Part 3 of Labublox’s history.

History

The Early 1980s- A Horrible Start for Labublox

The Cold War became a huge threat to the newly-independent Labublox, especially, taking into consideration, the rise of pro-communist parties like the Parti Komunis Labublox (PKL) and the Persekutuan Rakyat (PR). The aforementioned parties played a major role in destabilizing the country's administration and peace.

Labublox was largely pro-Robloxian in the Cold War, since Robloxia has helped them a lot and the ideology of the Tovokian Union proved to be really unpopular and harmful to the country's stability. This stance was heavily implied by M.K. Pelo, who became increasingly anti-communist. Radio stations and the Novocom channels were dedicated to broadcasting pro-democratic propaganda so that the citizens would never get involved with the pro-communist parties.

However, on March 21, 1982, signals from the radio stations Suara Labublox (Voice of Labublox) and LBRW were reportedly received by listeners from the North Neo-Korbloxian capital, Ro-Pyongyang, as well as certain areas in Luobu. It turned out that there was an error made by the two stations that happened two days ago that caused the radio signals to be received by listeners across the South Luobu Sea. This was not well-received by the two pro-Tovokian countries.

The People's Republic of Luobu didn't do anything about this situation other than publicly denounce the Labubloxian government, however the situation was escalated in North Neo-Korbloxia. On April 3, then-North Neo-Korbloxian president Kim Blox Sung (picture) declared full-scale war on Labublox, with the reason given being that 'the signals were a threat to national integrity'. And so, this incident marked the beginning of the Great North Neo-Korbloxian-Labubloxian War, or as locals called it, 'Krisis Perang Dingin' (Cold War Crisis).

On April 25, 1982, North Neo-Korbloxian forces stormed and invaded the capital, Bricktoria. They launched several attacks on the city and bombed the Novocom headquarters in Bandar Baru Labublox, where the two radio stations' offices were located. Although the damage was small and unimportant, this caused the Novocom channels and the radio stations to go off-air until 1983. The last broadcast of the Novocom channels was hijacked by North Neo-Korbloxian soldiers and a North Neo-Korbloxian anthem video was shown, before cutting to a slide. Meanwhile on the radio stations, M.K. Pelo's speech was interrupted by the North Neo-Korbloxian anthem and a long beep sound that lasted until the headquarters were rebuilt. The sound followed the broadcasting period; after 11 p.m., no sound was heard.

As told earlier, in late 1983, the Novocom channels and radio stations resumed normal broadcasting, as the headquarters were rebuilt and the Robloxian forces garrisoned the area.

Throughout the days that followed, the North Neo-Korbloxians set up 'camps' called '더 큰 선을 위한 캠프' (Camp for the Greater Good), where selected Labubloxian individuals (e.g. intellects, pro-democratic activists and families of suspected enemies) will linger. The 'prisoners' suffered a lot. They were left to starve for many weeks, brutally tortured and were even forced to salute the North Neo-Korbloxian flag. At this point, North Neo-Korbloxian forces had committed many war crimes.

The war devastated the entire country. Terminations totalled up to an estimated 101,573 by the end of the war. Economists reported that Labublox was the poorest country in all of Baoji in 1983. There was literally no hope for this country. However, ally states like Robloxia and New Luobu kept on supporting it. An estimated ⏣100,000,000,000,000 in total aid was donated by ally states to the Labubloxian government, who used it wisely to help victims affected by the war, especially the '더 큰 선을 위한 캠프' prisoners. The remainder of the budget was used for national purposes (e.g. infrastructure and education) after the war.

The ally states also helped Labublox defense-wise in defeating the North Neo-Korbloxians. Their militaries have actively participated in the war and garrisoned important areas of the country from being attacked by the other side. By 1984, North Neo-Korbloxia was losing the war. The war officially ended on January 16, 1985, when Kim Blox Sung was forced to sign the Treaty of Ro-Layangan in front of the president of Labublox at the time, Darren Chua, at Surrender Point, the same area where the signing of the Borneo Surrender Accords took place. Labublox had finally won the war, after almost three years of suffering.

Until 1988, Labublox experienced a 'democracy obsession' period, in which the government was extremely paranoid of authoritarian states (even non-communist ones), because the country was rebuilding its momentum. Even though ally states like Robloxia and Bloxapore advised the government to stop being paranoid, the government did not listen as they claimed that they were extremely worried for the safety of the nation.

