Brick Lake Rebellion of 1738 or Whiteshirts Rebellion (Rogaulian: Rébellion des chemises blanches) was an armed uprising against the government of Robloxia lasting from 1738 to 1741, mainly in the state of Western Robloxia. The rebellion broke out in February 1738 as a result of public dissatisfaction with high taxes, lack of religious tolerance by government representatives and ban on saft trade. The leader of the uprising was Frederick Oton (1675-1744). Rebels taking part in the conflict were called Whiteshirts because of the colour of their uniforms.

Prelude
In the 1680s, the process of amending the laws in Western Robloxia began. A grand convention was convened to modernize the system. However, due to bribery, talks at the convention broke down, and state representatives split into two factions: the Ultras and the Liberals. In 1693, President Taylor Paine financially supported the Ultras. Soon, the Ultras won the election and amended the constitution to give the country's president greater power within the state, following the example of Central Robloxia. This tipped the scales in favor of the Ultras.
In 1720, president Ross Carnegie from center-left Toupee Party died and an election began. Many merchants and people from urban ares began supporting Robert Arrowsmith from the same party. However, people from smaller settlements supported Bryan Trublox from Reform Party. Eventually Trublox won with around 57% of votes and became 15th president. Soon, Reform Party gained control over Western Robloxia.
In 1731, the St. Goodblox Association in Brickton was founded to represent merchant interests in politics.
Trublox's government feared that by trading in saft, which was also distributed south and west, the Korbloxians might attempt to control the Robloxia market. Therefore, in 1737, Bryan Trublox introduced a ban on the saft trade. Western Robloxia, run by Trublox' supporters, did not lift the ban in the date set by merchant guild in Hotting. Many merchants lost their source of income as Western Robloxia had the largest number of saft crafters and saft traders.
Under the pressure of St. Goodblox Association, The State Assembly was convened in Noda, but the state's representatives didn't attend it. Robert Hurry formed the 1st Merchant Regiment at Brickton on 18 December 1737. His plan was to force governor to lift the ban, not knowing that the governor was out of state at the time for medical treatment. Hurry began training his unit. On 20 January he attacked the palace of the lieutenant governor, who was killed. Hurry himself died from an infection that spread to his wounds on 5 February. Meanwhile, President Trublox's messenger was injured in Central Robloxia and was forced to stay, preventing the national government from intervening.
