Mallerd is a town located in West Birchland County, Bloxalberta. It is about 29 km from the town of Ropeace River and is known to be the begining of the Mackanzi Highway, or Bloxalberta Highway 35 to the Northwest Valley. It is about 41 km northeast of Granderoton.

History

The name Mallerd was named from NewNotAdriel's great grandfather, Mallerd Raisip, after he went to this area in 1954. He was known for being the Bloxalbertan Premier since Bloxalberta's creation in 1906. He retired in 1946. He died in 1958, just 1 year after the town was created.

Demographics

In the 2021 Bloxalberta Population Census, the population had 6,544 people, about -3% of the population in the main year.

Economy

The Town of Mallerd focuses on farming and increasing rural housing. It is a trade centre in the Northwestern Bloxalberta region.

The town has a hospital known as Mallerd Regional Hospital. It provides health through the northern areas of Mallerd and communities that are small.

Buses

The town is connected to the West Forestry Woods Route connected with the Trans-Bloxanada Highway. It is crossed by the Bloxanadian Coach Buses, which is avaliable from Prince Albert, Bloxcouver, and Ro-Montreal.

The town is served of the RBMP at the Mallerd Police Department.
