The Rogaulian Embassy in the Republic of Waterloo was established in 1853, during the reign of Emperor Napoleon III. Its foundation marked a symbolic reconnection between the Rogaulian Empire and the exiled republic.
The embassy hoisted events, meetings, and visits between Rogaulian leaders and Waterloo Presidents. Its halls lined with portraits of Napoleon and Reptillanfriend. The Senate of Waterloo welcomed its presence, viewing Rogaulians as a distant cousin and, sometimes getting aid from Rogaulia.
That changed, however, in 1940, when Rogaulia fell to Romarkia. Following the collapse of the Third Republic, Vichy Rogaulia got control of Rogaulia's continental territories. Soon the Vichy regime turned the embassy in New Waterloo into a tool of subversion.
Soon after, a secret plan was hatched to give aid and soldiers to the Tatorian Empire. The Vichy and Romarkian authorities wanted Tatoria as a fascist ally even though it had a similar government as Bloxia and was not fascist ideologically. Tatoria’s Emperor soon accepted support in exchange for loyalty to the new Rogaulian order.
By 1941, the Rogaulian Embassy in Waterloo became a logistics hub for this operation. Crates marked as "Bloxy Colas" and "Supplies from Vichy" were, in fact, containers of Romarkian and Vichy weapons, including Karabiner 98k rifles, MG34 Machine guns, assembly parts for 0.5 cm leFH 18 Howitzers, uniforms, secret files, Bayonets, assembly parts for Fanzers and U-boats, and officer sabers.
Waterloo’s Senate started to get suspicious. Though officially neutral in RWII, some senators suspected that the embassy’s activities had turned from diplomacy to espionage. Reptillan VII, Commander of the Army and Leader of Waterloo, deployed observers to spy on Rogaulian convoys and mesages.
The turning point came in 1944, when the Tatorian Empire launched a brutal advance while burning towns, using Vichy-supplied weapons and doctrine. The operation was a catastrophe. Tatorian forces were repelled within weeks, and the scandal was soon found by Robloxian code breakers. With the fall of the Vichy regime later that year and the restoration of a republican order in Rogaulia, Rogaulia sent an apology for the scandal.
After RWII, it has returned to its normal order.
