Background

Not much is known about Coco's past; however, it is known that during his childhood he, Toriko, Sunny, Zebra, and Rin were young, starving orphans living alone in a poverty stricken nation with no one to care for them, until they were discovered by the IGO's top members Ichiryu and Mansam, who came to their nation to distribute food to the poor. Having noticed the childrens' potential, Ichiryu decided to take them under his wing and teach them the ways of the Bishokuya and train them to their physical peaks.

Eventually Coco, Toriko, Sunny, and Zebra became the Four Heavenly Kings, some of the most well known Bishokuya in the Human World, and Rin became the right-hand assistant of Mansam. At an unknown point during or after their training, Coco and his fellow students were injected with Gourmet Cells which increased their physical power beyond that of normal humans. It is also mentioned that Coco and the other kings were chain animals in the Gourmet Coliseum; however, the full details behind this have yet to be explained.

At another later point in his life, Coco (due to his immunity to poison and ability to generate poison) was subjected to numerous grueling tests and experimentation which caused him to become somewhat distrustful of others. For this reason Coco grew a dislike for the paparazzi, preferring to keep a low profile. At another unknown point he discovered an Emperor Crow egg which would then hatch into his life long friend and Animal Partner, Kiss.

Puffer Whale Arc

While consulting a client in Gourmet Fortune, Coco foretells the coming of Toriko.^[1] Toriko seeks out Coco as he believes that he is the only one who can help him find and prepare the Puffer Whale. When they arrive at Gourmet Fotune, Toriko and Komatsu see the sign warning of the presence of wild beasts, but Coco is seen calmly walking down the street. A Kuendon spots Coco and lunges at him but stops short and turns away.^[2] Toriko and Coco talk while Komatsu shouts excitedly. Toriko admonishes Komatsu for this behavior, but Coco darkly encourages him. With the beast gone, the townspeople emerge and a crowd of women swarms Coco. As he is pulled away, Coco arranges to meet Toriko and Komatsu at his house where he will feed them. At the promise of food, Toriko saves Coco, scaring the women away. The three go to Coco's home which they reach by riding on Kiss. There, the three begin discussing their chances of capturing the Puffer Whale which Coco predicts to be only 10%. Even with that Toriko tells him that that is their best option since he would never be able to capture and prepare it by himself. Furthermore, Coco tells the two about the Devil Serpent that lives within the labyrinth and how the beast's ferocity is on par with the Battle Wolf. Toriko jokingly asks if he can see the Shadow of Death on the two and Coco silently worries over the fact that he can see the shadow coming from Komatsu.^[3]

The trio enter Cavern Lagoon and Coco tells the two to stay close to him, only for them to go off and find Snap Mushrooms. As they travel further into the cave, Toriko explains about Coco's incredible eye sight. The group reaches a pit where a nest of Scorpion Cockroaches are living and they comment on how the cockroaches dissolve their prey with poison. Coco decides to take the lead, using deadly poison to scare off the nest.^[4] Komatsu wants to know how Coco managed to do what he did and the two Bishokuyas explain that they can produce anti-bodies which grant them immunity to different poisons. Coco explains that he has over 500 types of anti-bodies and because he has so many, his body can create new poisons. Komatsu comments on how lonely Coco seems to be and Toriko tells him its because scientists attempt to take his blood to create different serums while others also tried to classify him as a first class dangerous being. While descending into another pit, Komatsu eagerly accompanies Coco, despite knowing about the deadly poisons that Coco can produce. 

The group is attacked by a swarm of Swallowtail Bats. After defeating the swarm, they find that Komatsu has been separated from them, just as a Devil Serpent appears before them.^[5] The two engage in a battle with the Devil Serpent and after creating new anti-bodies to resist the serpemt's poison, Coco manages to stun the beast while Toriko delivers the finishing blow with a 5-Hit Nail Punch.^[6] With the snake defeated, Coco tells Toriko that they need to find Komatsu immediately as he is worried about the Shadow of death. 

