SebelstAir Linhas Aéreas S.A , doing business as SebelstAir, is a state-owned airline and the official flag carrier of the Democratic Republic of Sebelsti. As the only domestically-owned airline in the country[1], it is controlled by the Air Force of Sebelsti, which is also the majority shareholder in the company. The company is headquartered in Port Sebelsti, at SebelstAir Centre. Its main hub, is located at Nakoof International Airport, in Nakoof, the administrative capital of Sebelsti. As a carrier, it has existed since 1967 when the government launched a new aviation program to consolidate all of the smaller airlines.

SebelstAir also operates SebelstAir One, the presidential aircraft, as well as SebelstAir 2H, a private helicopter operated for government officials.

History

In 1967, the government of Sebelsti approved the merger of multiple privately owned airlines into one state owned carrier, Sebelsti Airlines. It was later changed to SebelstAir after the 1983 Revolution. It began serving international destinations, in 1987, flying three times a week to Noobwood, and to various destinations in Labublox with a code sharing agreement with Air Labublox. Before then, only a once-weekly flight to Egypti which was not operated by SebelstAir, was the only international flight available from the country.

Growth

Beginning in the 1990s, as Sebelsti began to open up to the rest of the world, more international flights were added to encourage tourism and foreign investment. In 1991, the airline began flying to Peking, Irabloxia, Telamon Islands, and layover services to the Republic of Bloxjiado. In 1993, seven aircraft were purchased from Telamon Airways, bringing its total fleet size to 20. In 1997, its headquarters was moved to a larger building in downtown Nakoof, to coincide with its 30th anniversary. By 2004, however, the existing airport in Nakoof was too small, leading to it expanding to nearby Port Sebelsti as a major focus city.

Decline and Revival

By 2010, the government had begun reducing the number of flights that SebelstAir served, in exchange for foreign international airlines to take over the routes, in a franchise agreement. However, in 2017, the company was restructured, and hired new employees and renovated much of its aircraft, leading to it being given a safety rating of 8.9/10, compared to its previous 6.1/10. Because of this, SebelstAir was allowed to resume flights to Bloxjiado.

2020s

In March 2020, SebelstAir canceled all of its international flights, citing the rapid spread of the pandemic. No regularly scheduled international flights operated to or from the country until June of that year, however, SebelstAir was the only company operating them, flying a round trip, once a day flight from Nakoof to Egypti. By January 2021, the company resumed most international flights, however, it was on a very limited schedule with small numbers of passengers. In October 2021, the company resumed normal operations, although only permitting vaccinated passengers to travel.

In March 2023, SebelstAir announced that they would purchase new Roeing 737 aircraft, as at the time, the airline had a fleet size of 15. The first jets were delivered in September 2023, and as of 2026, the fleet size is 23 aircraft.

Incidents and Accidents

In the company’s operational history, there have been no deadly incidents aboard SebelstAir flights, however there have been multiple non-fatal incidents occurring aboard SebelstAir flights, the first being in 1979, under Air Sebelsti, when a airplane flying from Labublox crashed after overshooting the runway, injuring 4 passengers. There have been minor incidents in 1984, 1988, 2002, 2009, 2017, and 2026.

On 15 February 2026, an Air Hokanda flight operating under a codeshare agreement with SebelstAir from Hokanda International Airport to Nakoof International Airport carrying 210 passengers and 7 crew was escorted by fighter jets and forced to land in Nakólândia after authorities suspected that a group of nine passengers aboard were working for the Global Furry Agency. 10 passengers were detained at the airport and were charged with smuggling fursuits and weapons into the country. The rest of the passengers were allowed on buses to Nakoof where they were allowed to disembark at the capital. It was revealed that the operation was conducted with the help of 2 passengers aboard who were working on behalf of the Sebelsti Government.

Corruption

It has been revealed that multiple SebelstAir executives were bribed by the Robloxian government into allowing them to access passenger information, although neither side has acknowledged it publicly.
