Teppō (Hitsui: ཏེཕོ) - a type of blackpowder long gun made from lapis, used in the Catfish Islands region.

History

The first Teppō muskets emerged in the first half of the 17th century on the Catfish Islands. Neo-Japanese sources mention that during the Choofmunu War, Noobians used "arquebuses made of strong lapis, with space for further loads". Teppō was also used by the Neo-Japanese samurai, that stationed at Catfish Islands in 1693-1705 as part of the Tokugawa Tunayoshi's administration.
