The Rockers were a Robloxian pop rock band which was formed on April 15, 1963 and eventually split up throughout 1969. The band was founded by Jack Marks, Alan Whitaker, Michael Rowan and Joseph "Joe" Calder with members such as Richard Buford, Daniel Crowe, Stephen Franklin, Edward Mill, Joseph Harrison, and Jack “Harry” Doyle joining and leaving at different points in the band’s history. The group was also considered to be “highly volatile” due to a considerable amount of members joining and leaving throughout the band’s history.

History

The band was formally founded on April 15, 1963 by Jack Marks, Alan Whitaker, Michael Roman and Joseph “Joe” Calder. Following the band’s formation it began its outreach locally, performing in venues and clubs across Robloxia City, D.C. and gained recognition quickly in its city for their unique style that were connected to new evolving genres. Most of the band’s songs were among the rock and roll, and pop rock genres. Their first recordings were independent demos and small regional releases, but they rose to national attention after the release of the song “We Are Here” in 1964. The song was labelled as a “product of a musical genius” with it being co-written by Jack Marks and Daniel Crowe. The song later became considered the breakthrough hit for the band. Following this success, The Rockers released several singles and albums that topped music charts in Robloxia, performed on television programs, and were also used in national tours by the band. Despite commercial success, the band faced internal conflicts, particularly during 1968. In July 1968, Richard Buford was kicked out of the band due to most fans focusing on him in many songs. The decision was made by one of the member and was agreed by only a few of the members with the group’s views being significantly divided.

After the controversial removal of lead vocalist Richard Buford, tensions rose, and the group’s internal conflicts soon became known ro the general public during the same year. By January 1969, the band had begun to split up gradually, with members pursuing solo careers, joining other bands, doing smaller collaborations, or eventually leaving the music industry. Despite the group’s controversial collapse, it is remembered as one of the most popular and significant rock bands of the 1960s and has a long lasting legacy.
