Martin Blocks (May 26, 1942 – August 1, 1999) was a famous singer, songwriter and actor. He was one of the most influential singers in Robloxia. His career began a day after the new year in 1962 by releasing his first song, "Can't Stop Movin Today" (1962). His career continued to improve, however his most celebrated works date from 1962 to 1965, before going to jail. He had many remarkable events in the 1970s too.
Martin did not only compose songs, but also took part in many movies, while his most recognised film is "Personified Dogs" (1964). His most popular song is "Dimlights" (1967) which he created with his friend, Richard Buford. He is also in the significant robloxians of music and is one of the most recognisable artists of all time.
Biography
On January 2, 1962, at the age of 19, Martin started his career. One of his first songs boosted to number seven in the billboard hot 100 in just a month. His first song was called ‘Can’t Stop Movin Today’. He started composing many more songs and unexpectedly became very popular. He proceeded to act in films. His debut was on February 15, 1963.
He had mainly composed Rock and Roll songs. However, he was quite controversial (especially by parents) because of his popularity, mainly in the the local areas and also for the Rock and Roll genre being hated by older generations during the decade. On June 27, 1963, he composed a song called “Keep It Changin’ Robloxians” which helped him get more popular, along with a few more records, “Nothing goes from me” (1963) and “Won’t Stop” (1964), were also some of his notable songs. His notable films include, “Personified Dogs” (1964), “Rocking Eve” (1963) and “Trying to get to space” (1963). A high amount of records were sold. On April 26, 1965, after another appearance in a movie, Martin was advised to stop composing songs and going to more concerts due to his popularity and the controversy. From May, many protests started by the youth Robloxians for Martin to start composing again. On June 26, he managed to start a concert and it was filled with many Robloxians. He sang without being alert and he eventually was in prison.
On June 26, 1969, he was released from prison, however the problems about the genre were not that important by then so he continued his career. He prepared many huge events to become more known.
On August 29, 1981, he took a special visit to meet the president of Robloxia. In 1982, a few months before he turned 40, he suddenly started consuming too much drugs. It was found on January 7, 1983 after a 'new year' concert. He was immediately taken to prison for selling drugs and promoting them. He was released on April 7, 1983. He still consumed drugs, however wasn't caught. His health started becoming unhealthy in the late 1980s. His son, tried convincing him to stop, but Martin did not. On July 11, 1987, his spouse left him. Martin stopped drugs after that and tried improving in music. However, his economy started to fall in 1989. On December 15, 1989, he attempted to commit suicide and then on August 23, 1990, he attempted again.
Soon, things got better. He continued his songs, and fortunately managed to get a song to the billboard hot 100, number two on January 4, 1991. He started March 2, 1991, he said "I feel like i'm nearing my end of my life, but I don't understand why". Martin also wanted to loose weight as he gained a lot of weight in the late 1980s. On July 6, 1991, he did a famous tour with many other famous singers such as Randall Bloxon, Jack Watson, Richard Buford, Jack Suliblox and Rick Astley. On July 29, 1999 he did his last concert and announced all special people in his life and etc knowing that he is in his final days.
On August 1, 1999, his life was unfortunately cut short as he died mysteriously in his home. His cause of death is unknown.
