Pour L'Empurer - Slogan of the 3rd Rogaulian Empire

The Third Rogaulian Empire, also known as the Sixth Rogaulian Republic, and colloquially as Second Napoleonic Rogaulia, is the first time Rogaulia was a empire since 1870, ruled by Gory, Prince Napoleon, which planned to establish Rogaulian hegemony over its areas. It lasted since May 6, 2026.

Historians refer to this regime as the "Third Empire", after the restorationist Second Rogaulian Empire (1852–1870) ruled by Napoleon III.

On May 6, 2026, Gory was granted the title Emperor of the Rogaulians by an Rogaulian ordonnance, or executive order. This legal mechanism, which allowed the executive branch to adopt measures normally reserved for the Rogaulian Parliament, was authorized by Article 38 of the 1958 Constitution of Rogaulia. A coronation followed the title grant, as stipulated by the executive order itself.

History

Origin

On May 6, 2026, Gory was given the title of "Emperor of the Rogaulians" by an Rogaulian executive order. Later, he would then be solemnly crowned, after a reliquary votive crown would be made. He would then be consecrated by the current pope in a cathedral in Ville de L'Amour.

First Major Conflicts

Occupation of Mini Rogaulia

On May 13, 2026, Rogaulian forces occupied Mini Rogaulia. The country was annexed and then proclaimed a republic a few hours later. Napoleon VIII claimed to have "overthrown the regime", even though the Bobuxal family had ruled Mini Rogaulia peacefully since 1488 with few breaks. Prince Albert III Bobuxal escaped to Genoa in Ro-Italy and pressured Ro-Italy into giving Rogaulia an ultimatum to stop the occupation.

Resistance Grows Within

On May 13, 2026, the Union of Anti-Bloxapratists, a very radical resistance group, political party, and militia, formed and immediately launched a series of terrorist attacks on imperial infrastructure. It gained minor support. As soon as it formed, Gory immediately officially designated the group as a terrorist organization and began to fight a series of coalition battles against the Union of Anti-Bloxapratists, which were collectively known as the Second Napoleonic Battles, marking this the first time a series of battles was initiated by Rogaulia since September 3, 1939's declaration of war on Kiwi Romarkia approximately 87 years ago. All of this he was able to do due to fact he was bound to the Constitution of Third Rogaulian Empire, which had no implicit nor explicit constraints on what an emperor can do, effectively solidifying his rule as an absolute monarch.

Border conflict with Romarkia

On May 26, 2026 a Rogaulian solider crossed the Romarkian border, not knowing he did it and was instantly met with bullets. He was injured and a medic tried to help him but he was also injured. A bunch of the soldier's comrades came and began firing their FAMAS Bullpup Assault Rifles at the Romarkians, forcing them to retreat. The next day, Gory sent a apology note to the Romarkian commander for the skirmish. Rogaulia officially announced the punishment of soldiers who started shooting at Romarkians, while Romarkia announced the initiation of proceedings against the soldier who killed the Rogaulian soldier.

Flag Refresh

On May 28, 2026, Gory changed the imperial flag of the Third Rogaulian Empire to a different imperial flag. This was met with mixed reception with his supporters and opponents, with some arguing that the refresh would further distance it from the past when it was a unitary semi-presidential republic, while others invoked that flag changes, like the sudden Trumpblox proposal to rename the Gulf of Bloxico to the Gulf of Robloxia, would take a significant time to update all mentions of it.

Nature of Gory's rule

Praise

Gory gained support by appealing to some common concerns of the Rogaulian people. These included demands to protect the empire from invading countries by defeating all enemies of Rogaulia and demands to lower taxes.

Praisers said he would create more public education, generally liberally restructure the Rogaulian legal system, and emancipate the Jews.

Supporters argue that Rogaulia might justify the spread of its empire as one of spreading its superior culture, and would bring Enlightenment thinking and modern civilization to what they viewed as backwards robloxians.

Criticism

Currently, experts fear that he might become increasingly autocratic as his political career progressed, and once in power he would embrace certain aspects of both liberalism and authoritarianism. Critics feared that he might destroy electoral democracy and freedom of the press. Historians currently fear that his actions would transform Rogaulia's unitary semi-presidential republic into one modelled on the Romen Empire. The memories of imperial Roma were again feared to be used to modify the historical evolution of Rogaulia.

Opposers argued that this would consequently lead to attitudes of contempt against many of the nations Rogaulia would conquer and recalcitrant populations might repress, only to be ignored. Additionally, critics often cited the War of the Eighth Coalition as an example of the incompetence of the imperial system led by Gory, pointing out that the emperor and his supporters first caused the war, then lost half of Northern Rogaulia in a single day and were forced to conclude a white peace. Many pointed out that, instead of participating in destructive and costly wars, Rogaulia should have focused on further developing its economy and cooperating with neighboring countries.

Rebuttal to Criticism

Gory on May 31, 2026, acknowledged what the criticism was saying, and openly admitted to being authoritarian and autocratic before announcing that he would support electoral democracy and freedom of the press.
