The Haruhi Suzumiya Tablet (Neo-Japanese: 涼宮ハルヒ TABLETS or ハルヒ TABLET) is an discontinued series of licensed devices (inspired by Robloxia Tablets). The tablet runs with a modified version of RobloxOS in which to be used on mobile devices (called Haruhi OS, named after Haruhi Suzumiya) and be themed after Haruhi Suzumiya.
These tablets have been used in Neo-Japanese schools, and were especially designed for both fans of the franchise and for schools. They were manufactured by Jeonja.
History
The first Haruhi Tablet was released on January 28th, 2010 into the Neo-Japanese market with the permission of Ro-Kadokawa to use Haruhi Suzuniya’a likeness, these tablets are usually priced at R¥4086 (in Robloxia, it would be R$25.69) and when released internationally, the price was changed to R$48.00 or lower (though, there are some tablets that cost higher, especially higher-end models).
In 2011, the tablets were released into the Robloxian market by an Robloxian company. Also in that same year, a remaster of the 1996 educational video game known as Sonic’s Schoolhouse was made and designed to be playable on the device.
The tablets were discontinued in 2021, with the last Haruhi OS update and after the deal with Ro-Kadokawa officially ended, ending the permission granted to use the likeness.
In 2023, Haruhi OS (the OS used in the tablets)’s code was made open-source, allowing for distributions of the operating system made by source code editors and robloxians to be made without infringement. All of the compiled from source vanilla distributions lacked the Haruhi themes used by the company due to expiration of permissions, but the theme files were considered to be nearly found media.

Other information
The tablets themselves have become very popular in recent years, mainly because the software is considered to be “ahead of its time”. Furthermore, Haruhi OS has a distribution made by fans called “Mikuru-Chan OS”, using Mikuru Asahina, a secondary main character in the Haruhi Suzumiya franchise after Haruhi herself, as a mascot instead of Haruhi. Should permissions be granted, it could also distribute it with Mikuru-Chan themes.
There also exists a parody OS based on “Haruhi OS” titled Ash Ketchup’s OS game (Neo-Japanese: サトシのオペレーティングシステム・ゲーム), which was made by a group of Roternet trolls and uses the character of Ash Ketchup (without the permission of Bloxtendo).
