Telamonium is a Telamonian chain of discount stores and hypermarkets operating in Telamon Islands, Robloxia, and various countries of Aquaria.
History
The company was founded in Dush West Telamon in 1925 under the name of Na Huahana Telamona, where Telamonian products were sold. The founder was Makatu Keoni, a Telamonian nationalist of Neo-Japanese descent. His company may have been involved in smuggling weapons into Rogaulian Telamon. During its first years of operation, 63 stores were opened in Dush West Telamon. In 1930, the company became heavily indebted due to the Great Depression and went bankrupt the following year. After the depression ended, Makatu Keoni revived his company in 1935 under the same name. The company soon gained popularity and began opening stores in Bloxian Telamon as well. A year later, Makatu Keoni died, and his nephew, Makatu Nohea, took over the company, renaming Na Huahana Telamona to Telamonium in 1938.
It is possible that Makatu Nohea was connected to the Legions of the Sun, as during his time the company supported the independence movement and later the rule of Lanakila Mikala. Before Roblox War II, Telamonium was the largest chain of stores run by Telamonians. After the Telamon Islands declared independence, Telamonium also began building stores in the former Rogaulian Telamon. Soon, Neo-Japan invaded Telamon Islands, and Telamonium shifted production to equipment that could be useful in the war. When Baoji City was occupied, Makatu Nohea, who was stationed there, was offered to colaborate, but he rejected the offer and defected to guerrilla units. During the war, the stores were largely left to their own devices, although underground organizations began to set up evacuation points in some abandoned stores, helping occupied robloxians reach the unoccupied south of the country.
After the war, Makatu Nohea continued operations and, during the post-war reconstruction, strengthened his company, which gained a significant reputation. He entered into a series of cooperation agreements, including an agreement with Mauna Kola. The company began to expand even further, eventually reaching over 5,000 stores by 1959. In 1963, the first stores opened in other parts of Aquaria. In 1967, the first stores opened in Bloxwaii. By 1970, the company had over 25,000 stores. Soon, it began to expand even further. It soon became one of the largest retail chains in Roblox. Telamonium stores could be found in both villages and cities, in various apartment blocks and shopping malls. In 1971, the company entered the Vista Union market, which became the second largest after Telamonian. In 1977, Makatu Nohea decided to expand the company to the rest of Robloxia. Stores were also established in the Catfish Islands. Makatu Nohea died in 1982, 46 years after assuming management of the company.
His grandson, Makatu Lanakila, took over the reins, although he also brought in numerous new investors and entrepreneurs. He retired in 1989 and left the company to Apelahama Kawika, who had previously served as his advisor. The new manager further expanded the store network, officially opening its 50,000th store in 1994. During this time, he made numerous successful investments, including overseas ones. In 2002, he purchased Mauna Kola, gaining a significant asset. In 2003, construction of the Grand Telamonium Center in Hele Aku was completed. It is a single, large hypermarket resembling a shopping mall, with additional stores paying rent to the company. In 2008, Telamonium Park, an entertainment center located near Maliblox City, opened. Meanwhile, construction also began on Telamon Waves, Roblox's largest water park, located in Telamon Islands. Telamonium became one of several major investors. In 2019, Apelahama Kawika retired, leaving behind significant progress. Then, the company was taken over by entrepreneurs from Neo-Japan, though they sold it to other Telamonians in 2021. Currently, there are approximately 94,000 Telamonium stores, including over 79,000 in Telamon Islands. It is the largest retail chain in Roblox.
