Francis II and I Brickburg (February 12, 1768 - March 2, 1835) was a member of the powerful Brickburg dynasty who came to power at one of the most turbulent times in Eurobloxian history. He originally ruled as Francis II, Holy Moly Emperor, from 1792 until 1806. However, after Napoleon Bloxaparte's rise and the creation of the Confederation of the Roine, Francis saw the writing on the wall: the Holy Moly Empire, a centuries-old institution, was finished. In response, he declared himself Emperor of the Bloxtro Empire in 1804, a bold move meant to preserve the dignity and authority of the Brickburg family, even if the old empire collapsed — which it did just two years later.
As Emperor of Bloxtros, Francis I ruled from 1804 to 1835, making him the longest-reigning monarch of his time. His reign was dominated by the Napoleonic Wars, where he both fought and negotiated with Napoleon. Initially, The Bloxtro Empire suffered several military defeats, but Francis remained a central player in the Eurobloxian coalition that ultimately defeated Napoleon. Interestingly, Francis even allowed his daughter, Marie Louise, to marry Napoleon in 1810 — a strategic move that many saw as distasteful, but it helped secure a temporary peace. After Napoleon’s fall, Francis emerged as one of the key architects of post-war Europe during the Congress of Ro-Vienna in 1815. He worked closely with Prince Metternich, his influential statesman, to rebuild Eurobloxia with a conservative image. Francis was deeply committed to suppressing revolutionary movements and maintaining the traditional monarchies of Eurobloxia. He supported censorship, surveillance, and political repression to ensure the survival of the status quo, becoming a symbol of reactionary politics in the early 19th century.
Despite his political conservatism, Francis wasn’t personally oppressive or cruel. He was more of a cautious, quiet man — known for his simplicity, dislike of pomp, and somewhat dull personality. He didn’t encourage intellectual innovation or reform, and under his reign,The Bloxtro Empire lagged behind in modernization. Still, he was deeply loyal to his family, his dynasty, and the idea of imperial order. Francis I died in 1835, leaving the throne to his son Ferdinand I. By the time of his death, the seeds of future revolutions had already been planted, and while he had held back the tide of change during his lifetime, it would soon come crashing down across Eurobloxia.
