The June Affair is a political scandal in Robloxia related to the possible fraud of the 2024 Robloxian presidential election, which was initiated after the Progressive Party candidate John Puma revealed various irregularities. This resulted in many protests and a significant decrease in trust in politicians. It is probably one of the biggest political scandals in Roblox in many years.
Background
After David "Builderman" Baszucki was elected president in 2004, Robloxia was plagued by numerous scandals, but they were hushed up and covered up by the police, staffed by officers from the Corporatist Party. This also happened in his second term after his victory in 2014. The 2024 elections scheduled for November 6, 2024 gave Robloxians hope for change and an improvement in the quality of life. Several candidates entered the race for president: David Baszucki (Corporatist Party), Peakala Harris (Robloxian Reform Party), John Puma (Progressive Party), Mason Smith (Robloxian Conservative Party), and Donald Trumpblox (Robloxian Conservative Party). Later, Jackson Moris (Robloxian Conservative Party) also announced his candidacy. Kathleen Halsing (Independent Party) tried to register, but the deadline to register her candidacy did not allow her, although she herself believed she was a candidate and requested voters to write her name in the ballot. All candidates fought a close race for the presidency. The biggest favorites were Peakala Harris, Mason "Scorpio" Smith, and Donald Trumpblox, although smaller candidates could also count on a reversal of the situation. Ultimately, the election took place on the announced date. The official results of the popular vote were as follows:
- David Baszucki - 8.8%
- Peakala Harris - 19.9%
- Jackson Moris - 0.1%
- John Puma - 6.2%
- Mason Smith - 34.67%
- Donald Trumpblox - 28.5%
Although the decisive result in the Electoral College did not arouse suspicion, the popular vote result was atypical. Percentage of Jackson Morris was significantly lower than in the polls, and Donald Trumpblox's votes were unusually high. Despite this, no election protest was filed, and Jackson Morris was forced to concede defeat. Theoretically, some deficiencies could already be noticed then, such as the fact that 1.979% of the votes were missing, which were probably deemed invalid and not assigned to any candidates, but for some reason were included in the results. John Puma said he noticed some suspicious things in the election results, but he believes they were more likely to be errors on the part of the electoral commission than an attempt at fraud. Mason "Scorpio" Smith was soon sworn in as president.
Revealing the scandal
John Puma stated that the case interested him a few weeks after the election, when he allegedly contacted several members of the electoral commission in December. From that time, he began to secretly collect examples of negligence and irregularities in the electoral commissions, noting that the most were in favor of Trumpblox and against Morris. He also began to study the results in the polls a few days before the election and their comparison with the results of the election, and hired several political analysts and a private investigator. He introduced his brother, Andrew Puma, to the case and began collecting information. It is possible that they reached several important members of the electoral commission. With the help of analysts, John Puma estimated the actual number of elections, which he claimed were confirmed by anonymous people he reached. On June 13, 2025, after several months, he revealed the scandal. Soon, numerous protests began in Robloxia, and John Puma himself filed an election protest, demanding a recount of votes. He stated that he did not dispute Mason "Scorpio" Smith's victory, as he may have had more votes than the official results, but he believed that someone associated with the Conservatives or Corporatists could have rigged the results, of which if successful, could led to the person being prosecuted. On June 14, it was officially announced that the votes would be recounted and any irregularities would be checked. The election protest was successful. As a result of the scandal, many people's opinions of a significant portion of politicians suffered significantly. According to published estimates of the results, David "Builderman" Baszucki actually had about 2% less, Peakala Harris had 1% more, Jackson Morris had about 13% more, John Puma had about 1% more, Mason "Scorpio" Smith had about 2% less and Trumpblox had as much as 8% less. On June 22, 2025, John Puma finally found out that Mason "Scorpio" Smith, the president of Robloxia, was found rigging the electoral results. He was prosecuted, and then impeached a second time and brought to Robloxian justice. If the impeachment is successful, Mason Scorpio Smith will be removed and may be disqualified from office. The Robloxian government is yet to determine if an election should occur or if the vice president should fill in if the president is removed.
Protests
The revelation of the scandal has led to numerous protests that have swept across Robloxia, in particular, capitals of the states that won the Progressive Party's electoral votes. There have been smaller, independent riots, as well as more peaceful, planned demonstrations. On June 15, 2025, in Robloxia City, John Puma and Jackson Moris organized a march, the purpose of which was to raise public awareness of the scandal and express the need for the head of state to address the affair.
Official investigation
The decision to recount the votes has already been made, although many people believe that it is not enough. Progressive Party Vice Chairman Mark Johnson stated that a special commission in Congress should be created to investigate the June Affair and election irregularities. He was supported by public opinion and many politicians, especially from the Progressive Party, Independent Party and various minor parties. Both President Mason "Scorpio" Smith and Vice President Matthew Smith have not yet addressed the scandal, although it has clearly shaken the political scene of Robloxia.
Recount
Recount began on June 19, 2025 in some states after several days of preparation. Due to the short time to prepare, the recount was spread over several days, but the recount data was not released until July 1, 2025.
