The Progressive Party board decided to organize a march in Robloxia City on January 17, targeting the government and Corporatists. They reached an agreement with the Committee for the Defense of Democracy, which sponsored the march and agreed to co-organize it. The Independent Party soon joined in. On January 17, approximately 5,000,000 robloxians decided to participate in the march, setting up in several locations throughout Robloxia City. Although the speeches took place in one square, they were projected on screens in several other squares. The marchers walked some distance to the main stage, where the speeches were to be delivered. John Puma spoke first, condemning the Corporatists and emphasizing the need to stand up to them. Mark Johnson then took the microphone and invited the public to unite in the fight against their common enemy. Martin Stevens from the Committee for the Defense of Democracy then spoke, also condemning the Corporatists. As Andrew Miller of the Independent Party prepared to speak, police gathered around the massive crowd, using loudspeakers, ordered the crowd to return home. After Andrew Miller stated that the police actions were unlawful, the officers moved to disperse the crowd. They used shields, batons, tear gas, and plastic ammunition. The crowd panicked despite John Puma's attempts to calm them down. The officers then drew their firearms and began shooting into the crowd. The terrified crowd fled, trampling themselves as the officers fired from behind. 52 robloxians died and 210 were injured.
