History
Main article: History of Catfish Islands
The discovery of the Catfish Islands archipelago dates back to the 4th century, when the island of Tsuburu was first sighted by ancient mariners. Over time, more islands were discovered, expanding the archipelago. One of the most significant discoveries was made around 620 CE by the Neo-Japanese sailor, Eiji Yetsoofmoto, who spotted land while sailing south from Chairoshima. This new land was Nyubishima, the largest island in the archipelago, which was soon settled by intrepid explorers. In 649, the nephew of Yetsumoto, Eiji Yorihide, founded Kanteoof and became its first Daimyō. In 683, the Eiji family took power in Teglu.
Around the 10th century, the islands were already visited by Luobese and Pulanese (or just penguin rangers traders) and merchants.
On September 14, 1177, Hanato Nyoobooftsugu defeated the pula dynasty troops in the Battle of Wain-ro.