Throughout the war, most of the pro-Tovokian countries legally claimed that Labublox was an overseas province of North Neo-Korbloxia. However, Yugobloxa was an exception, as it claimed that North Neo-Korbloxia did not deserve the attention it got from other pro-Tovokian countries. The pro-Robloxian and Robloxia-leaning Third World countries thought the same, too.

The Late 1980s- An Emerging Economic Miracle

After the Great North Neo-Korbloxian-Labubloxian ended in Labubloxian victory, the Labubloxians did not need to worry about anything. They could finally focus on developing their ruined country.

Multiple infrastructure projects were planned under the governance of the presidents Darren Chua and Kaswi Zakaria. The most prominent of them all was the ambitious Green Apartment Project, or the Projek Pangsapuri Hijau, which was a project planned in 1988 that sought to lay the foundations for multiple eco-friendly condominiums in almost all cities nationwide. The project was headed by the government-funded Ekojaya Corporation Berhad and was completed in August 2025.

In June 1986, the Labubloxian government officially declared the country to be of tax-haven status. The Perbadanan Hasil Negara (PHN) was created to control taxes and protect the status. Soon after, as expected, more and more professionals came to the country throughout the following years.

Labublox's trade activity was becoming more frequent, and the old cargo ships used to carry out export and import activities in the garrisoned ports of Labublox during the war were replaced with more modern, efficient ones, that were given the label 'LSS'. The national oil company PETROLBX expanded its electrical generation branches to cover hydroelectric generation and wind power generation in 1987, further strengthening Labublox's stance as an eco-friendly country.

Speaking of 1987, just when things were great for Labublox, the Bloxaporeangovernment hit them with an allegation of money laundering. This became a huge scandal as a result of what followed after the allegations. The city-state's minister of finance at the time, Mark Tan Guo-Yeng, claimed that President Darren Chua allegedly stole millions of Bloxapore dollars (BAD) from Ro-Temasek Holdings' bank accounts and kept the 'stolen' money in offshore accounts in ally states for personal gain.

Following that allegation, the foreign relations of Labublox started to decline and the newly-formed Jabatan Hal Ehwal Luar Negeri (JHELN)'s funding decreased drastically. A lot of ally states turned against Labublox. However, the statement actually proved to be false by both the Labubloxian government and the prime minister of Bloxapore at the time, Blox Kuan Yew, as all bank accounts belonging to Darren Chua were kept only within state boundaries, with 'offshore accounts' being used to fund organizations like the Association of Southeast Baoji Nations (ASEBN).

After that incident, the economic growth of Labublox continued to rise sharply, even more so than usual. Project 80, a very famous skyscraper project, was completed in 1989. It closely resembled the then-nonexistent New Luobese skyscraper Merdeka 118. The skyscraper resembled a glass sculpture of M.K. Pelo holding a Labubloxian flag, which was built using colorful gems like rubies and topaz. It has a high-quality lightning protection system.

The 1990s- Labublox Under Two Reformist Presidents

As the Cold War ended in 1991 and nations in Southeast Baoji began to liberalize, Labublox became widely known as a worldwide jurisdictional point. It was then given the nickname 'Crossroads of Baoji'. The 1990s, in particular, oversaw the impossibly astonishing economic success of Labublox as a whole.

Labublox flourished under Kaswi Zakaria's rule, however he was terminated on May 12, 1992, due to cerebral haemorrhage. He was very, very old when he passed away, his age almost reaching 112 years at the time of his passing. The vice president at the time, Abindabad Mehreen, who also replaced Zakaria in February when he was incapacitated due to the haemorrhage, continued and completed Zakaria's term, until he was succeeded by Janani Hemamalini (picture), former president pro tempore of the Dewan Kebangsaan, who ascended to the vice presidency during Mehreen's rule. Pelo, Chua and Zakaria were mainly conservative, however Hemamalini was the first ever reformist president to rule Labublox.

