Furries in Sebelsti constitute Furries who are citizens or nationals of the Democratic Republic of Sebelsti. Furries are an ethno-cultural group which have faced much discrimination and violence in the country. It is estimated that there are around 3-5 million Furries living in Sebelsti, however the number is hard to estimate due to many choosing to conceal their identity. Since 2017, when BaconHairBlox became president of the country, anti-furry sentiment has decreased in most urban areas, however, in rural areas, it is reportedly at "extreme levels".
History
It is believed that the first Furries reached the country during the 1500s, however, millions more began entering the country while Sebelsti was being colonized by Ro-Portugal., during the late 1800s. Many of them were quickly expelled, and begun settling in areas such as North Noobania, and the Democratic States of Working Noobs, where many of them were able to settle. However, as Sebelsti became independent from the Tovokian Union, in 1933, many of them living in the neighboring regions begun to settle back in Sebelsti, where they faced harsh discrimination, and exclusion from general society. During this period, Furries were not allowed to reside in the same sections of towns, or even near certain schools and markets, but a thriving enclave was established in Nakoof, the capital, by 1938.
Roblox War II
During Roblox War II, most Furries had their citizenship revoked as a new wave of Anti-Furry politicians took office. Many of them blamed the country's climbing debt on the Furry population and many of them were forced to leave, to countries like Hokanda or Bloxjiado. However, after the war ended, a few were allowed to return to the country, granted that they would "assimilate" into regular society.
Revolutionary Era
After the Sebelstian Revolution, which established the new government in 1969, the few remaining furries in the country were required to either give in their suits, or move to separate towns designed for Furries only. While the plan worked, it was largely unsuccessful against the rising number of Furries in the country. To stop the spread of the phenomenon, all Furry related content was banned in the country, in all forms, including books, films, television programs, and newspapers. The prohibition officially ended in 1983, with the rise of the National Party government, however the Furry Control Act was passed in 1994, allowing individual towns to restrict where Furries could reside, and providing an exemption from the Article 6 of the Constitution,which prohibits virtually all forms of discrimination. The Furry control Act is still in effect to this day.
BaconHairBlox Era
When BaconHairBlox became president in 2017, much of the rules surrounding Furries were loosened, however, the administration under BaconHairBlox has reportedly received massive contributions from Anti-Furry countries and organizations, such as the Monika Corporation, an Anti-Furry corporation which is allegedly one of the Ministry of Defense's largest suppliers, and has instituted laws on wearing fur-suits in public. It is estimated that in 2025, there were over 400,000 members of the Anti-Furry Coalition, almost as many members as the country's own military.
Separation
According to a 2024 report, there are at least 70-100 so-called "furry towns" which are composed of an almost exclusively Furry population. These towns are mainly located in rural areas, with the most being in the Province of Nakolandia. They were created by Furries who had been expelled from their original homes and settled on empty land. Many of these towns are considered informal settlements or slums, and lack basic resources such as sewage or schools. The government allegedly is working to clean these towns up and resettle the residents, but as of 2026, this has not happened yet. Even in larger cities, where they might be more accepted, there are so-called "invisible walls", between Furry and non-Furry communities.
