It is one of the two airports that serve Massagaf, the other airport being Massagaf Main International Airport. It is the second busiest airport in Bloxjiado behind Dahanani Airport and also the second largest behind Dahanani Airport and in front of Massagaf Main Airport, which was the second largest and second busiest airport in Bloxjiado. The airport is a hub for JiadoAir, JiadoAir Regional and Massagaf Express.
History
Hajiquki Airport
In 2024, Massagaf-Hajiquki Airport was inaugurated with a single terminal with 2 concourses and 2 runways. 3 more runways were added later on with Terminal 2 opened and an airport hotel and an Air Traffic Control tower. The airport is near BJF Massagaf, the only airforce base in Massagaf. It is also close to Massagaf Main Airport. This airport was built to handle the increase in travelling in Massagaf and Massagaf Main Airport is still open. When the airport was built, most of the airlines moved from Massagaf Main to Massagaf Hajiquki except Bloxiair and JiadoAir, but JiadoAir also operates from Hajiquki. The airport was named after Henshaw Aunk Justus Hajiquki, who was Bloxjiado’s aviation minister from 2004 till 2009 when he retired. He was also the vice president of Bloxjiado from 1989 till 1996. Henshaw died in 2011 aged 70 due to old age sickness. Terminal 4 was constructed in 2025 with another runway.
Terminals
The airport has 3 terminals with 2 concourses. Terminal 1 has the most concourses.
Terminal 1
Concourse A
Terminal 1 Concourse A (Gates A1-A4) is used for airlines both domestically and internationally.
Concourse B
Concourse B (Gates B1-B4) is the same but fully used for JiadoAir’s operations although some flights of JiadoAir operate from Terminal 3.
Terminal 2
Terminal 2 (Gates C1-C4) is used for regional (domestic) flights. Terminal 2 has no concourse but there was Concourse C, which was directly connected to Terminal 2. The terminal is used by 3 airlines, Viljik Airways, JiadoAir (for flights to Qembasa and Yukkokay) and JiadoAir Regional. Some JiadoAir Regional flights are in Terminal 1 Concourse B through a codeshare with JiadoAir, its parent company. Terminal 1 has no check in area along with a train to take passengers to Concourse A and B, due to both the concourses having Check In counters. However, there is a bridge between Concourse A and B for passengers to go to each Concourse. Both the concourses, have connecting flights facilities. Terminal 2 has some.
Terminal 3
Terminal 3 (Gates D1-D6) newly opened on 1 February 2025 and serves the following airlines; Bloxiair, JiadoAir (for flights to Dahanani, Yukkokay and Umek City) and Flyalefblox. Due to only 2 concourses with 3 terminals, Terminal 2 is sometimes known as Former Concourse C or sometimes as Concourse C with Terminal 3 known as Concourse D sometimes.
Terminal 4
Terminal 4 (Gates E1-E34) has been constructed in the other side of the city, located in the town of Santoro, but still inside Massagaf. Santoro cannot be accessed by the city centre but now is. Connecting passengers can go to Terminal 1,2,3 from Terminal 4 via Santoro Road on the new Santoro Interchange in Massagaf - Dahanani Motorway M1. They can also access it on M4. Terminal 4 has the most gates in the airport. The terminal is also the main hub of LATAM Airllines Bloxjiado.
