Aberdeen (ˈæbərˌdɪn) is a city situated in Funville County, North Bloxifornia. As of 2024, its population stands at 98,348, reflecting an increase of nearly 4,000 from the previous year. Positioned at the northernmost point and easternmost point of Funville County, it is the largest and only official city within the region. The area encompasses approximately 273.2 mgst² (9 mi²/23.3 km²) and benefits from access to Bloxifornia Bay, which facilitates significant trade routes and enhances the local economy. The current mayor, Sam W. Ziegler, a member of the Republican Party, has been serving since 2023 and is currently in his second term.

Etymology

The name Aberdeen is derived from the surnames of its founders, Gregory Aberam and Hickory Waldeen, who established the city in 1898. They merged their last names to form Aberdeen, although their initial name was Amwald.
