History

The city of Gillent was founded in 1332 by the 2nd president of Robloxian Empire, Erik Cassel II. A town hall, the Cassel family estate and a church (later a basilica) were built. In 1339, the Bloxyzantine envoys visited the city. Erik Cassel II died in the city eleven years later on October 24, 1343, and was later buried there.

In 1360, the next president, Erik Cassel III, was impeached after attempting to exterminate Nabes and was "exiled" to the Gillent. He lived there for another four years until his death. He was then buried next to his father.

In the 15th century, the Catacombs of Gillent were built near the graves of two Cassel presidents. These catacombs, only partially preserved, remain one of the city's greatest tourist attractions.

The city was besieged during the Bloody Bloxas between November and December 1743. At that time, the city surrendered and its inhabitants fled, but after General Benjamin Herbst's counteroffensive, they returned and the destroyed buildings were rebuilt.

On June 5, 2026, the city mayor changed the name to Gillent due to the fact most cities in Central Robloxia had the word "hills" in the name.
