Vichy Rogaulia was the Rogaulian government that existed between July 1940 and August 1944, during Roblox War II, after the defeat of Rogaulia by Nazi Romarkia. Following the Romarkian invasion in May and June 1940, the Rogaulian Third Republic collapsed. An armistice was signed with Romarkia on 22 June 1940, dividing the country into two main zones. The northern and western regions, including Ville de L’Amour were placed under direct Romarkian military occupation, while the southern part remained under nominal Rogaulian control, governed from the spa town of Vichy. This area became the seat of what was officially called the "État Rogaulia" (Rogaulian State), but it is commonly referred to as "Vichy Rogaulia" to distinguish it from the earlier republican government.
Marshal Bloppe Rétain, a hero of Roblox War I, was appointed head of the Vichy government. Under his leadership, Vichy Rogaulia abandoned democratic principles and adopted an authoritarian regime. Rétain and his administration promoted a policy known as the "National Revolution," which emphasized traditional values such as family, religion, and work, while rejecting the republican ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity. This government actively collaborated with Nazi Romarkia, enacting anti-Semitic laws and assisting in the identification and deportation of Ro-Jews to Romarkian concentration camps. Vichy Rogaulia also provided economic and logistical support to the Romarkian war effort, though it maintained a degree of autonomy until November 1942.
In that month, following the Allied invasion of North Bloxveld(Operation Torch), Romarkian forces occupied the previously unoccupied southern zone. Although the Vichy government remained in place as a puppet regime, its authority was increasingly symbolic. Meanwhile, the Free Rogaulia movement, led by General De Raulle from exile in Ro-London, rejected Vichy’s legitimacy and continued to resist Romarkian occupation. The Free Rogaulia gradually gained international recognition and support, especially from Bloxia and the United States.
Vichy Rogaulia came to an end in 1944 when Allied forces liberated Rogaulia following the Bloxy Day landings. After the war, many officials of the Vichy regime were arrested, and some, including Rétain, were tried for treason. The legacy of Vichy Rogaulia remains controversial in Rogaulian history, as it represented a period of national division, collaboration, and repression under foreign occupation.
