History
The history of Mellor City dates back to the late 19th century as a small inland administrative outpost established by several authorities who wanted to expand the coastal influence of Rock City, now known as Greater Rockford City. Its location was chosen due to its abundance of resources and low distance from major trade routes. The area was mainly used for land management, taxation, and regional coordination. In the 1900s, the area had some government offices, worker housing, and basic infrastructure supporting nearby agricultural villages.
During the early 20th century, politician David F. Whitman proposed an idea to president Bloxlinlin D. Bloxsevelt on plans of constructing a new settlement at the area. The proposal was accepted and the land began to undergo major development in 1951. The Population growth was considered to be very high during 1950s and 1960s, and slowed down by the 1990s when the city was already considered one of the main cities of the country.
