THIS MUST BE USED WHEN THERE ARE TWO BELLIGERENTS. If there are more than two belligerents, please use {{Conflict}} instead. If there are less than two belligerents, by definition, it is not an conflict.

Usage

Yes! You can also use this for massacres. — chikorita152e, Employee, RSCP Foundation (message)

A military conflict infobox (sometimes referred to as a warbox) may be used to summarize information about a particular military conflict (a battle, campaign, war, or group of related wars) in a standard manner.

The infobox should be added using the {{Conflict2}} template, as shown below:

{{Conflict2|partOf=|date=|location=|result=|belligerents2=|belligerents1=|commandersAndLeaders1=|commandersAndLeaders2=|strength1=|strength2=|casualtiesAndLosses1=|casualtiesAndLosses2=}}

Note: When using fields, avoid the ambiguous abbreviation "N/A" or blanking the field, and instead use "unknown" or "none". (see WP:MILMOS#CITE).

Parameters/Fields

  • partOf – the larger conflict containing the event described in the article. For battles or campaigns, this should be the war during which the event takes place; for particularly large wars, this may include a theater. For wars, the parameter may be used to link to a larger group of wars. For proper grammar, "the" is already inserted before the name of the war.

If there is no larger conflict, the field may be filled in with "No Greater Conflict". Yes, I know, this makes it weird-sounding, but this is what we can do at this time. Sorry! — chikorita152e, Employee, RSCP Foundation (message) 06:12, 30 November 2021 (UTC)

  • date - the date of the conflict described. Note that some users may opt to use the convention, which is to give the actual date for battles and the years for wars.
  • location - the place of the conflict. For conflicts covering a wide area, a general description may be used.
  • result - this field may be filled in with "X victory", "Stalemate", or a larger result in general.
  • belligerents1 - Insert the first belligerent here.
  • belligerents2 - Insert the second belligerent here.
  • commandersAndLeaders1 - Insert the first belligerent's commanders and leaders here.
  • commandersAndLeaders2 - Insert the second belligerent's commanders and leaders here.
  • strength1 - Insert the first belligerent's strength here.
  • strength2 - Insert the second belligerent's strength here.
  • casualtiesAndLosses1 - Insert the first belligerent's casualties and losses here.
  • casualtiesAndLosses2 - Insert the second belligerent's casualties and losses here.
