John Shedletsky International Airport (IATA: JSW, ICAO: JCSA, FAA ID: JO5) is the primary international airport serving ROBLOX City. It is one of the busiest airports in Roblox, carrying 21 million passengers yearly. It reached a record breaking 42 million passengers in 2012 but soon started to die down due to the 2013 economic crisis, placing it 5th on the busiest airports list. It is owned by Bloxico Airports.

The airport covers 4200 acres (217 square kilo-studs) of land with 4 runways (35R, 35L, 03R, 03L) (25R, 25L, 17R, 17L) and 3 terminals (Terminal A, also known as the departure terminal; terminal B, the international terminal and terminal C, the cargo terminal). The airport has just finished remodeling and is expected to see more passengers coming in.

JSW is located in the North Acres industrial and neighborhood of ROBLOX City, 45 km (161 kilo-studs) east to downtown ROBLOX City and 15 km (107 kilo-studs) west to ROBLOX City International Airport.

There are 5 main airliners that uses this airport as a hub: Roblox airlines, Coeptus, Romerican, United and Rodova.

History

1939

The airport started construction.

1941

The airport finished construction; it was used as a military base during the Second Robloxian Civil War. It has 5 hangers with 1 runway. It handled Robloxian fighter aircraft such as the P-51 mustang, F2A Buffalo and the iconic B-29 bomber (which was never used).

1945

The airport was bombed by several Neo-Japanese torpedo bomber aircraft. Around 1000 died and another 500 were severely injured. The airport was then seen as a deserted wasteland.

1969

ROBLOX City was in need of a second airport. Though there was an airport already, the increasing demand for air travel skyrocketed. The government saw the former airport as an opportunity and started laying out the airport foundation from there. They designed the airport to be bigger and much more sustainable than the ROBLOX City International Airport. However, the total building costs for the airport was a whopping 2.69 billion Robux; this caused the government to increase taxes to fund the airport building fees.

1970

The citizens of ROBLOX City started to rebel against the new tax fee. Protest and riots began all over ROBLOX City and thousands of citizens were arrested. On August 14th, 11:25 AM, a huge riot brewed in the heart of the city. Chaos ensued everywhere; many who were involved were heavily armed with knives, guns and grenades. The riot turned from a normal protest to a brutal massacre; the death toll was as high as 15,000 and 20,000 were severely wounded. Eventually, the government resigned and was sentenced to 15 years in prison for corruption; the airport construction was halted for nearly 2 years.

1972

Construction resumed on February 2nd.

1974

The airport was finished and started operations on November 16th. It had 1 terminal (Terminal A), and it was used for both domestic and international air travel at the time. Business at the newly built airport skyrocketed as almost immediately; the airport got an estimated 500,000 passengers in the first year. The airport proved to be a huge success as tourism in Roblox City that the tourism rate went from 4.2 (in millions) to 9.6 in a single year; the rates continued to rise rapidly prior to the jet age.

1975-1990

Rising tourism meant that more traffic was coming into the airport. There was 1 runway (Runway 35R and 03L) at the time, which obviously wasn't enough to attend to the busy traffic. In 1975, the construction team added a new runway (35L and 03R) parallel to the old runway. However, the construction of the runway was rushed which led to many problems and incidents.

In 1980, due to the overwhelming spike in tourism rate, Terminal B started construction, adding up another 4.2 billion Robux.

In 1985, Terminal B finally finished construction to serve as an international terminal. Terminal A was then used for simple domestic travel. The new terminal was incredibly luxurious, featuring the newest modern styles at the time. It had 2 main lounges (the Plaza lounge and the Golden lounge).

In 1989, Runway 35L got a renovation.

In 1990, Runway 35L finished its renovation.

1994

2 more runways were built (25R, 25L, 17R, 17L). Due to the productivity of the workers, they were built within months.

2000-Present

In 2000, cargo routes were popularized, and terminal C (cargo terminal) started construction; the cost was around 690 million Robux.

In 2003, terminal C finished construction.

In 2013, a massive economic crisis hit. The yearly revenue dropped from 14 billion Robux to as low as 3 billion Robux. The yearly passenger count dropped as the global passenger index dropped as well. Several flights from and to the airport were cancelled to save up the massive fuel cost. The economic crisis did not end until 2015. Other airports were also severely affected.