The two find Komatsu sitting on the ground along with a Devil Serpent that had Knocking performed on it and Coco is surprised to see that the Shadow of Death is no longer hanging above him. He deduces that "Knocking Master" Jiro had saved him. The group go the the sandy beach where the Puffer whales are.^[7] Coco and Toriko dive into the water and he tells Toriko to stay back after making one of the Puffer whales turn poisonous. Coco uses Life Erase to hide his presence from the fish^[8] and proceeds to perform Knocking on one of them. He is surprised to find that Toriko has mastered the ability and technique needed to perform Knocking on the Puffer Whales just by seeing him do it. The two manage to collect ten Puffer Whales.^[9] Coco attempts to prepare one of the whales but fails and wants Komatsu to attempt the preparation. After coaching the chef through the process, on the last fish, he manages to successfully remove the poison sack. 

Just as the three finish enjoying their meal of the Puffer Whale, a GT Robo emerges from the water.^[10] Coco immediately senses the danger and proceeds to emit lethal poisons in preparation to fight. Luckily, the GT Robo leaves without engaging them in a fight. They realize it must have swum into the cave from the sea, and Toriko wonders if a living creature could do that, to which Coco responds that it is not one.^[11]

Regal Mammoth Arc

Due to the recent development of the Gourmet Corp. going after the Puffer Whale, the IGO Board of Directors holds a meeting stating that they will need the help of the Four Heavenly Kings. While Toriko and Komatsu travel to Biotope 1, Komatsu reminisces on leaving Cavern Lagoon. Coco stated that it was good meeting Komatsu and that the next time he would come to Hotel Gourmet for a meal, to which Komatsu happily agreed. Coco then told Toriko goodbye and that they would be meeting again soon.^[12] Coco arrives to Biotope 1 and paralyzes the pack of Heavycliffs with nerve poison, saving Toriko, Sunny, Rin, and Komatsu.^[13] Coco and Komatsu have a short reunion then Coco tries to greet Sunny but notices he has retracted his "touch". Sunny notes that he does not care for Coco's poison shocking Coco with bluntness of the answer.

Sunny then questions what they are gonna do about the Regal Mammoth but Coco calmly states that it has already been taken care of, having poisoned the mammoth beforehand, though there are electromagnetic waves coming from inside of it, meaning the Gourmet Corp. have already entered. Coco decides that they have to enter the mammoth too in order to stop the enemy from acquiring the Jewel Meat, much to Sunny's indignation, stating that it would be impossible to get in. Coco asserts that it would be safest to enter from the bottom, to further Sunny's disgust. Sunny proposes that they wait until the enemy exits and simple steal the Jewel Meat. Before anyone can answer a blast comes from the sky and a giant GT Robo lands next to the group.  

The one operating the GT Robo taunts the party, enraging Sunny. Coco stops Sunny and insists that he shall take care of the GT Robo and that everyone else should make haste and go after the Jewel Meat. As the GT Robo attempts to attack Coco with its laser beam, Coco whistles for Kiss, and the Emperor Crow flies down and trips the robot, causing its attack to fail. During the disturbance, Coco hurries Toriko's group to go. As the GT Robo rights itself, it threatens Coco, who states that he can see the Shadow of Death on it.^[14]

Moments later, as the Regal Mammoth sucks in Toriko and his group, Coco is shocked that the poison had not yet fully spread to the mammoth's body, but is even more shocked to see the Shadow of Death coming from one of the members in Toriko's group. However, the GT Robo fires a laser beam before Coco can determine who had the omen. Coco dodges and calls Kiss and they take off into the sky, while the GT Robo continues to fired multiple laser beams. As Toriko's group is tossed inside the mammoth's mouth, Coco is horrified and calls out to them. Taking the opportunity of the distracted Heavenly King, the GT Robo jumps high enough to reach Kiss's level and issues Cooking Fire from its hand. However, Kiss flies out with an unharmed Coco on his back, having protected himself with Poison Membrane.^[15]

After a fierce battle, the GT Robo managed pin Coco down in the pit where the Regal Mammoth fell. Releasing massive clouds of deadly poison from his body, Coco introduced that as "Hell Poison". With that, the GT Robo started experiencing malfunctions. Coco explained he created the poison by concentrating the waste products in his body to create a spray, surprising the GT Robo with his toxicity. The robot then fired a laser beam to purposely ignite the gas around them, with Coco creating a poison membrane at the last minute to shield himself.

