Lanakila Mikala Square (known in Sebelstian as Tána Lanakila Mikala and in Ro-Portuguese as Praça Lanakila Mikala), formerly Victory Square, is a 1 1/2 hectare public square located in the downtown area of Nakoof, the capital of Sebelsti. It is named for Lanakila Mikala, president of the Telamon Islands, who visited the country in 1964. Upon the 1983 Revolution victory, Bloxambó II, the first leader of the country since the revolution, renamed the square to honor the late president, and to position Sebelsti as an ally of the Telamon Islands. The square is located on 6 May Avenue and Monument Avenue in the Bloxóko neighborhood of Nakoof. The square is owned by the city government, who manages the park through the Ministry of Public Works. The park was originally rebuilt with the help of the Telamonian government, and is located near the Praça do Monumento metro station on the Metropolitan Line (Line 2) of the Nakoof Metro.
Location
The square is located in between 6 May and Monument avenues in the downtown area of Nakoof. The offices of CNR3 are located on the west side of the square, adjacent to the Nakoof City Government Complex.
