2020 Shooting of George Bloxord

On August 1, 2020, George Bloxord and his friends and family were traveling to Retropolis to attend his concert, which was taking place at a music hall there. At around 11:42 AM, Bloxord drove his vehicle to a Boom Gas Station, near Rohio State Route 19. Bloxord allegedly entered the gas station to purchase a slice of pizza and purchased a Bloxer Energy Drink, according to passengers of the SUV. CCTV captured Bloxord tripping numerous times and acting drunk. His father later stated that Bloxord had been doing this as a joke to his friend who was also present. At around 11:49 AM, when Bloxord exited the gas station, the clerk, Amanda Lynn Tuomi, made a call to 911 stating that there was a drunk person who had just entered the store, and had gotten back into their vehicle. However, she later stated in the call that she did not know if he was joking or not. At around 12:04 AM, Police Officer Derek Welles (who was 43) and his partner, Daniel Peterman (who was 23) pulled over the SUV that Bloxord was driving in, near a local grocery store. Bloxord was in the driver seat, his dad in the passenger, his friend, on the left backseat, his cousin, in the middle seat, and another female friend in the back right seat. The bodycam showed that Bloxord was being questioned by officer Peterman, who asked questions regarding drinking questions. In body cam, Bloxord is seen denying the claims, and makes a joke about the clerk, "She was stupid to think that then" After this, officer Welles attempted to make Bloxord step out the vehicle in order to do a breathalyzer test. However, Bloxord refused and stated, "Hell to the nah," "Why don't you preform one on yourself?" and "Bro I'm not drunk so I'm not taking it." After this, Welles would call two other police officers, Richard Lloyd, and Officer Donovan Perry. After Bloxord continued to resist police orders, Welles grabbed Bloxord, and attempted to cuff him. Peterman attempted to de-escalate the situation, but Welles proceeded to tase Bloxord after he kicked the officer's leg. Because of this, Bloxord fell on Welles, causing him to shoot Bloxord 6 times against the car. Bloxord fell against the vehicle and died six minutes later on the scene. His last words were, "GET OFF ME!", according to his father. His death later ended up causing the 2020 Retropolis Riots.
