This sound was created by Hanna-Barbera sound editor Greg Watson, rapidly slapping his hand palms on the leather sofa in Bill Hanna's office. It debuted in Hanna-Barbera cartoons between 1950s and 1960s, but it is currently to be announced which one first used it. In 1993, Sound Ideas added it to the Hanna-Barbera Sound Effects Library. Then, it made its way to other studios (The Walt Disney Company, Warner Bros, etc.) and is commonly heard in lots of media. |