As the smokes cleared, the GT Robo fired a shot at Coco still pinned at its feet at point blank range. But somehow missed the shot, shocking the latter. The robot then proceed to experience malfunctions, falling to the ground. Released, Coco got up and explained to the confused GT Robo that he coated its Core Antenna with his poison, which Coco named it 'Poison Jamming". The reason he fired multiple poison shots at the GT Robo is to determine where the electromagnetic waves for the sensations of balance are coming from and focused his poison there. During the explosion, Coco fired two chemicals, highly concentrated hydrochloric acid and nitric acid. The chemicals turned to gas due to the heat of the explosion, it converged back to liquid as it entered the GT Robo's body, thus destrying the Core Antenna. As the GT Robo took it's final stand, it breaks down completely and fell to the ground. Then, as Coco himself fell to the ground, the black GT Robo from the Sandy Cave appeared before him. The GT Robo proceed to ignore Coco and changed his walking direction. The Heavenly King can only watch on as the black GT Robo ran and entered the Regal Mammoth's body.

After Sunny finished his fight with the GT Robo inside the Regal Mammoth's body, the mammoth spat him out which Coco witnessed in surprise from the outside. He quickly ordered Kiss to fetch the fellow Heavenly King. Worried about the shadow of death he saw, Coco attempted to go after Toriko and the others who are still in the Regal Mammoth's body. Sunny managed to talk him out of it and convince Coco to believe in Toriko.

As Toriko's group managed to get the Jewel Meat, they were spat out by the mammoth, and were greeted by Coco and Sunny. After landing safely, Coco stated to himself that the shadow of death he saw earlier wasn't on the now injured Rin, but on Toriko instead, which had disappeared. He also stated that the electromagnetic waves he saw on Toriko have become stronger.

Later he was seen together with Toriko, Komatsu, and Sunny in a hospital room as Rin regained consciousness.

He's also seen together with them when eating the Jewel Meat. In fact, Coco's the one who noticed and stated that the Jewel Meat is a compatible ingredient with Sunny.

Gourmet King Deciding Battle Arc (Anime)

Coco thinks that the ingredient that would satisfy Chris is Honey Dragon's honey. He goes to the hive and gets attacked by a swarm of Honey Dragons. He tries to attack the swarm, but they avoid his attacks. He notices one of the Honey Dragons using a dance to tell the other Honey Dragons what to do. Coco uses Kiss to follow the leader causing the swarm to get confused. He then uses Poison Cannon on the leader and collects some honey for Chris. Chris refuses to eat the honey and Komatsu uses it to make a parfait for Chris and eats it.

Mellow Cola Arc

When Toriko needed to get the Mellow Cola, Coco and Sunny were on the train en route to its location. However, once Toriko asked them to help him get Zebra out of jail, they both refused and left Toriko and Komatsu at the drop sight.

Meteor Garlic Arc

To get another ingredient on Ichiryuu's list, Toriko recruited Coco to go to Jidar Kingdom with Komatsu, to get the Meteor Garlic. They travel there via the Underground Train. During their trip, it is known that Coco had went to Jidar Kingdom before in order to train. Coco explains to Komatsu some basic facts about Jidar and why they can obtain the Meteor Garlic there, at the Gourmet Casino.

As they reach the station, the group is almost immediately approached by a gang of robbers who demand values from them. Toriko actually gets excited because he never gets into a fight with normal humans, which irritates Coco a little. The confrontation is ended quickly by Toriko.

Coco, Toriko, and Komatsu walk deeper into Jidar and finally reach the Gourmet Casino,^[16] where they witness a robber being shot by the casino's security. Match and other members of the Gourmet Yakuza approach the trio, and after some conversation and negotiation, they decide to go along with Toriko's group into the Gourmet Casino, knowing that gambling is the only way for them to achieve their goal of taking away all the illegal ingredients.

Entering the general area of the casino, Coco withdraws a one million yen Gourmet Coins to gamble with, which tempted Toriko and Komatsu to try eating the edible coin.^[17] After having a huge winning streak at the games in the casino, Coco, along with Toriko and Komatsu, comes to the Gourmet Casino's famous 100-faced slot machine. With his superhuman eyes, Coco successfully lines up all the same 100 slot pictures on the machine, becoming the first person ever to do so. Deeming this as a threat to their casino, a casino staff member offers Coco to play more exciting games in the VIP area of the casino. Taking the offer, Coco, Toriko, Komatsu, and the Gourmet Yakuza follow the staff to the VIP area.