Nothing else interesting happened after 2015 besides incidents.

However, on March 20, 2026, the government of Roblox City wanted to rename the city's airport to KikosVids International Airport, arguing that the city's airport was misspelled. This was met with controversy as the existing airport was correctly spelled, and several terrorists managed to hijack Rodova Airlines 124 and crash it to the air traffic control tower of the airport to protest the decision, resulting in the steel beams of the air traffic control tower to melt into molten steel, which later solidified in the colder atmosphere surrounding the tower. This eventually cumulated in the tower collapsing as its center of gravity placed it in a unstable position and the immediate indefinite postponing of all flights until the air traffic control tower was rebuilt.

Incidents

JSW was never a perfect airport. There were several flaws to the airport mainly due to rushed construction.

1978

Coeptus flight 731 was a R737-200 registered as NM-30R flying from Bloxburg City on approach to runway 35R when a flock of birds hit its 2nd engine. Luckily, the aircraft managed to make a safe landing as there were no fatalities nor injuries.

1981

Robloxia Airlines flight 33 was a L1011-200 registered NZ-430G departing for Ro France on runway 03R when one of its gears hit a big hole in the runway when entering V1. The landing gear flew off and engine 2 exploded as the plane started to rotate. The plane lifted off the ground a few feet high but was not able to go any further. After two long minutes of gaining some altitude, the plane rolled right and dived down before crashing into a neighborhood. All 204 passengers and crew died on impact and another 24 died on ground.

1984

Romerican flight 7711 was a R747-100 registered QR-433R flying from Neo-Japan on descend to runway 35L during a heavy storm. There were approximately 35 knots of wind coming from the west (blowing onto the left wing of the plane). When they were on short finals, the pilots realized they were too much on the left and attempted to align with the runway. However, due to the insane crosswinds, they decided to go around but they were too late. The plane ended up rolling towards the right side while making an extremely hard landing on the grass right beside the runway. The fuselage broke into pieces seconds after the hard touchdown which ended up flaming in the end. 312 out of the 342 passengers on board died, 4 out of 8 crew members died, and 2 ground crew were killed. This was deemed the worst air crash on Roblox in the 1980s.

1990

The roof in Terminal A collapsed. This was due to a lack of maintenance as inspections were improvised and not done properly. There were 37 fatalities and a further 169 were injured. The airport was closed for six months to renovate the old terminal A.

1993

Romerican flight 7 was a R767-300 registered MN-103Q on final approach to 25R from Peking. The pilots were not well trained and often made mistakes. The aircraft was way higher than the usual path during an approach and the approach speed was at 156 knots (which is over the usual approach speed). The pilots did not think of a go-around and proceeded with the landing routine. They ended up touching down extremely late and hard, causing the aircraft to bounce before the right landing gear collapsed and the aircraft rolled over and broke into flames. 133 of the 342 passengers died, 2 out of 8 crews died and the rest were injured.

1997

On September 15th, Terminal B caught fire which caused 84 people to be injured. Fortunately, it was not a big fire and there were not any fatalities. Evidence found that the fire was caused when a gas tank in the lounge's kitchen exploded. Terminal B was closed for three months.

2016

Lemonde flight 1553 was a R777-300 registered NR-932R flying from Brookhaven was going to land on runway 35L when suddenly, a bomb exploded in the tail fuselage cargo compartment which caused a fire. Fortunately, though the bomb was scheduled to explode in flight, the explosion was delayed which gave the pilots enough time to land the aircraft safely. There were no fatalities nor injuries among the 354 passengers on board.

2016

Lemonde flight 4756 was an R330-300 registered NE-420G flying from Bloxburg City was going to land on runway 03L during a storm. There was approximately 38 knots of crosswind at the time and the pilots had difficulty landing. They made two failed attempts to land and had to go around twice. On their third attempt, the pilots managed to maintain a safe path towards the runway with lots of struggle. However, the pilots did not focus on the speed as it was way faster than the safe landing speed. When they realized, it was too late. Instead of going around, they decided to touchdown. The touchdown was incredibly rough as the plane bounced twice and landed on its nose gear the second time. The nose gear and the cockpit were separated from the fuselage as the cabin fuselage lifted into the air before rolling down and crashing into a mall. 543 people were killed (211 were in the mall) and 312 were severely injured, all the passengers and crew died on impact. Investigation showed that the main cause of the crash was due to the aircraft being rushed during its construction and the lack of maintenance done on the several cracks around the cockpit and the fuselage.

