As a new editor, we welcome you to Robloxiapedia! By contributing to our platform, you will become a Robloxiapedian, and we appreciate your interest in our community. However, before you start, we want to ensure that you are aware of our rules and guidelines.

Firstly, we want you to know that not everything on Robloxiapedia is verifiable. We do our best to ensure that the information we provide is accurate, but some things may not have third-party sources to back them up. In such cases, we ask that you refrain from changing what's already on the platform, as it may lead to false information being inserted. If you do so, you may receive a warning, be blocked, or even banned from the platform. If no third-party sources can be found on a topic, then it should have a separate article. That being said, we do accept topics that are verifiable and relevant to our community. These may include (this is not an exhaustive list):

  • Films
  • Series
  • Characters
  • Places
  • Theme Parks
  • Disasters
  • RSCPs

Please note that some topics in Robloxiapedia are restricted to certain users due to recent trends. See Robloxiapedia:Overused Topics for the current list of overused topics.

If you're unsure whether a topic is relevant or not, please search Robloxiapedia first to ensure that an article does not already exist on the subject.

While we do not provide article wizards like some other platforms, we believe that anybody can create an article. However, please note that all articles will be reviewed by our staff to ensure that they meet our standards and guidelines. Unlike Wikipedia, we do not have a backlog, and your article should appear on our platform in an unreviewed state. The Robloxiapedia staff will then review it.

We recommend that you take some time to learn about the basics of editing before you start creating new articles. Working on existing Robloxiapedia articles is a great way to learn our protocols and style conventions.

The basics

First, please be aware that Robloxiapedia is an encyclopedia written by Robloxiapedians. Robloxiapedia's aim is to share fanon for the benefit of Robloxiapedians who want to learn. While it may seem like social media at times, a platform to promote everything related to Roblox, or a place to advocate for or against any topic, it's essential to keep in mind that Robloxiapedia has to keep those things to a minimum. In other words, Robloxiapedia has to strictly adhere to what Wikipedia is not.

As a Robloxiapedia user, you have the option to find "knowledge" from various sources such as books, reputable publishers, respected newspapers, peer-reviewed scientific and academic journals, literature reviews, and other sources with a reputation for fact-checking and accuracy. However, it's important to note that random personal websites, blogs, forum posts, Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter content, self-published sources like open wikis (including other Robloxiapedia articles), and even your head can be sources as well. But, before we can use these sources, we have to put them in a Roblox setting. This means that anything you write on Robloxiapedia must be in a Roblox setting, not on Earth's setting.

Here are some tips that can help you with your first Robloxiapedia article:

  • Firstly, you need to register an account and choose a username that's appropriate and not offensive. You can create a password or use your existing Google, Facebook, Apple, or Twitch account to sign in. However, due to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), if we find out that you're under 13 years old in Robloxiapedia, we will block you until you turn 13. However, FANDOM may intervene with this.
  • Before you start writing your article, it's best to practice first and edit existing articles to get a feel for writing and using Robloxiapedia's mark-up language.
  • You can also search Robloxiapedia to see if an article already exists on the subject you want to write about. If it already exists, you can make any constructive edits to improve it. Note that citing sources is not required in Robloxiapedia, unlike other encyclopedias. However, if the page is owned by a Robloxiapedia staff, the staff might doubt its authenticity.

For instance, if you write that the sky is blue, the Sun is sunny, or the water is wet, in an article owned by a user, (WARNING: Do not try this anywhere in Robloxiapedia except your sandbox, lest your edits will be reverted for a lack of contextual information.) Robloxiapedia contributors will not mind at all. But, if you do the same thing in an article owned by a staff, they may delete your edit in some cases. However, they will usually build upon your edit and respect your interpretation of the Roblox universe. If you find a source saying that the water is dry, then that's optional, and Robloxiapedia staff won't care much. They may remove it, but at least you've practiced citing sources.

  • No article on the subject exists? Okay, now you need to try to determine if the subject you want to write about is about Roblox. Ask yourself the question:
  • "Is this about Roblox?"