President Hemamalini was a center-right urban reformist at heart, as she and her party focused more on economic growth, professionalism and also conservatism. Her political stance remains centrist, for some unfathomable reason. She established the Hemamalini Foundation, or the Yayasan Hemamalini, which sought to propel economic success while also enforcing and supporting President Hemamalini's policies around the country. The Hemamalini Foundation also held annual donations to charities nationwide, even going as far as to donate to international charities as well. The donations are still held every year until now, as the foundation still exists until now, under a different name.

The GDP per capita growth of Labublox increased by a whopping 81.5% under President Hemamalini's rule, making it one of the richest countries in Baoji, but still not THE richest in the world, a title it would earn later on in the late 2010s and still holds to this day. The nominal GDP also increased drastically, putting the country ahead of many Southeast Baoji countries. President Hemamalini was given the title of the 'Mother of Modernization', or 'Ibu Kemodenan'.

Somewhere around mid-1993, Labublox joined the Pula Compact, sharing its dissent for the notorious Confederate Union and further improving Labublox's defense forces.

The following is related to a voting scandal. So, in July 1996, before the first morning of the GWD elections of that year, several members of Parti Perjuangan (PPJ), which is an authoritarian far-right party made up of rebellious ex-soldiers, stuffed the ballot boxes around the voting venue, which was Sekolah Kebangsaan Bloxtu Lima, with rigged votes, making sure that their candidate in the election, Ismail Jazmien, wins the election. Fortunately, security cameras were already installed around the school, and the members involved were caught red-handed by the MODKEB. Parti Perjuangan was later banned from participating in any GWD elections until the year 2020. The ballot boxes were emptied just before any of the voters came.

On August 1996, Janani Hemamalini stepped down as president of Labublox. The former vice president of Labublox (and also Hemamalini's husband), Ramsay Gibrong took her position. President Gibrong was also a reformist, like Hemamalini, and was a really close friend of her ever since they were in elementary school. They married in 1995.

Gibrong kept the Hemamalini Foundation, believing that it would bring further stability and success to Labublox, only changing the name to the Labublox Forward Foundation, or the Yayasan Labublox Maju, as it is known today, to reflect the new presidency. He was the visionary of the Misi 2010 ideal, which was a government idea dedicated to making sure that Labublox achieves the status of a fully-developed nation by the year 2010. However, this obviously was a ripoff of the real-life Wawasan 2020.

President Gibrong also made poverty eradication one of his top priorities, implementing extreme economic policies to achieve that target. His efforts paid off, as Labublox was officially given the status of a 'poverty-free nation' by the United Roblox Countries in the year 1999, alongside a few other countries.

In the year 1999 alone, Labublox's GDP per capita sat at a whopping ⏣375,678, cementing its path to become one of the wealthiest nations in all of Baoji. At the time, it was THE richest country in all of Southeast Baoji when measured by GDP per capita, even managing to surpass the Republic of Pacifico, although the latter did surpass Labublox from 2001 to 2003.

Labublox was never affected by the 1997 Baoji financial crisis. During this time, it was building its very own business center in Tanjung Bloxbong, the home of the Chimney Museum. The government called it the 'Bloxbong Bizworld', and the area was lined up with the headquarters of both local and global companies, as well as tall skyscrapers which would be filled with offices. Roggle and Pear built their first Southeastern Baoji headquarters here. The business center sought to propel Labublox's financial success even further, as if it wasn't already enough. This dedication did pay off, however, as you'll see in the next section.

The 21st Century- Labublox and the New Milllennium

Ramsay Gibrong officially stepped down as president in the beginning of the new millennium, being replaced by former vice president, Juan Agusto Salias. The very early 2000s saw Labublox's economy stagnate. It didn't rise sharply as it used to, yet it didn't fall like a brick. It just grew slowly. And yet, it was still known as the richest country in Baoji. However, Juan Agusto still delivered.

His governance oversaw the introduction of the very first flying car (known as a carjet, or a kereta terbang) in the entire Roblox universe, in April 2001. The car model was made by the national automobile company Northwest Auto in collaboration with Robloxian aircraft company Roeing, and the earliest lineup of flying cars made by these two was named, 'Northwest Future'. Today, Labublox still remains the largest producer and exporter of carjets in the world, now mixing in green technology as part of the country's commitment to environmental sustainability. Juan Agusto also legalized free education and healthcare in both urban and rural areas, offering opportunities to lower-income households.

