Bloxburg Coeptus International Airport (RATA: BAX, RACO: RBAX, FAA LID: BAX) is the primary international airport serving Bloxburg City and its surrounding metropolitian area in Bloxburg Valley, Robloxia. BAX is located in the West Acres neighbourhood of the city of Bloxburg, 16 miles mainly southwest of Downtown Bloxburg City, with the commercial and residential areas to the north, the city of North Port to the east and Nectarine City to the northwest. It is the closest airport to West Acres and Adorn City. BAX is a major international gateway for Robloxia, serving as a connection point for travellers travelling internationally (such as Eurasia, Ro-Mexico, and others). BAX serves as a hub, focus city, and operating base for more passenger airlines than any other airport in Robloxia.

The airport is mainly operated by Bloxburg World Airports (BWA), a branch of the Bloxburg government, which also operates La Gran Guardia International Airport for general aviation. The airport covers 3500 acres (1400 ha) of land and has four parallel runways. Bloxburg Coeptus is SkyLink's home base and primary hub, with their own terminal in Terminal 7. Their headquarters are also located on the property.

In 2015, BAX handled 88,068,013 passengers, making it the third busiest airport in the world and the second busiest airport in Robloxia after Aerborne International Airport. Currently operating at the limits of its capacity, BAX has begun its remodeling phase, as well as the facilities of Terminal 1 and 2 and possible construction of Terminal 3 in the current area of the Presidential and Military Hangar. It is also expected to be released from overload, with the construction of the La Gran Guardia International Airport, at the Bloxburg air base, which has a work completion date of 2019. The airport also has a highway which is the main road to the airport called Coeptus Airport Boulevard or Bloxburg Valley Spur Route 523. This boulevard is where Interblox 666 starts. It is the first interchange in the boulevard, with the other being the airport flyover.

History

The Bloxian Plains, which later became Bloxburg City International Airport, has a rich history dating back to 1910 when Robert Smith made history by piloting the first airplane in Robloxia. The airport's original site was primarily used for aeronautical activities until 1915 when it opened as Bloxburg Military Airport with five runways.

In 1928, a small civilian airport was constructed, and the first landing took place on November 5th of the same year. Regular service commenced in 1929, but it was not until May 15, 1931, that it was officially inaugurated. The airport's reputation continued to grow, and on July 8, 1943, The Bloxburg Times published a decree recognizing Bloxburg City Central Airport as an international airport, capable of handling international passenger and aircraft arrivals and departures. Its first international route was to Robloxia International Airport.

In 1956, the airport had four runways in service: 05L-23R (2720 m [9.71 kilo-studs] long, 40 m [143 studs] wide), 05R-23L (3000 m [10.7 kilo-studs] long, 45 m [161 studs] wide), with electric lights for night service; 13-31 (2300 m [8.21 kilo-studs] long, 40 m [143 studs] wide) which had been built to relieve 14-32, which residential areas had encroached too closely; and 5 Auxiliaries (759 m [2.71 kilo-studs] long).

Construction began on Runway 05D-23I, as well as new facilities such as an apron, terminal building, control tower, and offices for authorities six years later. The runway began operations in 1951. On November 19, 1952, the president of that year inaugurated the passenger terminal, which later became Terminal 1.

2003-2007

Due to increased traffic, the president announced the construction of a new larger airport on 5,000 ha (12,000 acres or 640 kilo-studs2) in the Santa Fe and Santa Catalina districts, but when violent local protests took place in 2002, the new airport was cancelled . Instead, to respond to growing demand and with the goal of positioning BAX as one of the largest in terms of quality, service, safety and operational functionality, on May 30, 2003, the Bloxburgsence District announced an upgrade: an air terminal extension to expand its service capacity from 20 million to 32 million passengers per year. This program was part of the Metropolitan Airport System, promoted by the Federal Administration. The Ministry of Communications and Transportation (SCT), Airports and Auxiliary Services (AAS) and BAX carried out the expansion and remodeling work at Terminal 1, covering 90,000 square meters (970,000 square feet or 1.15 kilo-studs2); 48,000 of which were new construction and 42,000 of which were remodeled. The renovations include new airline counters, retail spaces and an elevator for people with disabilities.

2007-2015

Clock firms such as Rolex Audemars Piguet Omega Kienzle Seiko installed their own airport clocks in the airport.
