Bitter saft in a pharmacy
Saft (from Romarkian saft meaning sap) is a dense drink made from the sap of swern tree. It is created as a result of a process commonly referred to as saftization. The production time for good quality saft varies depending on the swern cultivar from which it is produced.
Production time
Production time is:
- 5 months for sour swern sap. However, it is too sour to be profitable to produce.
- 8 months for brown swern sap and Ouma swern sap.
- 9 months for bitter swern sap. It was once used as a headache medicine.
A record for the longest production time for drinkable saft was set by Abelard Mendo. The production lasted 1,007 days.

Once collected, the sap is moved to a dry place and placed in a barrel or jar. A tube runs through the lid into a small container with cold salt obbiate crystals. When quintobloxine combines with salt obbiate, the obbiate precipitates from the salt, which is insoluble in the sap of swern tree. A reaction occurs in which quintobloxine breaks down into quadrobloxine, and the residue combines with the obbiate to form plastine. This makes saft a bit less dense and more transparent than sap. Plastine makes the liquid brown/dark orange. The entire process occurs very slowly, taking several months.
History
The first to produce saft were the Tronians, who stored the sap in special containers inside their pantries. However, it wasn't saft in the modern sense as they added it to water first and then drank the syrup. When the Eurobloxians arrived, they used jars and salt obbiate (thinking it was just salt), which led to the creation of proper saft. First mentions of saft production come from 1325 and 1339.
In 1343, president Erik Cassel II died, according to one theory, from a saft overdose.
In 1737, the Robloxian government banned the trade of saft nationwide, which led to the outbreak of the Whiteshirts Rebellion in Western Robloxia a year later. The ban was rescinded by President E.T. Cassel in June 1769.
Currently, saft is the state drink of Western Robloxia and unofficial drink of southern Bloxontario. Bitter saft, which was sold as a headache remedy as early as the 16th century, still can be purchased in some pharmacies.