There, they meet with Livebearer, the boss of the Underground Cooking World.^[18] He takes the group to the deeper part of the VIP area. Coco introduces his intention to have the drink from Acacia's full course, ATOM, to be part of his full course. Accepting Livebearer's challenge and betting their food memories, they play the game Food Concentration with Coco, Toriko, & Komatsu vs Livebearer.

Coco started off the game with 3 consecutive hits, as he determined which cards are hits through his ability to see electromagnetic waves on the cards. But it was revealed later throughout the game that Livebearer used cheat contact lenses to see which cards are hits and misses. In the middle of the game, Coco concluded that the big-miss cards are the key to winning the game as Livebearer kept getting high points, he also made Toriko to tackle the dangerous ingredients on the Joker Cards, the Hannya Panda and the Nitro Cherry. Other than that, Coco made Komatsu to cook the ingredients in a certain way. Nearing the end of the game, Livebearer revealed that he can eat all the ingredients in the game, and Coco's team don't have enough points to surpass Livebearer even though they devoured the remaining ingredients.

With the Poison Potato as the last ingredient on the table, Livebearer was ready to eat it and win the game. However, Coco halted his victory by noting out the deadly eating combination that he readied for him. One of the ingredients being the Cheese Chinese Cabbage, which microbes destroyed the Biodegradable Plastic Coating in Livebearer's body he had for protection against dangerous ingredients. Unable to accept defeat, Livebearer went into a rampage and called out his minions, all which Toriko, Coco and the Yakuza defeated.

Later on, while Komatsu cooked the Meteor Garlic they found, Coco, Toriko and Match went to the highest floor of the building, preparing for their meal. Seeing as Komatsu have cooked the Meteor Garlic with Livebearer, Match questioned Coco whether he had predicted that Livebearer would have a change of heart. Coco stated is not just his fortune telling, he thought that Komatsu's love for cooking might change him. As everyone ate the doping garlic, their muscles suddenly strengthen up and increase in size. Coco's body is the one that changed the most, giving Toriko a shock of his life. Coco implied the Meteor Garlic is a compatible ingredient to him.

Wanting to find info on his desired ingredient ATOM, Coco and the group went to search for Joie, a chef to the King. Only to find the palace have been cleared out.

Golden Wheat Arc (anime)

He is mentioned by Setsuno about the growth of the Four Heavenly Kings who recently mastered Food Honor. As a big scorpion beast approaches near Coco, he warns it about his quite deadly poison, and he releases some of this poison with his finger since the arthropod animal ignores his warning, which makes the beast flee away.

Four Beast Arc

Coco, and the rest of the Heavenly Kings were eating at the highest floor of the Gourmet Towers, preparing themselves to combat the Four Beast, the last ingredient on Ichiryu's List to them. The Kings then leveled up their Gourmet Cells by eating Bubble Fruits and watched a video from Ichiryu. Then, the Heavenly Kings got onto their animal partners and each one of them took off to face one of the Four Beasts.

With Kiss, Coco came face to face to one of the Four Beasts, Invite Death. Surprised by the amount of antibodies the creature possessed, Coco used the Measuring Tongs to measure Invite Death's capture level. The result is Capture Level 140. Invite death attack by shooting dissolving poison through it's antennae on it's nostrils. At one point it seemed the poison hit Coco and Kiss, only to found that they were Poison Dolls, copies created by Coco. Later, Invite Death tried to destroy the continent with poison from it's feet. Coco merely stood on the corroding land as he created antibodies, and wore his new poison armor. As Invite Death tried to attack physically and charged towards him, Coco fired an Poison Arrow which tip was laced with his new poison, Poison Virus, which can search a suitable poison to combat a creature with many antibodies. To finish the creature off, Coco created a Mold Spear, a spear made with poison based on mold spores, the speed of which is the fastest speed reached by any living creature in the world. The spear inevitably pierced through Invite Death.

Moments later, Rin called the Four heavenly Kings with their Measure Tongs as communication devices, warning them the fact there's only one beast instead of four. Listening to this, Coco realized he have yet seen the Shadow of Death on Invite Death. Like the other beasts, Invite Death dive into the underground. Shocked to the fact it's heading towards the human world, Coco summoned Kiss and followed Invite Death by seeing it's electromagnetic waves.

