“History”
Scott was first created in 1987, his original name was “Mr. Pilgrim” and initially looked way older than his final design, however, while he was approved by Bloxy Cola, there were a bunch of problems with his original name as the executives did not want to cause controversy due to the name of the character, so the character’s name was changed to “Scott Bloxgrim” and the trademark for it was eventually registered on May 6th, 1988.
Scott would not make an official appearance until 1991, when he was first featured in a series of Bloxy Cola advertisements called “Come Drink Bloxy Cola with Us” alongside other characters.
Between February 1993 and September 1999, a sitcom based on the character titled “Scott Bloxgrim Vs. The Roblox” was aired on Avast Comedy, in which the character was initially played by the retired actor, Michael Sarah (who also voiced him in the commercials) from season one to season 4 (released May 1998), when his character was recast, which lead to him being played by Joshua Seth, becoming his first notable role.
In 2002, the character received an redesign, in which it was later explained that the true reason why the redesign happened was due to a copyright dispute with the original “Bloxgreen” design., this redesign is the one that has been used since.
Personality
In the original advertisements, Scott was depicted as a “cool” 12-year-old boy who was obsessed with drinking Bloxy Cola and would often be harsh to others because he wanted Bloxy Cola.
However, when he was redesigned in 2002 onward, he was given a new personality (the new personality being significantly more nicer and genuinely wanting to help others buy Bloxy Cola) and his age was changed to 17 so older Robloxians could also relate to him, this was due to an survey done in 2001 that revealed that he was more popular with the 13-to-18 year old demographic of Robloxians than he was with his intended audience (children from ages 3-to-12).
Appearance
Disclaimer: this will only describe his current appearance, not his old one
In most media since 2002, Scott is often described as a teenager with orange hair, black eyes and he is seen wearing a yellow-and-blue stripped shirt with a star on the middle, blue jeans and white-colored sneakers with blue-colored shoelaces.
