For the Polytorian currency also named Stud, see here.
Stud is a fundamental unit of measurement frequently used in Robloxia, widely recognized as the standard building block for architectural designs, infrastructure planning, and even vehicle development across the nation, along with other units such as meters and miles. As a common thing of robloxian engineering and construction, the stud serves as a significant unit. One stud is defined as precisely 28 centimeters, equivalent to 0.28 meters, 0.918 feet, or 0.0001739839 miles, making it a slightly smaller alternative to the standard foot. Studs are also majorly used as a unit for both large-scale city planning and intricate design work. The stud is also a SI unit.
Singular stud.
Origins of Stud
The origins of the stud can be traced back to 200 AD, making it one of the oldest units of measurement still in use today. Initially referred to as "studers" the concept was believed to have emerged during the height of the Robloxian Empire, where uniformity in construction was essential for expanding territories and infrastructure. The term "studers" was derived from the old Robloxian word "studeus", meaning "foundation" or "support", based on the purpose of the unit. By the 13th century, the name evolved into the more reliable name, "stud", which gained large acceptance across the nation. After this, stud started to be widely used around.
As industrialization swept through Robloxia in the 18th and 19th centuries, the stud played a crucial role in development. With the helping in mass production and standardised manufacturing, studs being simple and adaptable made it the preferred unit for designing factories, railroads, and machinery. By the 20th century, the stud was formally recognized alongside other global units, such as meters, feet, and miles.
In 2011, the Robloxian government defined stud to be 5 centimeters. In 2019, the Robloxian government redefined stud to 28 centimeters, and the unit stuck today.