  • Before writing an article on Robloxiapedia, it is important to ensure that it is related to Roblox or discusses the topic from a Roblox point of view. Any article that does not fulfill this criterion will be deleted by the Robloxiapedia staff speedily. (EXCEPTION: However, if you write about a subject from a Roblox point of view, even if it is not directly related to Roblox, you will be pardoned by the staff.)

It is essential to note that no amount of editing can help an article that is not about Roblox or written from a non-Robloxian universe's point of view. Therefore, it is crucial to clarify whether the subject is about Roblox before investing time and effort in creating an article. To determine this, ask yourself if the article is about Roblox. If you are unsure, you can seek help from the Robloxiapedia Discussions forum.

  • When assessing an article, the Robloxiapedia staff will read it to determine if it meets the Robloxian universe's standard. For instance, an article on Earth, which is not in the Robloxian universe, was written from a Robloxian point of view and was pardoned. However, had it not been written from a Robloxian point of view, it would have violated the above policy, and the creator would have been punished. In the event that you want to write an article about something unrelated to Roblox but written from another universe's point of view, you must ensure that it is written from the Robloxian universe's context. Otherwise, the article will not be permissible, regardless of how well written it is. Citing sources is optional, but if you do so, it is advisable to include them in a staff-owned page. The Robloxiapedia staff is skeptical of content that lacks credible sources. However, users who have a Roblox account can put themselves in the wiki without disclosing a conflict of interest.
  • We will not ask you to demonstrate; that is left to the Robloxiapedia viewers/editors/staff to decide.
  • We will not stress you to cite sources. That is optional. But do it in a staff-owned page and we will have a bout of skepticism, then we will build on to your article.
  • Robloxiapedia users may put themselves in the wiki. Unlike Wikipedia, you do not have to disclose any conflicts of interest. However, it is important to note that revealing private information, such as your face, is not allowed on the site. To ensure the safety and privacy of all users, it is important that you do not add any personal information while editing your user pages or pages related to your Robloxian character. The content you add should be from a universal Robloxian context, so that it can be relevant and helpful to all users of the wiki.

If any content is found to be inappropriate or in violation of Robloxiapedia's policies, it may be deleted, and users may be warned or even blocked or banned from the site. Therefore, it is advisable to adhere to the community guidelines and ensure that all content added to the site is relevant, safe, and helpful to the Roblox community.

  • Robloxiapedia does not have an article wizard.
These points are explained in further detail below.

If you are logged in, you can also use this box below to create an article, by entering the article name in the box below and then clicking "Create page".

Search for an existing article

The English Robloxiapedia already has 11,743 articles currently available. If you're interested in creating an article of your own, it's helpful to do some research beforehand to ensure that you're not duplicating an existing article under a slightly different name. So, before you start writing, take some time to search the wiki for similar articles on the topic you want to cover.

When creating a new article, make sure to review the basics of article creation first. If you find that an article on your topic already exists, but you think Robloxians might search for it under a different name or spelling, learn how to create redirects to alternative titles. Doing so can make it easier for readers to find the information they're looking for. Additionally, be sure to check the article's deletion log before creating it. If it has been deleted in the past, you may still be able to create a new version of the article if the previous deletion was due to reasons such as:

  • Vandalism and problems
    • Copyright violation
    • Spam
    • Vandalism
  • Maintenance
    • Author request
    • Housekeeping
    • Marked for deletion
  • Redirects
    • Broken redirect
    • Unused redirect
    • Redirect left from pagemove

You MUST not create a new version of the article if the previous deletion was due to it containing:

  • adult content
  • disturbing content

If you're having trouble finding an existing article on your topic, try broadening your search to include related articles that might already cover some of the same information. For instance, if you want to write about a specific band member, you could search for the band's article and then create a new section within that article to highlight your subject. By doing so, you'll be able to contribute to the growing body of knowledge on Roblox while also avoiding duplication and redundancy.

Is it new? Type, then click "Go (try title)"

Gathering references

As a contributor to Robloxiapedia, it is important to gather reliable sources to support any information you plan to include in your articles. These sources should be reputable, fact-checked, and exercise some form of editorial control. While print sources, such as books, newspapers, and magazines, are generally considered the most reliable, some web-only sources may also be trustworthy.

