Tuhan Selamatkan Pulau-Pulau Kita is the national anthem of Labublox. It was written by Chandeendran Ramaselvanathan in 1973 with music composed by Upton Kimberley Pelo and Montpelier Kimberley Pelo. It was originally written as a pro-independence rally song for the Labubloxian Independence Movement (LIM), and it originally had six stanzas.
It was selected as the colonial anthem of the Crown Colony of Labublox in May 1976 after it won a nationwide competition organized by the Bloxian colonial government. Chandeendran was sentenced to life in prison due to resistance against the colonial government and treason as a result of his last three stanzas being about independence from the Bloxian Empire. However, he was pardoned by M.K. Pelo's government on 5 September 1980. The government chose Chandeendran's song because it had better flow than the other competing songs.
However, the original lyrics remain lost media, but Labubloxian historians claim that the last three stanzas contained really mean things about the Bloxians.
Original Lyrics (1980-2026)
Tuhan selamatkan pulau-pulau kita, Republik Labublox kita. Berdaya saing untuk majukan bonda, Untuk negara dan bangsa. O men and women rise, to serve the country greater good, Against all odds of oppression with brute! We pledge to save the homeland at the cost of our lives To ensure that our liberation thrives! Mari kita bersatu Demi kehidupan yang lebih maju! We repeat with our words, "God almighty save our island home!"