Reaching the Gourmet Town, the main body of the Four Beast spread the Green Rain. Coco's the one who warned the danger of the Illness Rain, he asked Zebra to borrow his Daruma Horse and tell Komatsu to go to Chef Yuda, in order to create the antidote to combat the toxic of Green Rain. After calling Kiss to block off the four beast's vision, Coco unleashed his Poison Bow and Arrow, but the Four Beast somehow grew eyes everywhere on it's extended body, failing Coco's attack.

After some failed attacks, the Four Heavenly Kings gathered under the Umbrella Tree made by Teppei. That is when Rin informed them about the capture level of the Four Beast, capture level 320. After Teppei telling them they have to make sure to fulfill the request of capturing the ingredient, not wanting to be looked down by Ichiryu, Coco and the rest had a boost of energy and strong determination and unleashed their Appetite monsters. All of them then formed a combination attack, Coco done his part by coating the giant fork Toriko and Sunny created, Poison Coating. However, the attack failed and the Four Beast returned the attack even more. Getting up, Coco stated that not only the Four Beast absorb the bodies of the four creatures they fought, but their fighting experience as well, thus knowing all of their abilities.

Whilst fighting, the four beast repelled all of them and Coco was thrown into a convenience store. Coco stated they need to hurry to end this fight as they were slowly being broken down by the Green Rain. Later, Coco and rest of the Kings were seen hurt, heavily bleeding and laying on the many rubbles. Coughing blood, Zebra questioned Coco whether he can create antibodies for the poison that's spreading in thier bodies. Coco stated he can't decipher it as it's a Gourmet World poison. Just as hope was seen lost, Toriko let out a thunderous growl of his stomach which made Coco, along with Sunny and Zebra to yell at him. Coco listened on as Toriko explained about the taste of the Four Beast. Coco agree with Toriko the fact they had did a lot of damage to the creature, increasing the taste of it's meat. Coco's stomach then let out a growl with the rest, questioning himself when's the last time it did that.

After dodging an attack from the Four beast, Kiss with the other animal partners, Terry and Quinn entered the battlefield. They fought continuously as Coco, Toriko, Sunny and Zebra formed their combined attack, Feast of Kings, an attack formed by putting their appetite together.

After the four beast was defeated, all that's left of the green creature was it's meat and the people it ate and have yet digested. Coco, along with the Kings and Komatsu helped to transport the Four Beast meat for mankind to enjoy. Later, the Four Heavenly Kings had a feast together with the meals Komatsu cooked.

Cooking Festival Arc

Coco along with the rest of the Four Heavenly Kings, attended the 50th Cooking Festival to cheer for Komatsu who had been recently accepted into the IGO Chef Ranking and allowed to compete in the festival. Throughout Komatsu's challenges, he continued to encourage the young chef from the stands along with the other kings and occasionally commented on the recent turnabouts.

When Komatsu's match against Zaus begins, it is quickly cut short by the arrival of Starjun and the rest of the Gourmet Corp. who seek to kidnap as many chefs as possible. Coco and the other kings quickly leap into the stadium and prepare for battle and to protect all of the chefs. When the Gourmet Corp's. army of Scum Beasts arrive, Coco is able to dispose of many with his lethal poison. Meanwhile a grief stricken Komatsu is in horror seeing so many strong people being forced to sacrifice their lives to protect the chefs, but Coco reassures him that it is necessary as chefs, next to ingredients, are the most valued part of the Gourmet Age and that they will protect them with their lives.

Soon after, Coco's poison is absorbed by the eccentric Gourmet Corp. Sous Chef, Grinpatch who merely sucks up clouds of poison with his straw and laughs it off as delicious. Coco and Grinpatch then engage in a heated battle; however, none of Coco's poisons have any fact on the twisted sous chef, who continues to eat and laugh it off. Grinptach then unleashes a powerful Breath Bazooka which creates a huge hole in the middle of the stadium. Coco is then forced to pull Grinpatch and himself into the hole in order to unleash his most deadly poison, due to fearing that it may kill innocents if he released it on the surface.

