The 2025 Bloxburg evacuations was a series of movements and operations to displace Robloxians from Bloxburg and the surrounding areas prior to the meteorite impact on June 28. After the meteorite was confirmed to be heading for Bloxburg on June 17 of that year, Mark Anderson and Dr. Lina Rivers encouraged the evacuation and took over its organization upon taking office as mayor on June 22 by Dr. Lina Rivers. This began a massive operation that aimed to relocate between over 20 million robloxians. It was one of the largest operations of its kind in Roblox's history.

Background

Main article: Bloxburg meteorite

In 2019, after RASA detected that one of the asteroids in the Robloxian Meteorite Belt was heading towards Roblox and reported that a collision could be possible, RASA tried to alarm the Robloxian government about the issue, but the issue was moved to the sidelines. In 2025, it turned out that this was probably true, but RASA was unable to issue preventive instructions. Various problems in the organization resulted in a very late detection of the threat. On June 17, 2025, it was publicly announced that the meteorite was heading for Bloxburg and it was accurately calculated that it would fall on one of the border areas of the city and would be able to affect the area of Greater Bloxburg City, with an increased risk in most of southern Bloxburg Valley. Ideas for evacuating the city were immediately made, but the logistics proved to be difficult.

Evacuation

June 17

  • The meteorite was officially announced and the evacuation ideas began. Mark Anderson, who was a few days away from leaving the interim mayor position in Bloxburg, encouraged the evacuation and began evacuating city government agencies and mobilized emergency services. Dr. Lina Rivers, who was to take office a few days later, also encouraged the evacuation.

June 18

  • A non-governmental organization called Save Bloxburg! was established, with the aim of raising money to organize the evacuation and to help with resettlement. It quickly became one of the main organizers of the evacuation and began its activities before the official evacuation, including those willing to do so. It obtained the necessary permits to build temporary settlements for evacuees. Residents began to use the organization's services immediately, so as not to have to flee on their own.
  • The Robloxia government, led by Vice President Matthew Smith, began deliberations on possible solutions to the meteorite problem. Similar deliberations were held at RASA, which began working closely with the government to jointly solve the problem and carry out the evacuation.
  • Spontaneous riots broke out in Bloxburg as desperate and poor citizens broke into supermarkets, taking supplies they needed to survive. The largest spontaneous riot, namely the 2025 Bloxburg Fresh Food Riot, occurred in the Bloxburg Fresh Food Supermarket, which was later rebranded as BYE Supermarket.

June 19

  • Due to congestion on the tracks, the first evacuations took place by rail and air. Many railcars and track-capable vehicles were confiscated in Bloxburg for evacuation. Several airlines began special, low-cost flights from Bloxburg Valley to the cities in the state border, where camps were being built.
  • Bloxburg's economy has begun the rapid process of transitioning to evacuation.

June 20

  • Police conducted a quick operation to transport prisoners from the Greater Bloxburg City area to correctional facilities located in the northern part of Bloxburg Valley.
  • Activists with "#BoycottTheMeteor" banners obstructed evacuation routes in several neighborhoods. Thanks to the quick intervention of the authorities, they were asked to leave. However, they refused to leave, causing them to be detained and then transported to a detention center outside Bloxburg.

June 21

  • Matthew Smith officially outlined possible solutions to the meteorite issue and supported the evacuation in Bloxburg, claiming that the government will look into it soon.

June 22

  • Dr. Lina Rivers took over Bloxburg and immediately ordered the evacuation of the city, taking the initiative. She covered the evacuation from the city's public funds, emphasizing that she counted on financial support from the government. She met with great support from the residents, the Save Bloxburg! movement and many politicians.
  • Matthew Smith had a conversation lasting over an hour with Dr. Lina Rivers, during which matters related to the evacuation were discussed. The Vice President assured that the city would receive financial support from the government, which intends to take a significant part in the evacuation itself, which previously had been a matter mainly for the city and independent organizations.
  • Dr. Lina Rivers announced the start of Operation Bloxburg Asteroid, previously agreed upon with Mark Anderson and the city administration. Smaller, significant buildings began to be moved to safe locations in designated areas near the cities, where they were properly secured.
  • John Puma personally traveled to Bloxburg to assist with the evacuation, where he remained in hopes of saving as many robloxians as possible.

June 23

  • The Robloxian government officially declared a state of emergency in Bloxburg Valley, Rovada, Brickland, and Bloxorado, and ordered an evacuation of all of Bloxburg Valley. This proved impractical, as the actual area in need of evacuation was the Greater Bloxburg City and near area, and as a result, the government allocated most of its resources to evacuate to other areas that did not need it. This increased discontent in Bloxburg Valley, and more charities were formed to raise money to fund the evacuation of Bloxburg itself.
  • Many states, including Blorida, Central Robloxia, Rohio, Bloxas, Roregon, North Bloxifornia, Bloxington Island, and Bloxwaii have announced that they will provide accommodation for residents evacuated from Bloxburg and the surrounding areas. Bloxburg Valley itself has also issued a statement that it will organize camps for them in the northern part of the country.
  • A majority of Bloxburg's schools were closed. Mayor Dr. Lina Rivers ordered the remaining public schools in Bloxburg that remained open to close the same day.