It's important to note that any subject included in Robloxiapedia must exist in the world of Roblox. If you're unsure whether a subject meets this criterion, simply search for the subject name followed by "Roblox" to see if it generates any search results. If it does, the subject is eligible for inclusion in Robloxiapedia.

When gathering sources, it's important to keep in mind that sources with no editorial control are generally not reliable. However, if you choose to use such a source, make sure it doesn't contradict any information provided by reliable sources. Examples of sources with no editorial control include self-published 'zines', blogs, web forums, personal social media, fan sites, and vanity websites that permit the creation of self-promotional articles.

If you're having trouble finding sources for your article or aren't sure how to properly cite them, the Robloxiapedia staff are available to assist you. Once you have your sources, it's important to properly integrate them into your article. This can be done manually or with the help of the staff.

It's important to note that while Roblox may not have a long-written history, it's still important to properly cite any sources that you use for copyright reasons.

Things to add, but sparingly:

Or, as I like to call it: What Robloxiapedia should rarely have, if any:

Articles that show true information about your personally involved subjects:
EXCEPTION: If the article involves personal information about yourself, your family or friends, your website, a band you're in, your teacher, or a story you wrote, you can do so from a Robloxian point of view, but please do it without disclosing true personal information about the people involved. This means that you can write about your experiences, opinions, and observations, but you should avoid revealing information that would allow others to identify you or anyone else personally. However, if you are writing about your website, a band you are in, or a story you wrote, you may disclose true information about these subjects. It is important to note that Robloxiapedia takes privacy and safety seriously, and any article that includes personal information that could put someone at risk will be removed. So, if in doubt, it is always better to err on the side of caution and avoid sharing sensitive information.)
If you think that someone or something that you are personally associated with deserves to be included in this platform, you are encouraged to add that article. It could be an excellent way to increase the article count and make Robloxiapedia the only active Roblox Fanon wiki in FANDOM. However, it is crucial to keep in mind that personal information of individuals should never be shared on the platform. Although you may be tempted to add true personal information about your friends to make the article more authentic, doing so puts their privacy at risk. If someone's personal information is shared without their consent, they may feel uncomfortable and may pressure the platform to speedily delete the article. If you try to recreate such an article repeatedly, even after being advised against doing so, you may end up getting blocked or banned from editing the platform. To avoid such situations, it is recommended that you make use of false information instead. While it may lead to the loss of a friend, you can always explain to them that it is for the betterment of Robloxiapedia. However, it is essential to keep in mind that adding false information is not encouraged either. As such, it may be better to abandon the process altogether. It is worth noting that Robloxiapedia's fanbase is currently quite small, and the platform is not allowed to change its URL to robloxiapedia.fandom.com due to this reason.
Advertising
As a friendly reminder, please refrain from promoting anything other than Roblox on this platform. While we welcome articles about Roblox experiences, we kindly request you to use Robloxian analogies and present them from a neutral point of view, unless the topic is not notable enough to have a neutral point of view. We understand that you may have a conflict of interest, and that is perfectly acceptable in Robloxiapedia. However, if your conflict of interest is more about deleting a particular page, please let us know, and we will assist you in removing the page. While creating content, we recommend that you support your statements with references from reliable sources that are independent of the subject you are writing about. Additionally, please avoid adding external links unless you are linking to Roblox's official website.
Attacks on a person or organization
Some of the articles on Robloxiapedia may contain negative information or comments that may threaten, defame, or harass either their subject or another entity. It is important to note that while Robloxiapedia strives to maintain a neutral point of view, such threats, defamations, and harassments must be balanced or removed. This is done to ensure that the articles remain fair and unbiased. In particular, negative information, especially in articles about Robloxians who exist in real life, is quickly removed. Our staff will not balance them as this is considered a waste of their time. Furthermore, attack pages about Robloxians that exist in real life will be deleted speedily or balanced.
Personal essays or original research
Robloxiapedia might be a place where users can publish their own original ideas and work. Users may write articles presenting their own stuff. The platform allows users to write articles in a conspiracy theory category for their ideas. However, it's important to note that Robloxiapedia staff reserve the discretion to use the conspiracy theory category for the ideas they find too powerful to be contained in the platform. This doesn't necessarily mean that the staff disliked your theory, but rather that they found it exceptionally powerful. Therefore, if you have a theory that you believe is too powerful for other platforms, Robloxiapedia may be an excellent place to publish it.
Topics not related to Roblox EXCEPTION: Robloxiapedia will pardon users if they write a topic not related to Roblox, but told from the Robloxian universe's POV
It has been observed that users tend to add topics that are not related to Roblox on Robloxiapedia. While we appreciate your enthusiasm, it is important to note that Robloxiapedia is not a platform to create your own universe and represent it from your point of view. (Update: We have allowed parallel universes in Robloxia, but we reserve the right to close the interuniversal gates at anytime. In fact, just ignore everything below this, but do note that the below content can be enforced anytime.) In essence, Robloxiapedia is similar to Wikipedia and does not have space limitations of printed encyclopedias. In fact, it even surpasses the notability limitation (meaning that your subject does not have to be popular for it to get a page). The only constraints are your imagination and your willingness to filter it down to two areas, that is, those related to Roblox and those that are not, but still willing to write it from a Robloxian perspective. Therefore, if you are unwilling to abide by these guidelines, we regret to inform you that we do not entertain articles related to Minecraftia (or any other universe for that matter) and their connections outside the Robloxian universe. In such cases, your article will be removed, and you will be warned or blocked from Robloxiapedia. Our staff members are always ready to assist you and suggest creating your own wiki if you wish to continue down this path. Robloxiapedia is not a place where you can host your own non-Robloxian universe and write it from that universe's point of view.
Only a website link
Robloxiapedia will not tolerate articles that are just website links.
Blank
Robloxiapedia will not tolerate articles that are just blank. Add infoboxes and text.
Only infoboxes
Robloxiapedia will not tolerate articles that are just infoboxes. Add text.

