszucki was established. The Corporatist government introduced numerous restrictions, including very unpopular Age Checks for Communication Executive Order, reducing its popularity and leading to popular labeling it a regime or dictatorship. Julian Jefferson, mayor of New Blockers City, sued the Robloxia government in the Supreme Court regarding the implementation of age checks in his city.

On the Supreme Court, 10 justices supported Jefferson, while 3 supported Baszucki. However, a few hours later, President Baszucki summoned the Supreme Court justices to a closed-door meeting. Immediately afterward, it was announced that the case must be reheard. Baszucki illegally added nine more politically connected justices to the Supreme Court. They overturned the outcome, leading to Baszucki winning 12 to 10. Ultimately, the case ended in a settlement.

Meanwhile, the Progressive Party also decided to sue the government. At the time, the party was the most active opposition party, becoming the main party commanding the 2026 Robloxian roadblocks. Corporatists constantly blamed the Progressives for various events. John Puma, the party's leader, was arrested on charges of high treason after corrupt police opened fire on peaceful protesters at his rally and Puma found the courage to speak out about it. Furthermore, thousands of other party members were wrongfully arrested, and its offices were illegally raided by Corporatist paramilitaries. Consequently, the party decided to settle the matter in court.

The trial

The trial took place on February 27, 2026, in Robloxia City, D.C. in the Supreme Court seat. Surprisingly, only four judges appeared in the courtroom. During the trial, numerous witnesses from both within and outside the party spoke of government abuses. Due to the abundance of witnesses and evidence, the trial lasted more than twelve hours. Of the judges, 3 sided with the Progressive Party, and 1 sided with the government. Upon hearing this, Baszucki reconvened the closed-door meeting with the judges. After several hours, four judges returned with nine new judges, the same ones added in the Jefferson case against the Robloxian government. This changed the outcome, leaving 10 judges supporting the government and 3 supporting the Progressive Party. The party filed an eight-hundred-page complaint, but it was dismissed without further review. Several Corporatists condemned the Progressives' lawsuit against the Robloxia government, calling them "traitors to the nation".

Aftermath

This trial effectively greenlit the Robloxian government to perform coup d'états, violate robloxian rights, abuse power, corrupt, and justify arrests and deportations of opposition figures. Because repeated trials between the same plaintiff and defendant are generally restricted by legal doctrines designed to ensure finality, such as res judicata (claim preclusion), which prevents re-litigating the same claims, the Progressive Party is unable to sue the United States of Robloxia again unless different issues are presented. A mass tort and conslidation to a multidistrict legislation (MDL) is largely expected to occur, with the second lawsuit being John Puma suing the Corporatist Party for possibly the same issues on May 16, 2026. John Puma won the lawsuit and announced he would reopen the case of Progressive Party v. United States of Robloxia, though ultimately, instead of reopening the case, he included all the charges from the case in the impeachment papers for the president, which led to the impeachment of David Baszucki on May 23, 2026.
