Neo-Sacramento is a city situated within the Robloxian state of Bloxburg Valley, specifically in Sacramento County. Established in 1906 by immigrants from Neo-Japan and Korbloxia (North and South), it lies in the Sacramento Bay Area, directly south of Sacramento and north to Silverton, with its northern boundary aligning closely with the southern border of Sacramento. Additionally, it shares its eastern border with San Fernandox.
With a population of approximately 764,000, as reported by the 2020 national census, it ranks among the most populous areas in both the state and Sacramento County. Furthermore, it holds the distinction of being the most densely populated region within the county. Significantly, 87.2% of Neo-Sacramento's residents are of mixed Baojian and Bloxmerican (North and South) heritage.
Neo-Sacramento serves as a prominent technological hub and is home to GLOBE, a leading hologram enterprise, as well as the Neo-Sacramento Technology Institute (NSTI) and various beaches. This advanced city is often referred to as "Cyberpunk City." With a substantial GDP that exceeds that of cities like Berlox, Neo-Sacramento has produced numerous young talents in the fields of economics and technology, including notable figures such as Elon Crust, who either graduated from or were born in the city.
Neo-Sacramento boasts one of the lowest illiteracy rates in Robloxia, attributed to its extensive and progressive educational institutions. The city's current mayor is Noah Alburg, with Jason Krostin serving as his vice-president. Projections indicate that if the city continues on its current trajectory, it may reach a population of approximately 1,500,000 by 2032. Additionally, Neo-Sacramento has plans to construct a smaller island near Brookhaven, which will serve as another distinct area of the city, featuring transportation options via both sea and air.
History
In 1906, Sacramento experienced a significant earthquake that resulted in extensive damage to the city. The mayor at the time, William Alburg, faced challenges in managing the local economy. Noticing that a substantial portion of the city's expenses was attributed to immigrants from Korbloxia and the Neo-Japanese Empire, he made the decision to expel them from Sacramento.
In response to this situation, the displaced immigrants congregated and relocated to the southwest of Sacramento, with the aim of establishing a new city. This led to the founding of Neo-Sacramento. The first mayoral elections took place in 1911, at which point the city was officially recognized as a village within Robloxia. Subsequently, Neo-Sacramento spent several years striving for development.
During Roblox War II, a significant event occurred when a commercial transaction of ⏣5 billion ($6 million) between Robloxia and Northvalk resulted in approximately ⏣1 billion ($1.2 million) falling from the aircraft transporting the funds, landing directly in Neo-Sacramento. The government capitalized on this unexpected windfall, leading to the phrase "It Fell from the Sky." By 1947, Neo-Sacramento had achieved a stable and prosperous economy. However, recognizing that a large portion of the population still lived in poverty, Mayor Andrew-Van-Himong initiated efforts in 1949 that continued until the conclusion of the Robloxian Cold War, aimed at elevating the residents to a high-income status. His initiatives proved successful, resulting in the expansion and prosperity of Neo-Sacramento, which saw its population grow to 61,566 by 1970, officially earning city status.
In the following years, the NSTI was established as a local institution offering courses in technology and economics. The 1990s saw significant investments aimed at transforming Neo-Sacramento into a technological hub, giving the city a distinct cyberpunk aesthetic. The city's evolution seemed assured; however, in 2000, during the celebration of the new century, a devastating fire struck the NSTI, resulting in the tragic loss of 12 lives and injuries to 3 individuals. Fortunately, most students were successfully evacuated and remained unharmed.
In 2006, the population of the city reached 650,295 residents, establishing it as one of the most densely populated areas within the Sacramento Bay Area. Many individuals regard Neo-Sacramento as one of the principal cities in the Bay.
In 2003, Hurricane Cedar struck Neo-Sacramento, resulting in significant flooding throughout the city and displacing numerous residents. Following the hurricane's passage, initiatives were implemented to mitigate the risk of future disasters. The city did not achieve full restoration until five years later.
In 2015, a mini-earthquake caused hidden oil reserves in the Dylanville neighborhood to explode, causing chaos in the neighborhood, leaving around 67 people injured and, luckily, no fatalities.
Geography
Neo-Sacramento features a diverse geographical landscape. The coastal regions of the city exhibit relatively flat terrain; however, as one progresses inward, the topography becomes increasingly characterized by slopes, hills, and several mountains, with elevations reaching as high as 877 meters (2646 Studs).
Economy
The economy of Neo-Sacramento primarily derives from businesses and the household appliances sector. In the early days of the city, its economy was predominantly rural; however, with the swift growth of Neo-Sacramento, it transitioned towards a more urbanized economic structure.
Climate
The climate of Neo-Sacramento is temperate Mediterranean, in which the city's temperature is mild all year round. This means that the summer there is quite windy and the winter is cold. The average temperature in the city of Bloxburg Valley is around 19°C, reaching 24°C in summer and 7°C in winter. However, in 2023, several cities in Robloxia were having anomalous weather (i.e. summer months are cold, and winter months are warmer). It is classified as CSC in the Röppen scale.