Be careful about:

Copying things without giving a Robloxian universe analogy treatment. Do not make Robloxiapedia staff do it! Plus do not violate copyright.
It is essential to remember that copying and pasting text into a Robloxiapedia article is not permissible unless you are willing to treat the content with the Robloxian universe analogies. Otherwise, you are putting additional burden on the staff, who have to police, treat, and manage the typical contributor life. This can lead to burnout and lack of willingness to contribute productively to Robloxiapedia. In addition, it is also considered as plagiarism. It is important to note that most sources you find on the internet are not in the public domain, and most song lyrics are also not in the public domain. Consequently, most materials published after a particular year and nearly all works written since January 1, 1978, are automatically protected by copyright under the Copyright Act of 1976, even if they do not have a copyright notice or © symbol. Please do not make the excuse of citing copyright policies of the Robloxian universe, as legal firms on Earth do not understand the Robloxian universe. If you plan on using copy-pasted content that you cannot treat with the Robloxian analogies, it must be in the public domain. It is crucial to be prepared to defend your actions against the staff in case they find out. A common defense technique against staff is to explain where you got the content and why it is in the public domain. If the staff challenges you, you may be pardoned, warned, blocked, or banned for plagiarism charges. Finally, please note that making superficial modifications to the content, such as minor rewording, is insufficient to avoid plagiarism and copyright violations. EXCEPTION: Robloxiapedia will pardon users who treat their text to the Robloxian analogies no matter how superficial the treatment is.
Good research and citing your sources
When it comes to writing articles about Roblox, it's important to ensure that the information presented is accurate and verifiable. While it may be tempting to write articles about things that don't actually exist in Roblox.com, it's always better to stick to topics that are grounded in reality. However, even when writing about real things in Roblox, it can be difficult to verify certain information. That's why it's important to do thorough research using the best sources available and to cite them properly. In addition to ensuring the accuracy of your articles, it's also important to avoid plagiarism. This means not copying text directly from other sources and instead, using your own words to describe the information you're presenting. If you do use text from other sources, be sure to properly cite them and use Robloxiapedia analogies to put the information in your own words. When creating articles for Robloxiapedia, it's important to remember that even short articles can be useful launching pads for other users. Many articles on Robloxiapedia consist of just a single sentence with some useful information. While users are not required to notify others that their article is short, they should let others know if their article is very long (over 12,000 bytes) out of respect for users who may not be able to view the page.
Articles or statements about living Robloxians who exist in real life too!
Remember to take extra care when writing articles about real-life Roblox players, as they are subject to high scrutiny. It's important for Robloxiapedia users to thoroughly fact-check their content, as any false information could significantly damage the credibility of the article.
Advocacy and controversial material
When contributing to Robloxiapedia, users are expected to ensure that their articles provide comprehensive coverage of all significant and specific perspectives on topics such as politics, religion, and other similarly important subjects. It's important for us to remind users of this in order to uphold the quality and fairness of the content.
Articles that contain different definitions of the topic
Articles within Robloxiapedia should primarily focus on explaining what something is rather than providing definitions for specific terms. Content that resembles a dictionary entry may be subject to speedy deletion, as Robloxiapedia is not intended to function as a dictionary. Instead, Robloxiapedia encourages its contributors to compose a concise yet informative initial paragraph that outlines the subject matter, accompanied by additional relevant material.
