Dos Bocas - Fort Havana International Airport (DFIA) (IATA: DFIA, ICAO: BHA, RAA: DBFHIA), (Formerly North Miablox Airport) is a major public airport in Bloxward County, Blorida, United States Of Robloxia. It is one of 3 airports serving the Miablox Metropolitan Area, the airport is off Miablox State Route 3, Blorida State Route 7, and U.S.R State Route 1, it is located in Bloxywood, Blorida, however, the airport is used as Fort Havana and Dos Bocas airport, it is bounded by several cities, including Bloxywood, Fort Havana, Dos Bocas, and Dos Boca Beach, 3 miles (5 km) southwest of downtown Fort Havana and 21 miles (34 km) north of Miablox.
With over 700 daily flights to 135 domestic and international destinations, DFIA has become an intercontinental gateway since the late 1990s, although Miablox International Airport (MIA) still handles most long-haul flights. DFIA serves as a primary airport for the Fort Havana, Pompano Beach, Bonita Springs, and Dos Boca areas, and a secondary airport for parts of Miablox and areas north of Dos Boca for flights that are not served by Palm Beach International Airport, such as Cape Town, Bloxipiter, Bloxwiki City, and Hallelujah Beach. The airport is a base for Allegiant Air, Blox Air, and Lifeboat Airlines, the latter of which has its corporate headquarters nearby in the suburb of Miramar, Blorida. In addition, DFIA is the primary South Blorida airport for Southwest Airlines (although Southwest also serves both Miablox and Yamaha Beach) with the majority of Southwest flights currently serving Fort Havana. DFIA is classified by the U.S.R. Federal Aviation Administration as a "major hub" facility serving commercial air traffic.
The airport is operated by both the Airports and Auxiliary Services, and the Bloxward County Aviation Department.
History
1920 - 1931 History
On June 11, 1920, the Bloxward County Aviation Department, (BCAD) was founded after a marine-veteran named Robert Dudley, who wanted to build a airstrip in what is now, modern day Parkview, Blorida. The airstrip was named, North Miablox Airstrip (NMA), and it served as apart of the still developing Miablox Metropolitan Area, and a small portion of Bloxward County at the time. The aviation department was set up from Bloxward County's mayor at the time, namely Harold C. Alexander. Alexander then asked founding from the United States Of Robloxia's Aviation Department, (UAD) for funding. However, the first few attempts at asking were short, since Robloxia had been funding airports in
Reorgia, eventually, in September 1929, they reluctantly agreed after the Miablox Metropolitan Area began to expand. The airstrip was upgraded, and rebuilt to a municipal/regional airport for the city. The city of Fort Havana, began to also fund production of a larger airport. Eventually, the airstrip was demolished and moved to a part of Dos Bocas, Blorida, which now lies in modern-day Bloxywood, Blorida, hence the reason why the airport is now currently named Dos Bocas - Fort Havana International Airport. By July 1930, a majority of the airport was finished, with just 2 remaining terminals left to build, the state of Blorida issued a permanent land-grant to the airport, so that it could not be moved to anywhere else in Bloxward County, the United States, and the world in general.
On October 2, 1931, a test flight done by the airport, would mark the first ever plane trip made by the airport. The plane used was a 1927 Cessna Model A, it was a 30-minute trip from Dos Bocas to Cape Coral, Blorida, where once they reached Cape Coral, they had turned the plane around, and went back to the DFIA Airport, where it landed. It is considered the first flight of the airport unofficially, but the first flight the airport officially took was a flight taken on opening day, on November 1, 1931. On that day, a Douglas DC-3, departed, holding the planes maximum capacity of passengers, which was 32 people. The flight flew from DFIA Airport to Dalton International Airport, (DBC), sometimes called Dalton - Fort Cyprus International Airport, the flight last 2 hours, 37 minutes from Dos Bocas to Dalton, Bloxas. This flight would be the first official flight of North Miablox Airport, (Now Dos Bocas - Fort Havana International Airport) the plane used would later be sold to the Blorida Air Museum, for 1.25 Million R$.
1932 - 1951 History
In January 1932, the airport began to receive some recognition, as the airport would began to expand more due to flights coming in more often, and the rapid expansion of the Miablox Metropolitan Area. On January 31, 1932, the airport conducted its first ever international flight, from DFIA Airport to Baoji International Airport (BIA), it had already made 41 flights around the United States, and the first international flight was a massive deal for not only the airport, but also Blorida itself. It marked the first international flight, using a Douglas DC-3, they made a 9 hour, and 17 minute trip to the city of Baoji. A majority of the passengers were wealthy entrepreneurs, oilman, or other wealthy socialites. It was filled with about 12 passengers, and each passenger's ticket costed 500 Tix. (8,909.42 R$ As of 2024's money) The passengers of the plane spent 7 days in Baoji, and took a return flight back from a private airstrip on February 6, 1932, back to DFIA Airport. The plane used was later retired in October 1938, after the airport purchased a new fleet from Douglas, and was put into storage. It was later auctioned in 1977 for 10.5 Million R$, and put into the Blorida Air Museum.
