Nakoof, also spelled as Nakouf in Sebelstian, is the administrative and judicial capital and largest city of Sebelsti. The city is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in Sebelsti, being inhabited for nearly 1,000 years. The city is located in the Nakó River Basin, which gives the city its name. The city is located inland, in the centre of the country. It has an estimated population of 6,301,000, making it the largest city in the country. Despite being an inland city, Nakoof has served as a port city for over 300 years, because of its relatively warm climate and easy access to the Sebelstian Sea.

As one of the oldest cities in Sebelsti, it has served as the nation’s capital up until 2013, when the status of executive capital as well as legislative capital was transferred to Port Sebelsti, around 50 km away from Nakoof. It still retains status as the judicial capital, hosting the country’s high court, government offices and departments, diplomatic missions, and many key government institutions. It is also the seat of the National Party of Sebelsti, which has been the sole ruling party since the 1983 Revolution.
