Today (or Today on Roblox) is a Robloxian Roblox morning news and talk show created as part of Rox News, the news division of ROX, which debuted on January 14, 1952. It is based entirely on the U.S. NBC News morning program of the same name with a similar studio, format and graphics.
Today is Rox's first all-new program since 2013. Unlike other Rox programs, Today uses live voice over rather than in-game chat, a first for Rox. Due to this nature, the program is currently anchored solo by the team, although contributors may occasionally join in.
It is essentially a daily live broadcast that provides current domestic and international news, weather reports and interviews with newsmakers from the worlds of politics, business, media, entertainment and sports.
Studio
A new facility was built for Rox News in New Blockers City across the street from Rox's main headquarters as part of Rox's ongoing revitalization efforts in 2019. Rox headquarters and Rox News are joined by "RBC Plaza," the private street between the two buildings.
Today it is recorded inside Studio 1A, a street-side windowed studio directly facing RBC Plaza on the street level, similar to RPN's studio. It is designed to have the same look and feel as NBC's Studio 1A and act accordingly. Examples include a "home base" set sitting on a platform that can rotate, a curved wall that can animate, and vertical panels that can move.
Fun Facts:
With 68 years of broadcasting, it is fifth on the list of longest-running Robloxia television series.
It was the first of its genre on Robloxian television and in Roblox.
The studio was on street level with huge windows around which passers-by would gather to appear on TV.
