Welcome to Spoken Robloxiapedia!
Spoken Robloxiapedia was a platform that aimed to provide a more accessible and inclusive way of consuming information for its users. It did so by offering links to the spoken version of articles and adding them into the Spoken Article category in Robloxiapedia. This feature was particularly useful for people who may have difficulty in reading or prefer listening to content.
It was important to note that the Spoken Article template may be added by only the first contributor and Robloxiapedia staff, and removed by Robloxiapedia staff and the first contributor. The first contributor is defined as the person who initially created the page.
Spoken versions were defined as the articles in Robloxiapedia being read aloud. If a user wanted to listen to the spoken versions of articles, they could find them in the Spoken Articles category. On the other hand, if they wanted to opt-out of a particular article, they could find instructions on how to do so in the Unspoken Articles category.
Overview
Why should your article opt-in?
Here are just some reasons why it was worthwhile having your article opt-in:
- Spoken articles made Robloxiapedia content available to those who can understand English but cannot read it.
- Users could listen to Robloxiapedia articles while they perform tasks that preclude reading but not concentration (such as running, or housework).
- Visually impaired users could use screen readers, but they may not be as accurate as a human vocal performance. This is particularly true of articles relating to science, mathematics, linguistics, and other areas commonly requiring unusual or unfamiliar pronunciation, or the use of symbols.
- They were a valuable learning tool for those learning English. If a link is given to the version of the page that was recorded then users may listen to the words while reading them.
- They were a valuable learning tool for auditory learners (people who learn most effectively by listening to information delivered orally).
- Some may find it easier to concentrate on an article while listening to it, especially in an environment with distracting sounds (with the use of headphones).
- In listening the articles aloud, readers could catch inconsistencies, redundancies, and awkward phrases not noticed by other editors, thus improving the written version of Robloxiapedia.
- While manually recording and editing articles can be time-consuming, and manual recordings are sometimes abandoned or have their source text dramatically changed before they are finished, Robloxiapedia used TTSReading technology (TTSReader) to ensure that we can create automatic recordings that automatically change no matter how dramatic the change is.
- While Robloxiapedia articles are constantly evolving, our audio versions stayed 100% accurate when compared with the current article.

Why should your article opt-out?
Here are just some reasons why it was worthwhile having your article opt-out:
- Conflicting pronunciations of Robloxian subjects can mislead Robloxiapedians of any language.
- There is no way to follow or indicate links.
- There is a bug in which Spoken Robloxiapedia may not work properly. Please contact staff if you see such an article. Update: Moreover, a devastating feature (causing Spoken Robloxiapedia to be unable to fetch pages and even require users to enable JavaScript to view Robloxiapedia (in general, Fandom) even though JavaScript was already enabled) proved to be so devastating that the entire project ended up being sunset altogether rather than requesting Fandom be once again viewable without JavaScript.

Alternatives
For Robloxiapedians wishing to listen to opted-out articles, Robloxiapedians who cringe at every incorrectly pronounced word by the software, or Robloxiapedians who cringe every time a link is not followed or indicated by the software, Spoken Robloxiapedia offered alternatives just in case it happens:
- Users could use their own voice and try not to miss words. However, if this is used in Spoken Robloxiapedia, their file will be expunged out of Robloxiapedia and they will be blocked in the encyclopedia for one day (three days if they are not in the Robloxiapedia Discord) for revealing private information (their voice). Project Lead's note: Fortunately, this never occurred during Spoken Robloxiapedia's history.

Awards
This project had no awards during its history because it is relatively trivial to have an article opt-in. In fact, it was so trivial that the paragraph below the heading that used to be renamed "Learn how your article can opt-in!" was just one command; users could just follow it and they are set for success on this project already.
