The fifth season of the animated television series Robloxians was directed by Angus Kennedy and produced by Bloxy Animation Productions, Red Sun Productions and Solarlight Entertainment. The series follows the daily lives of protagonist Rueben Willis (David Robinson) and his friends Alex, Jake, and Douglas (George Cox, Alexander West and Thomas Tucker, respectively) in the fictional contemporary city of Olkmouth.

The season introduces Sophie (Olivia Jackson) and Martha (Danielle Booth), who manage a small animal rescue organization. It first aired on Children's Avast Television in the United States from October 3, 2016, to April 17, 2017, and internationally on Robloxian Educational Television from July 17, 2017, to January 13, 2018, totaling 26 episodes and two specials.

The season received a positive reception from television critics and fans alike, with praise particularly for Jake's character development and addressing topics such as civil unrest and animal cruelty. For the fifth season, the opening theme is "Upbeat" by Andrew Elliott, and the ending theme is "Stars in the Night-Sky" by Stanley Barker.

Production

Avast Television announced a fourth and fifth season on May 12, 2015, days after the conclusion of the third season. While much of the work was directed toward the former season, story ideas were pitched by multiple screenwriters, including those by newcomers Scott Stone and Emma Turner. Megan Collins, who assisted in writing since 2013, noticed that the stories were becoming "more repetitive and flat" and believed that the series could address real-world issues, including racism. Upon being assigned to collaborate with writer Frances Richardson, Collins used her opportunity to talk through her proposals. Richardson acquiescently discussed with Kennedy about her ideas, which he was quick to green-light.

Angus Kennedy became more involved in the season's production and assisted in directing half of the episodes; he co-wrote the episode "Flying Above the City," which was described as his favorite to work on. Jake's characterization was significantly expanded; Kennedy pointed out fans' discussions, which included criticism, were all about "diving deep into who Jake really was, outside of being a friend."

This season marked the transition from traditional hand-drawn animation to digital ink and paint. Kennedy stated that the change was made to "reduce production costs and improve the overall quality." During pre-production, multiple key animators, consisting of Abbie Dawson, Dylan Evans, and Madeleine Dean, scheduled meetings with Kennedy to discuss the animation, with the intention of solving the series's oversaturation and exaggerated animation.