2017

Rodova Airlines flight 66 was a R777-300ER registered MQ-536R flying from Aerborne INTL starting descend towards JCSA. Around 9 minutes into the descend, the aircraft went into an uncontrollable turbulence before half of its vertical stabilizers tore off, which severed four hydraulic lines. The pilots contacted JCSA tower for an emergency, to which was approved. The aircraft lost control as it started banking towards the right, eventually causing the plane to fly upside down, before it plunged a few thousand feet in the air. Despite the complete loss of hydraulics, the pilots continued turning the yoke and moving the rudder. The aircraft went into a period of banking left and right, going up and down before the pilots gained control through adjusting both engine thrust. The plane made one final bank to the right before touching down, causing the wing to scrape the runway before it slammed onto the runway and steer off the runway. Due to the extremely hard touchdown, the rear end right gear ended up collapsing on touchdown. There were 2 fatalities out of the 304 passengers and 217 people were severely injured due to the plunge.

2018

Seaboard Airlines flight 22 was a R330-300 registered NN-232T flying from Seaboard City. It was about to land on runway 35R when suddenly, a gas tank near the cockpit exploded. The pilots struggled but managed to land the aircraft as it rolled to its left. This caused the fuselage to break into four pieces and cause a huge fire. 61 out of the 322 onboard died and another 223 were severely injured.

2023

Luobu Airlines Flight 55 was a R330-300 registered as JN-645HE was departing to Peking. 15 minutes after takeoff, the right winglet was severed which caused the plane to go into an uncontrollable turbulence while rolling towards the right. The pilots managed to make an emergency landing when the right gear slammed into the runway before collapsing, striking the right engine on the ground. The plane managed to stay on the runway for a while before rolling into a grass patch right next to the runway. The crew were able to evacuate all 314 passengers onboard before the right engine exploded and erupted into flames. Thankfully, everyone survived, and no injuries were recorded.

2026

Rodova Airlines Flight 124 was a Robus RA320 departing from Coeptus International Airport and was about to arrive at John Shedletsky International Airport when 15 minutes prior to landing, hijackers onboard the aircraft realized that the airport had been renamed to Kikosvids International Airport. Outraged by the sudden decision to rename the airport under a non-legitimate reason, the terrorists hijacked the Robus RA320, diverting it from its planned approach as stipulated by the air traffic control tower and redirecting the plane to a inelastic collision course with the tower, killing not only all robloxians onboard (excluding the hijackers, as they managed to eject themselves from the plane at the last second), but also all robloxians on the air traffic control tower at that time as the tower's steel melted and the tower as a collective structure collapsed. The plane was totaled beyond repair, which led to Rodova immediately purchasing a new Robus RA320 from an undisclosed airline. The damage was so severe that the black box is reported to be lost media, and that the registration of the aircraft is unknown as the label where the registration is written on the plane was shredded into many shreds. Nearby adjacent air traffic control towers last reported that the plane was going at speeds comparable to that of an air force aircraft a second before it crashed to the air traffic control tower.

This was Rodova Airline's first incident in nine years and the first successful terrorist attack ever attempted on a Rodova Airlines plane, which led to Rodova Airlines immediately retiring the flight number 124, replacing it with 126. This also effectively closed down the airport.

Following the incident, the Roblox City government saw the carnage and destruction that unfolded on the airport, and decided to scrap the renaming. The terrorists were arrested for the hijacking of an aircraft, however. Surprisingly, the terrorists were all minors. In the city's court, they pleaded not guilty, but effectively criminated themselves when they announced plans to do the same on Robloxia City's airport to protest against age checks, planning to "giving Robloxia a taste of their own medicine" in what became known as Operation Flavor. Court transcripts reported they said "If the government will not allow us to speak to adults, the government should not speak to airplanes", hinting that Operation Flavor would likely target the air traffic control tower of the capital's airport.
