The Robloxiapedia Wiki has guidelines outlining which pages can be deleted or protected and the process for requesting these actions to maintain an informative site.
Common Reasons for Deletion
- The article is promotional or advertising content.
- The article contains hate speech or is considered a troll article.
- The article is classified as vandalism or spam.
- The article is not relevant to the wiki's subject matter.
- The article lacks usefulness or value.
- The article duplicates another article or covers a topic already addressed in another entry.
- The article lacks sufficient information to be considered informative.
- The article violates any policies of the wiki.
- The article is plagiarized from Roblox Wiki or any independent wiki and cannot be converted to a format compatible with this wiki.
Common Reasons for Protection
- The article consistently falls victim to spam or vandalism.
- The article is undergoing an edit war among non-staff that needs to be de-escalated.
- For an article whose subject exists in real life; the article frequently includes unverified content. Leaked content may or may not be allowed on Robloxiapedia depending on the disclosure policy for leaks on the subject.
- The article is important for maintaining the integrity of the wiki, such as policy pages or the main page.
- The article is experiencing repeated edits that violate the rules and policies of the wiki.
Unacceptable Reasons
- Disagreements with any staff member, which represents a conflict of interest. Also note that pages cannot be protected so that only that user can edit due to software limitations and it running counter to a definition of a wiki.
- Reserving the page for future edits, which represents staff article ownership.
- Marking a page as "done" or "archived"* — every page in Robloxiapedia is never truly finished, as lore can always be expanded and language can always be improved.
*Does not apply to userpage archives of formerly deleted pages. However, at a staff member's discretion, such pages can be deleted for other reasons listed above.
Process for Deletion or Protection
- Users can request protection by contacting a staff member directly. However, sometimes, a staff member may protect a page without solicitation of user request. This can occur if the staff member believes a common reason for protection requirement is met. To request deletion, users should add the {{Delete}} template to the page and specify a valid reason on the common reasons for deletion page. If such actions were requested, staff members may then choose to protect or delete the page as appropriate. However, sometimes, a talk page discussion will be started instead if the staff member wants to gain feedback from other users first.
- If you disagree with a decision, please inform a staff member, or if a talk page discussion has started on the page itself, join the talk page discussion. We will review the decision and ask you to respect the final outcome after this review. For talk page discussions, staff members should review the decision. After this, users are encouraged to accept the outcome.
- For Fandom staff initiated deletions, all users should accept the outcome. If the user believes they disagree with the outcome, they are welcome to contact Fandom staff on why by reaching them out via Fandom Support. Please note that if Fandom staff rules in favor of a deletion, any attempts to recreate the page with the same subject will result in the page being deleted, the user being warned, and the page being protected from creation.
