Pulseman (Neo-Japanese: パルスマン, Parusuman) is a 1990 Neo-Japanese anime series produced by Ro-Sega, Game Reak and Ken Sugimoto, it is one of the first anime produced by Ro-Sega and is based off an 1988 manga series of the same name by Atsuko Nishima and Ken Sugimoto.

It ran from July 22nd, 1990 until May 1995 with 3 seasons and 84 episodes.

Premise

It is about the adventures of a young high school student, Yuri Yoshiyama who transforms into and fights crime as the titular Pulseman everytime he is needed in order to defeat the evil Doc Waruyama (formerly Doc Yoshiyama), who plans to replace Robloxianity with a species known as "C-Life", who without Pulseman's interference, will cause mass-destruction across Roblox.

Rating

In both the modern Avast Television broadcasts and on Bloxyroll, It is rated TV-14 (some episodes are rated TV-PG V) due to having frequent violence, mild language ("darnnit", "idiot" and "what the hell" are used in both the original Neo-Japanese version and in the newer dub) and severe frightening scenes/visuals that might scare younger viewers.

The original release of the anime on Children's Avast Television was rated TV-Y7 FV, as the original broadcasted version that aired in 1997 was aimed at children, despite the fact that the original anime was aimed at teenagers and could get creepy in certain episodes.

DVD release

In 1997, the series received it's first DVD release by Ro-Sega, this DVD was initially only released in Neo-Japan and was not available elsewhere, it wouldn't be until 2002 when the DVD was exported internationally.

In 2025, the DVD was re-released for the anime's 30th year anniversary but unlike the original release, it contains more content (such as bonuses and behind-the-scenes content)