Organization
Robloxiapedia contributors are expected to include a minimum of one category in each article they create. Failure to adhere to this requirement might result in the Robloxiapedia staff experiencing difficulties in managing the content. If a relevant category doesn't already exist, users have the option to either establish it or forego adding the article to a category. It's important for Robloxiapedia users to understand that certain categories are designated for notification purposes and are not considered in the overall category count.
Local-interest articles
When creating articles for Robloxiapedia, it's important to ensure that local-interest articles reflect the uniqueness and special features of the place. If the article doesn't demonstrate what sets the place apart from the thousands of similar places in Roblox, it may be subject to deletion upon request. Adding photographs can make the article more engaging, and incorporating local color can also enhance its appeal. Including a link to Roblox is sufficient evidence that the place exists in the Roblox community and should therefore be included in the wiki. However, it's advisable to be prepared in case the Robloxiapedia staff decide to visit the place for verification purposes.
Breaking news events
Robloxiapedia accepts articles about recent events, including disasters.
Editing on the wrong page
If you're looking to make a new page on Robloxiapedia, you may encounter a blank edit box when you begin. However, if the editing box contains pre-existing text that you didn't input, you might be unintentionally editing an existing page. In such a case, refrain from using "SAVE" to add your content; instead, start the process anew.

Are you closely connected to the article topic?

As a user, it is important to note that you may have a close connection to the topic of the article you are working on, and that is perfectly fine. However, as a responsible editor, you must follow certain regulations while writing and editing the content.

Robloxiapedia editors are encouraged to write about individuals, companies, organizations, products/services, or political causes that are related to the Robloxian universe, even if they have a direct or indirect connection with them. This includes in-house PR departments and marketing departments, other company employees, public relations firms and publicists, social-media consultants, and online reputation management consultants. Additionally, Robloxiapedia recognizes the contributions of users who have some affiliation with the articles they work on and appreciates their good faith contributions.

However, it is important to keep in mind that users who have to write an article under such constraints must follow those regulations. If you fail to adhere to these rules or attempt to game the system, your edits are likely to be reverted, and the articles and other edits may be subject to extra scrutiny from other Robloxiapedia editors. Your account may also be warned, blocked, or banned depending on the severity of the infraction.

Don't Do Optional
  • Add promotional language (Robloxiapedia pardons users who write "it is advertised as...", followed by promotional language)
  • Remove negative or critical text from an article (Robloxiapedia pardons users who balance negative/critical text with positive text)
  • Make a "group" account for multiple Robloxiapedians to share
  • Maintain a neutral, objective tone in any content you add or edit
  • Use independent, reliable sources (e.g., a major media article) for any new statements you add – even if you are confident a statement is true (e.g., it is about your work); make a statement only if it has been already published in a reliable source.
  • Make minor edits/corrections to articles (e.g., typos, fixing links, adding references to reliable sources)
  • If you are biased, get another Robloxiapedia user(s) to fix those biases for you!
  • Disclose your relationship to the client/topic.
  • Edit using personal accounts.
  • Request that a page be deleted. (Only for users who have a conflict of interest that wants to delete the page.)

