Edward Davidson Mill (January 1, 1943 – March 15, 2023) was a Robloxian musician, best known as a drummer for the pop rock band The Rockers. He was one of the early members of the band and contributed to its initial recordings and live performances during the early 1960s.
Early life and education
Edward Davidson Mill was born on January 1, 1943, in Robloxia City, D.C., to Thomas Brown Mill and Clara Louise Mill. He grew up in a working-class neighborhood and attended Central City High School. Mill had an interest in percussion and rhythm from an early age and enjoyed listening to rock and roll stars such as Luther Carson.
Life and career
Mill began performing professionally in 1961, playing with various local rock and blues groups. In May 1964, he joined The Rockers as the band’s drummer during its early period. Mill played on the band’s early demos and was part of live performances in clubs and small venues around Robloxia City.
Mill performed in numerous recordings including “We Are Here” (1964) in late 1964, which was its breakthrough. He performed with the group until 1966, leaving shortly before Stephen Franklin joined as keyboardist. After departing from the band, Mill worked as a drummer for film tracks.
Death
Edward Mill died on March 15, 2023, at the age of 80 due to a heart disease. He remains well recognised as a significant member of The Rockers.