While underground Coco fed Grinpatch his Devil Poison, which caused the chef to shoot his Breath Bazooka wildly, deepening the hole. At its deepest point (further than Heavy Hole), Coco sensed an enormous energy and his Appetite Demon warned him away from it. As he left, he grabbed one of the rocks.^[19]

Although Grinpatch emerges triumphant from the hole,^[20] Coco survives as well. Sometime after the invasion, he invited Sunny and Zebra to his house. There, they discuss the recent events. When Sunny makes a query about Coco's new appearance, Coco explains that he used up too much poison that consequently released his Gourmet Cells (which nearly killed him in the process). He shows them the rock he discovered and explains his theory on Gourmet Cells and the Gourmet World.^[21]

Billion Bird Arc

After the timeskip of one and half years, Coco shows some changes in his appearance with new clothes. He also removed his turban and grew his hair out a bit. He greets Komatsu who had returned from the Gourmet World after spending a year and half there. Toriko asks him about the situation of the Human World and as he was about to give him the details, Rin enters the room. Coco is utterly surprised when Rin proposes to Toriko out of the blue and Toriko agrees. This creates some confusion and discussion.

After that Coco along with Toriko and the others head to Biotope 1 to find Ichiryu's Main Dish which is hidden somewhere in the garden. Coco and the others tell Toriko on how they all used their abilities to search the garden and found nothing. Coco then watches Toriko as he uses his skills to find the last item of Ichiryu's Full Course Menu. Coco is amazed when Toriko finishes the treasure hunt in a matter of minutes when he, Sunny and Zebra couldn't find anything in the past one and half years. Coco understands that Toriko's growth has been immense during the time he spent in the Gourmet World and his overall skills have clearly risen during this period. When Komatsu explains on how Toriko used to find him in the Gourmet World using smell, Coco concludes that Komatsu had also grown. Coco and the others enter the Rest Room which Toriko found using his skills.

After entering the place, Coco could not get any electromagnetic waves from outside making the area sealed off from the outside world. They find the chest lying in front a Tree House and then leave the place with it. Coco then heads to the 17th cultivation court with the others. When they search a way to hatch the Billion Bird's egg Komatsu, Sunny and Zebra act like airheads which makes Coco apologize to the Chefs present there. Later when Toriko uses the items of Ichiryu's Full Course to make the nest for the bird, Coco could sense electromagnetic waves coming out of the egg. Coco then heads to Hotel Gourmet where the Heavenly Kings and Komatsu are seated to eat the Billion Bird Egg. Coco is intrigued by the fact that the eggs were laid when the bird was not attacked. Coco is amazed when he finds the yolk to be spreaded through the egg. Coco's hair and eyebrows grow out instantly when he drinks it.

Coco then goes back to Biotope 1 when Toriko wants to meet someone who was in the Tree House. Coco finds the entrance to be on the 3rd floor. He looks at some books in the library and finds them all to be dirty mags. He finds some cookbooks on the second floor including and some more dirty mags. They find no way into the first floor and then Sunny finds a hidden passageway in the well. The passageway leads to a bath where Toriko and Komatsu excitedly get in and Coco reminds them the purpose for which they were there. Coco then finds the pond in the bath to be suspicious and dives in it only to get back to the well. When they all are tired of searching a way in, Komatsu finds the window to open and they enter the Tree House through it to find an old Nitro.

The old Nitro tells its name to be Chichi. When Chichi reveals about its connections with Ichiryu, he skips way too much prompting Coco to ask him to tell them more. Chichi then takes them to a floor below where an ingredient kept by Ichiryu was. The mere sight of the ingredient makes Coco lose his consciousness and his Appetite Devil takes over his body. Chichi brings him back to sense and Coco is shocked about what happened. Chichi reveals that the ingredient was an item of Acacia's Full Course and this sends everyone into a bewilderment. But Chichi then says that it was a joke, angering Coco and the others. Chichi then says that a very tiny bit of the smell of an item of Acacia's Full Course was stained on it. Coco and the others then have a dinner of the apple and some other ingredients.

Later on, Chichi introduced the Camping Monster, Octomelon, surprising Coco and the rest as the creature emerged from the ground. Chichi going on to explain the usefulness of the camping monster in the Gourmet World and stated that the ride was prepared by Ichiryuu to them. Coco thanked Chichi for the useful information he relayed regarding Acacia's Full Course.

AIR Arc

After some preparations, the Four Heavenly Kings and Komatsu gathered at the harbor, where they said goodbye with many of their friends who came to see them off. Coco, Toriko and Sunny called their animal partners, Kiss, Terry and Quin to come along. And departed to Gourmet World with Octomelon as vehicle.