June 24

  • The Bloxburg City MetroBus has ceased operations as it has been relocated to another area. However, some of the vehicles have been temporarily impounded by city officials to aid in the evacuation, with Dr. Lina Rivers indicating they will be returned once the city is back to normal.
  • After pressure from Greater Bloxburg City mayors and activists, Bloxburg Valley has officially ordered an operation to temporarily impound as many private vehicles as possible that could be used for evacuation, including boats, vans, campers, trolleys, wagons, helicopters, planes, and more.
  • The Telamon Islands government has begun an evacuation operation for its citizens in Bloxburg, working with the city. It involved transporting robloxians by train or car to the central part of the state and evacuating them to the Telamon Islands by air.
  • Anti-government protests were held in several Bloxburg squares over the allocation of most of the evacuation money to non-threatened areas. The protest was peacefully organized by activists and in order not to hinder the evacuation, it was held in relatively empty areas. Protesters also invoked the June Affair, and John Puma, who took part in the evacuation, was the guest of honor at the protest.

June 25

  • Many of the towns around Bloxburg, including Bloxburg itself, received a large number of vehicles confiscated by the state. They were immediately designated for evacuation and were used for resettlement that same day. The boats were used on a mass scale for resettlement to Bloxington Islands and Bloxwaii, while the rest were used for resettlement to nearby states and other states that volunteered to help.
  • The governments of Bloxico, Bloxanada, and Bloxia Kingdom have announced the evacuation of their citizens from Bloxburg. In the case of Bloxico, the evacuation will be by land, and in the case of Bloxanada and Bloxia Kingdom, by air.

June 26

  • Multiple businesses, including stores and restaurants, in the Southern Bloxburg Valley were closed, including notable ones such as Like Imn Foods, and Speedy's Pizza And Games.
  • Bloxburg Valley Rail Transportation has officially closed. As a result, evacuations have stopped happening by rail, but evacuated towns in the southern part of the state have begun to use more vehicles confiscated by Bloxburg Valley authorities, mainly boats, planes, helicopters, and buses.
  • Mason "Scorpio" Smith, while sickened, announced that all robloxians in southern Bloxburg Valley and almost all of northern Bloxburg Valley had been evacuated, although almost 3,000,000 robloxians remained in Greater Bloxburg City and the northern part of the state was evacuating at a slower pace with many millions remaining. This sparked another wave of discontent with the government and protests, primarily in Northern Bloxburg Valley. In Robloxia City, a group of Robloxians evacuated from Bloxburg threw flares into the presidential palace and then fled to Bloxanada. They have yet to be located.
  • The true evacuation figures have been leaked, indicating that only 18,000,000 Robloxians left Bloxburg Valley, most of them from Bloxburg, contradicting the government's figures of 34,000,000 evacuees. The steadily falling discontent has crossed the line and riots have broken out in Sacramento, Buenos Lagos, and Tudela. John Puma has officially criticized the government for the poor organization of the evacuation, excessive panic, and falsification of statistics. He recorded a video of the crowds near the center of Bloxburg and asked, "Have these robloxians been evacuated yet? Is this city empty?" Dr. Lina Rivers stated that this was not what she expected from the government, but also condemned the riots. In the metropolitan area of the city, in less populated areas, more peaceful protests have been organized by frustrated residents.

June 27

  • Schools across Bloxburg Valley have been temporarily closed. The Robloxia Department of Education has predicted the closure will last several days.
  • Bloxwaii has officially opened its shelters for evacuees, taking in the surplus from the Bloxington Islands shelters, which have recently become somewhat overcrowded.
  • The rest of the people of Greater Bloxburg City were mostly evacuated, mainly to Central Robloxia, Bloxwaii, Roregon, Bloxtana, Brickland, and Rohio. The city government representatives, officials, volunteers, and robloxians working on Operation Bloxburg Asteroid remained in the city, which was sped up by the eviction of robloxians, as the roads became less congested. The operation was then expanded to the rest of the cities in the area.
  • It is estimated that at this point there could have been almost 100,000 residents in the cities waiting out the disaster. Mayor Dr. Lina Rivers decided to conduct an operation to evict them. That day, 45,000 of these residents were displaced.
  • By the end of the day, the order was given to evacuate the remnants of the administration, volunteers, and government officials. As a result, the streets of Bloxburg were deserted.

June 28

  • During the night, Dr. Lina Rivers ordered another roundup of the remaining robloxians in the city. Police and volunteers often woke them up in the middle of the night and told them to pack up all their valuables. The operation resulted in the evacuation of another 30,000 robloxians.
  • Greater Bloxburg City was abandoned by a significant portion of the remaining robloxians organizing the evacuation. RASA sent specialists to observe the meteorite from the hills outside the city, while the last of the robloxians were evacuated.
  • Dr. Lina Rivers, the mayors of the cities of Greater Bloxburg City, volunteer leaders, and John Puma made their way to the outskirts of the city at the last moment before the meteorite impact.
  • On 10:00 AM, evacuations stopped due to the impact of the Bloxburg asteroid. 15,000 robloxians remain in Greater Bloxburg City as of the time the comet hit. Much of the city was destroyed and the death toll is estimated at fewer than 10,000.
