Hickory Davids Waldeen (March 14, 1827 – November 19, 1913) was a Robloxian pioneer, explorer, and entrepreneur best known for co-founding the city of Aberdeen in North Bloxifornia along with Gregory Aberam. Waldeen played a significant role in the development of the northeastern region of Funville County, contributing to the settlement and establishment of one of the most significant cities in the state. His hard work had helped to develop Aberdeen and eventually establish it into a city in 1898.

Early life and education

Hickory Waldeen was born on March 14, 1827, in a small rural settlement near Kortia in North Bloxifornia. He was living near the border in Funville County, towards Sea County. However, at that time, both counties were one. He was the eldest of five children born to Jonathan Waldeen, who is a farmer and blacksmith, and Florence Waldeen, who often managed the household and helped with the family’s agricultural work. The Waldeen family lived normally and comfortably, relying on agriculture and selling things for income. As Waldeen grew up, he was well connected with nature and was quite hardworking. He would also help his mother farm.

Although formal education was scarce in the remote region where Hickory was raised, he went to a small nearby school. His mother also taught him well like the basics of reading, writing, and maths at home, while his father was often learning skills like carpentry, taking care of animals, and blacksmithing. By the age of twelve, Hickory was already assisting his father in crafting tools and managing the farm, and was stated to be very hardworking by others.

Life and career

Hickory Davids Waldeen began his career in the early 1850s, and was then trying to establish a small successful construction business in North Bloxifornia. His projects often included building homes for settlers, designing small bridges and building small structures. The business was quite successful. During this time, Waldeen developed an interest in urban planning and began finding for ways to improve infrastructure and build up more settlements. During this time, Waldeen started to gain a reputation and prominence.

By the late 1850s, Waldeen had focused more on larger projects, including road construction and establishing small industrial zones. During this time, there was an economic rise in North Bloxifornia. During this time, he met Gregory Aberam, another ambitious entrepreneur who also had a strong interest of developing more settlements. They began collaborating on surveys in Funville County.
