Z.D. Deschaines is a shaman theosophist and founder of the Deschaines Center for Astral Research.
Biography
In 2001, Z.D. Deschaines performed a psychographic survey of Sean Parker's Manhattan properties, most notably the Crater. Deschaines produced a theory that Manhattan's power was not carcinogenic; it had regenerative healing properties.
Convinced by Deschaines' survey results, Parker made a bet with Trent Reznor, convincing him and his band to go to the Crater and create music, and if the process didn't cure him, he would give him $10 million, but if it does, Reznor will give him the rights to his music. To further assist in their spiritual endeavor, Deschaines selected dates of numerological significance, and rituals of abnegation and submission were followed.[1]