1933 Name Change
On September 25, 1933, the name was changed from North Miablox Airport, to Dos Bocas - Fort Havana International Airport, (DFIA). Just 2 months later, Bloxward County would cut up a piece of Dos Boca, giving it to Bloxywood, Blorida, however, a board executive at the Bloxward County Aviation Department named Howard F. Ponce, who was the CEO at the time, refused the re-name, and also had initially disagreed with Bloxward County cutting up more room for Bloxywood, and wanted to keep it for Dos Bocas. Because of Ponce's unwillingness to change the name, Bloxward County decided to simply agree with Ponce and not change the name. To this day, the airport is still named Dos Bocas - Fort Havana International Airport.
1934 - 1951
Later on March 20, 1934, the airport decided to build more terminals, and further construct the airports runways, at the time of March 1934, the airport only had 2 terminals, being the McCarthy Terminal, and the Davidson Terminal, a third terminal was built for Robert Dudley, who helped pioneer the basis of the airport, 14 more terminal gates would be built between 1934 - 1942, 1 Terminal was built in 1934, being the Bloxxer terminal gate, (Named after Aaron Bloxxer), 3 were built in 1935, (Carson, Del Phi, and Macondo terminal gates) none were built between 1936 - 1938, 4 were later built in 1939, (McAllister, Trumpblox, Davis, and Ponce gate terminals), for another 3 years, the airport wouldn't build many terminal gates, as it had 8 terminal gates, however, with more and more cities, and growing population of the Miablox Metropolitan Area, they were forced to expand, where they built 6 more terminal gates, (Johnson, Cincinnatus, Delta, Southwest, Exeter, and the Montana gate terminal).
However, due to the 2nd Robloxia War, the airport dedicated itself to assisting the United States Of Robloxia's military, and air force units. Only 254 citizen flights were taken in between 1942-1945, and over 2,387 recorded flights were air force flights from the airport. Later in the year 1975, the airport opened a museum for the second Robloxia War, which it now sits across from the gift shop, and it contains various war relics, weapons, and uniforms, as well as some weapons that were used to kill, or defend during the war.
On July 13, 1946, the airport re-opened, and began to operate as it normally would, however, because of their support due the United States of Robloxia, there were no flights to Neo-Japan, East Romarkia, or any other country that went against the United States during the second war. The airport also received a large sum of money for funding due to their help in the war, which they later would use for funding, and built 2 terminals in 1951 using the funds. (Cassel and Baszucki gate terminals).
1952 - 1972
Throughout 1952 - 1972, the airport would take on more international flights, and by 1972, it was able to fly across the globe, to any international airport. Due to Miablox's growth in population and popularity, that also filtered onto cities such as Dos Boca, and Fort Havana. Between these years, they had flown over 1,278,873 Flights, 983,136 being international flights, and the remaining 356,009 flights being around the United States Of Robloxia, flying to private, public, or major airports, and it served roughly 356 Million passengers between 1966 - 1972. Also during this time, they began purchasing Boeing, and Airbus planes, in attempts to modernize the airport, since other airports began using more modernized planes, DFIA Airport would proceed to follow suite with the other airports.
1973 - 1999
Throughout 1973 - 1999, DFIA Airport built 7 more terminal gates, (Shaffer, E1, E2, E3, E96, Yakama, and the Allerton terminal gate). In 1973, the airport began construction of a war museum, due to its involvement in the Second Robloxian War, it featured several relics, weapons, uniforms, and artifacts of the war. It began construction of it on August 28, 1973, and opened on December 7, 1975. At around this time, flights to more places such as Neo-Japan, and other countries that opposed the United States in the second Robloxian War, began allowing the airport to send flights to there. This would give the airport wider access to Eurobloxia, and the number of passengers per year would increase in April 1976. In 1980, the airport recorded roughly 32 Million International flights, from not just the airport, but from around the world.
Later in 1981, it increased by 33 Million. The airport would remain on a still rapid expansion with the growing population, but not much would change in the airport, however, it would receive more passengers. However, on November 28, 1990, Robert Jared Dudley, passed away at age 81 in Minnecana, Blorida. Later on May 11, 1991, a statue of Dudley was built inside the Dudley Terminal, as a way to honor him. The statue would be replaced in January 1996, after it was frequently touched, leaving marks on the statue. The statue now sits in a glass casing, and fencing was put around it, and a name plaque on the front so that visitors, and or passengers knew who it was. The statue still remains at the airport as of 2024, and it is cleaned every day.