Robloxiapedians are highly encouraged to write articles and create content on topics that are related to their area of expertise. For instance, if someone is a Store Director at a BloxStreet store, they could write about BloxStreet, or if someone is a fan of Calculated Studios, they could create content on Calculated Studios. Additionally, Robloxiapedians-in-residence or other Robloxiapedian contributor interns who are paid, hosted, or sponsored by a scientific or cultural institution can upload content and write articles in partnership with curators. This partnership indirectly provides positive branding for their hosts.

Create your article:

For very new Robloxiapedia contributors: It's always a good idea to draft your article before adding it to the main article space. It is recommended for you.

Before you start drafting your article on Robloxiapedia, it's always a good practice to go through several articles on the platform that deal with similar subjects to yours. This will help you get a sense of how such articles are formatted, the tone used, and the level of detail that is expected. However, it's important to keep in mind that the quality of Robloxiapedia's existing articles can vary, so it's best to pick the ones that are well-written and provide comprehensive information.

If you are an experienced editor on Robloxiapedia, you may already know the importance of looking at existing articles before creating or editing your own. By doing so, you can ensure that your article is consistent with the platform's standards and guidelines. It also gives you an opportunity to learn from other editors' work and incorporate their best practices into your own.

Once you have finished drafting your article, you can save it and submit it to the Robloxiapedia community. Keep in mind that while most users may not immediately view your article, anyone who comes across it has the right to improve it if they choose to do so. You can always edit your page whenever you want, even if you assume that no one else is improving it.

And then what?

Now that you have created the page, there are still several things you can do:

Keep making improvements

Robloxiapedia is not finished. This is why we do not archive Robloxiapedia pages. Generally, an article is nowhere near being completed the moment it is created. There is a long way to go. In fact, it may take you several edits just to get it started.

If you have so much interest in the article you just created, you may improve it in the future, and accordingly, have more to add. This may be later today, tomorrow, or several months from now. Any time – go ahead.

Improve formatting

It's important to ensure that you format it correctly and provide enough information to engage and impress both your readers and the Robloxiapedia staff.

It's worth noting that all users are free to contribute to Robloxiapedia, unless the creator of the article has revoked their editing privileges. As the creator of the article, you have a special right to control the content of the page, including the ability to restrict certain users from editing it. However, it's important to remember that all Robloxiapedia contributors are not born with the right to protect pages like creators do.

If you're feeling frustrated or upset about other Robloxiapedia users editing your article, it's important to take a deep breath and not let your emotions get the best of you. Remember that everyone has the right to contribute to Robloxiapedia, and that collaboration and cooperation are key to creating a successful and informative encyclopedia.

Add to a disambiguation page

If the term is ambiguous (meaning there are multiple pages using that or a similar title), see if there is a disambiguation page for articles bearing that title. If so, add a link to your article to that page.

Read a traditional encyclopedia

If you plan to write articles for Robloxiapedia, it is important to have a good understanding of the layout, style, tone, and other elements of encyclopedic content. One way to gain this understanding is to read traditional paper encyclopedia articles. While Robloxiapedia can be a helpful resource, we cannot guarantee that the information you find on it will meet our standards for quality and accuracy.

Therefore, before you start writing encyclopedia articles for Robloxiapedia, it is recommended that you have some background knowledge in formal writing as well as about the topic at hand. Taking a composition class in high school or college can be an excellent way to develop the skills you need to write high-quality articles.

It is entirely up to you which encyclopedia you choose to read in order to gain a better understanding of the writing style and tone you should use when writing for Robloxiapedia. However, keep in mind the ultimate goal of Robloxiapedia is to create an up-to-the-moment Roblox encyclopedia on fanon, provided it exists in Roblox. Therefore, when writing your articles, try to picture them being published in a paper encyclopedia to ensure that they meet the highest standards of quality and accuracy.