In 2003, Labublox was officially recognized as the second-richest country in the world, after Neo-Japan. The GDP per capita of the country at the time stood at a whopping ⏣418,716. This economic success was further amplified during Morkosa Pagheyan's presidency from 2004 to 2008. Her emphasis on improving the sports aspect of the country in particular also paid off really quickly, as in 2006, Labublox became the first country in Southeastern Baoji to send athletes to the Roblox Winter Games. Some of them surprisingly managed to get bronze medals.

In March 2005, Labublox became the first country in Roblox to fully complete the digital switchover. By February of that year, according to the Jabatan Statistik Negara, almost 99.8% of Labubloxian households owned a 16:9 digital television set, because at the time, the sets were sold for at least L⏣35 (after this, television sets became more expensive). The other 0.2% were those who cannot afford a digital television set. They mostly come from rural areas. Thanks to a government program which handed out free digital television sets to the remaining households, the switchover was complete.

In 2007, Labublox was officially recognized as the second-richest country in the world in terms of GDP per capita, after the Telamon Islands, with an official GDP per capita exceeding over ⏣600,000, since the mid-2000s saw a sharp increase in economical growth.

The presidencies starting from 2008 never saw anything insane or radical happen in the country other than the following. Labublox was only mildly affected by the 2008 global financial crisis, unlike other countries. This was a miracle given the country's status as a financial services hub. However, it still was affected and economical progress stagnated until the following year. On April 18, 2010, the president at the time, Tan Shai-Yang, resigned due to unknown reasons. He was replaced by the vice president at the time, Amalinda Nasir, for the other two years of the four-year term designated to him.

The former vice president from 2012 to 2013, Ghanesa Sarbadalingam was notoriously known for being a kleptocrat, who stole part of Labublox's financial assets and stored them in his multiple bank accounts. This, as you can imagine, sparked a huge controversy among the Labubloxians. Groovie19, a Labubloxian political and Roternet culture commentator on BloxTube, was the first person to report on this matter, calling Sarbadalingam the 'Marcos of Labublox'. He was the only Labubloxian leader in history to ever get involved in kleptocracy. As a result of this, he was immediately arrested and given a life sentence in 2013 and was prevented from ever holding any office due to fears that he will ruin the country's financial and moral success.

His significantly more kleptocratic partner-in-crime, the president pro tempore of the Dewan Kebangsaan, Francine Kopong, was also arrested for laundering and storing an estimated total of L⏣6,000,000,000 in her private bank accounts. This, as you can imagine, equals to a whopping ⏣30,000,000,000 (1 L⏣ = 5 ⏣). In total, the duo stole about L⏣26,000,000,000, or around ⏣130,000,000,000 when converted to Robloxian Robux. The stolen assets from the bank accounts were later recovered shortly after Sarbadalingam's arrest. This scandal was named as one of the biggest money laundering cases in history, and Sarbadalingam and Kopong became notorious figures.

To simplify it, Labublox's economy slightly fell from 2012 to 2013 thanks to the kleptocracies of Sarbadalingam and Kopong, as the GDP per capita was now sitting at just ⏣709,923, ⏣7,209 less than 2011's record. After the assets were recovered, however, the economy rose back up, as stated in the 2014 record. Minnie Sabado, the department-general of the Jabatan Kebajikan Negara, ascended to the vice presidency and later became president in 2016.

On November 30, 2024, M.K. Pelo was officially terminated while being treated in the Kenparker's Kingdom Hospital due to lung cancer. Her termination ceremony was held in the Tanjong Mawar Arena and multiple world leaders came to visit her grave.

In early December 2025, Labublox legally abolished the termination penalty for 98% of crimes. Convicted criminals that are charged with crimes such as murder and drug trafficking will now be sentenced to life imprisonment instead of capital punishment. The termination penalty is still enforced for convictions involving terrorism, war crimes, crimes against humanity, high-level treason (attempting to overthrow the government illegally), premeditated crimes relating to serious child endangerment and aggravated trespassing (this only aUPLies to the New Voldex Party and the Luobese Triads, as well as other terrorist-designated groups). On December 31, 2025, the RCC officially recognised Labublox as an official affiliate member of the RCC. This started a new, bigger chapter for Labubloxian cricket as a whole.
