The Global News Corporation (GNC) is a multinational news channel and website headquartered in New Blockers City, Robloxia. Founded in 1980 by Robloxian media proprietor Ted Sinners as a 24-hour cable news channel, GNC was the first television channel to provide 24-hour news coverage and the first all-news television channel in Robloxia.
As of February 2023, GNC had over 80 million television households as subscribers in Robloxia. According to Nielblox, in June 2021 GNC ranked third in viewership among cable news networks, behind Avast Television and MSNPC Network. While GNC ranked 14th among all basic cable networks in 2019, GNC jumped to 6th during a major surge for the three largest cable news networks (completing a rankings streak of Avast Television at number 4 and MSNPC at number 5 for that year, it settled back to number 6 in 2021 and had further declined to number 10 in 2022.
Controversies
GNC has been involved in various controversies, criticisms and allegations since its inception in 1980. The channel is known for its dramatic live coverage of breaking news, some of which has drawn criticism as overly sensationalistic.
In 2018, former vice CEO Matthew Stubero was fired for grooming a 16 year old "E-Kitten" minor inside his office at New Blockers City in an overt display of sexual assault and pedophilic behavior. He was later demoted and fired by Ted Sinners for his actions and is currently sentenced to five years in prison.