On their way to the Gourmet World, Komatsu introduced their new Capture Level device, the Riddle Chapter. Attempting to test it, Toriko fired a laser from the device on a creature that emerged from the ocean, a Raliengler Fish, with Chapter level of 299. Surprised at the high number, Sunny stated there shouldn't be something that's over 100 in the human world. However, Coco said that they are in fact nearing Yutou Island, and they're already near Gourmet World.

As Zebra prepared to fight it, the Fish got stabbed by the wave, and to Coco's horror he realized it is the Thorn Sea. To counter the thorns from the sea, the Four Kings fought, Coco managed to disperse the thorns of the sea with Heat Poison Cannon. After they managed to get out from Thorn Sea, Coco's the one who first spotted the Harbor of Evil Spirits. Seeing the harbour, their Camping monster Octomelon attempt to land only to fall through air and falling fast, along with Coco and the others. Sunny's animal partner Quinn attempt to save everyone by lactching her jaw on the land with Octomelon grabbing onto it's tail, but the Mother Snake got attacked by Torpedo Sausages. Coco's animal partner, Kiss attacked the bird beast fish, which prompt his owner to call out to him. Later, a voice called out to them in the mist and a monstrous face appeared which Coco questioned. With that, solid smoke surrounded him and Toriko, yanking them off Octomelon and into some smoke, Sunny extended his hair in an attempt to save them but failed, however he manages to leave his Remote Hair on them.

Coco walks with Toriko in the mist they're were pulled off to, with the dense fog Toriko asked Coco if he can see anything else with his eyes. A surprised Coco asked his adoptive little brother if he can smell anything, of which the latter was surprised as well because he smells food. Both of them ran in a direction only to find a seemly a man-made, normal streets of restaurants. There, they meet a Travel Frog which chats with them, offering Coco and Toriko to eat with him. Both of them sat and ate with the frog, as Toriko's enjoying the food happily, Coco ate with caution and questioning about Real Mist. But then realizing the frog was a fake, the enemies, Leech Heels, came in large numbers and surrounded Coco and Toriko, starting an attack. The leeches attacked Toriko by sucking his blood which Coco witnessed in shock, at the same time, the streets dissipates into mist showing it's true form that it was all an illusion. Unable to attack Coco because of his poison, the Leech Heels used physical attacks on the Heavenly King. However, the creatures realized they were fighting Poison Dolls that Coco created since they entered the mist, and the Leech Heels slowly crumbled to Coco's Poison Mist that he created using Poison Boomerangs he threw earlier. As the fight drew a close, the faces that appeared before, were in fact Gourmet World creatures, Soy Milk Road. Also the mastermind behind all the mist, but they were quickly defeated by Toriko's overwhelming intimidation, the Ultimate Routine. Although not directed to him, Coco was quite shaken from the man's intimidation. As the mist dissipates, it's revealed there was in fact land where Octomelon was and everyone had meals that Komatsu cooked with the creatures they defeated as ingredients.

After the group finishes their meal, they are greeted by an unusual frog named Mappy, who welcomes the group to Area 8 and explains to them about AIR's location and that he will escort them to the home of their old friend Tengu Brunch. After a long trip past the gigantic, radiated hoofprint of Heracles, the arduous Gold Swamp, the deadly Steel Clouds, the dangerously complex Gold Labyrinth, the pleasant Mega Rain fields, and the beautiful Amedama spirit rain, they finally reach their destination, Hex Food World. Upon arriving the group enjoys the many restaurants and shops the place has to offer and are eventually found by an agitated Brunch, who became irritated after they skipped going to his restaurant, the Tengu Castle. After heading to Tengu Castle, the group is informed of the Daruma Hermit's ill condition and quickly make their way to the Kappa Hot Spring to see him. There they discover the giant man is being taken care of by Atashino and Melk the First. After being told by the two members of Biotope 0 what happened to them since they were last seen and how to acquire AIR, the group prepares to set out for Slow Rain Hills, the location of AIR. Before leaving, the Kings are paired up with the members of the Hex Food Beast Knights, with Coco having been paired up with the group's Saiseiya, Dinner. The group divides into teams to help with the capture of AIR. Both Coco and Dinner take the path through the Poison Rain Prairie in order to reach Slow Rain Hills, during so Coco created Poison Umbrella to go through the hazard rain but the hail manage to damage it, making it even more challenging for Coco and Dinner.

While Toriko's battling, Brunch, who was flying towards the Food King AIR after retrieving the kitchen knife needed; spotted Coco and Saiseiya Dinner were heading towards the same direction. They were riding in the Poison Doll version of Careru that Coco created. After a while, Coco and Dinner along the rest arrived where Food King Air is; there they devise the plan to cook AIR. While cooking AIR, Komatsu requested Coco to give the ingredient some poison to prevent the ripening going too smoothly; while doing so Coco need to keep his senses together as his appetite demon got enticed by the good taste from the fruit. After AIR got successfully cooked, Toriko arrived to the place and Coco noticed that both Toriko and Komatsu have a slightly different atmosphere to them. Whilst having a meal with the people from the Bewitching Food World, Coco's the one who noted the benefits of eating AIR. He, Sunny and Zebra realised their left arms became their Gourmet Cell Demon's left arms. But after everybody had their fill, Neo unleashed a surprise attack on Komatsu; Coco, Sunny and Zebra readied their Cure Water but got quickly rendered useless by Teppei. Rushing to save Komatsu, Coco was in awe as he couldn't sense Teppei at all. As the fight drew a close, Coco was in same awe when Teppei disappeared in seemingly the same way, no traces left.

After putting Komatsu on life support, Toriko and the group quickly departed towards the next area to get the next item on Acacia's full course, PAIR in order to save his life. The Daruma Hermit prepared a new camping monster, Denshark as transport.

PAIR Arc

After the group defeats NEO, they prepare to leave for Area 7.

Whilst traveling in Denshark, Coco's the first who spotted the giant pollen grains that came raining down of them which they thought it was an enemy, and with that they reached the giant continent of Area 7. Coco discussed with the group the information given by the Daruma Hermit regarding the place to possibly get PAIR. However while so a monkey entered Denshark and about to fight, which Zebra found a reason to attack it; before it got completely eliminated by the Heavenly King it manages to let out a cry to call the other monkeys of the continent. Coco then urge the Denshark that they needed to get out quickly but he spotted the first approaching monkey, a Jarilla of Capture Level 688, following that they got surrounded by monkeys on the spot. after a short fight the monkeys knelt down towards the approaching "King", while Coco, Toriko and Sunny are in awe and overwhelmed by it's presence, Zebra spotted a mysterious plant from the ground, following that all of them and the Denshark fell through a hole in the ground. They were approached by a Nitro which then guided them through the ruins that once was occupied by the civilisation of the continent.

The nitro introduced itself as Kaka and talked to the Heavenly Kings with a comatose Komatsu by their side, regarding the continent and Nitros. However Komatsu's condition took a sudden turn and they managed to get him stable, also determined his time limit is one week and they need to get PAIR within that time.

ANOTHER Arc

GOD Arc

Standing before GOD, Coco is wary and his Appetite Demon warns him not to lose focus. He combines his poison with Aimaru's microbes and creates multiple Mold Spears, but GOD dodges them, surprising Coco. As Jiji begins to explain the method to prepare GOD, the nitro is eaten by Neo, and Acacia and Joie pass through Starjun's Blaze Dome.^[22] Acacia talks to the group as Joie attacks them with his microbes; however, they are unaffected because of Aimaru's microbes. They then reveal that Jiji was able to pass on the cooking method: Toriko by scent, Zebra by sound, Coco by sight, and Sunny by touch. Acacia becomes more enraged, and Coco tells Toriko to let him, Sunny, and Zebra take on Joie, who summons NEO members to fight them.^[23]

The group watches in awe as GOD consumes the Blaze Dome and begins devouring everything, even creatures in other parts of the world as its tongue stretches around the planet and reaches its own back. Standing in Joie's way of reaching GOD, Coco drops some Devil Poison, which attracts several creatures, including Grinpatch, who joins up with Starjun and a resurrected Tommyrod to fight Dores, Kuromado, and Niceny. To prevent Otake from touching GOD, Joie slices at him, but the attack is intercepted by Sunny's Satan Hair. Coco takes advantage of Joie's opening to hit him with a Mold Spear containing neutralizing microbes. Coco, Sunny, and Zebra then change into their demon forms and confront Joie.^[24] However, after fighting Joie for an hour in his Back Channel, the three are defeated by his Food Luck.^[25]

Chichi uses a Dark Technique to heal the Four Heavenly Kings and to strengthen them with the Red Nitros' cells from its own body.^[26]
