Build Island is a confederal corporatist republic under a protectorate from Robloxia, located in the Telamon Ocean that has a population of 4.7 million. It consists of hundreds (the total number is currently unknown, but 457 islands have been officially identified and registered) of islands, all of which are privately owned except for one, being Build Island International Airport and a sea port on the same island, where citizens and immigrants arrive. Due to the 1820 Build Island bill, 449 islands are officially owned by individual Robloxians or corporations, who utilize the Build Island Ferry System to get visitors to their private islands, typically hosting hotels, restaurants, stores, or parks. Due to large amounts of storms and cloudy weather in parts of the archipelago, most islands are not able to be viewed from satellites, thus pushing "oldschool" exploration of the archipelago.
Formation
In 1813, Robloxia claimed the Build Island archipelago and sent a regiment of troops to guard it. In 1819, Governor Merely of Bloxington Island requested that Build Island would become a part of the state of Bloxington Island. However, he was told that because of its low land and no use to the government or Bloxington Island, it would be created as a territory where citizens could buy islands for low prices and create their own registered cities and buildings with fewer restrictions subject to the condition that all tax revenues collected by the cities would go to the state of Bloxington Island. However, the bill would be lost.
On September 9, 2020, the Build Island Bill was later found by a Robloxian and presented to the Robloxian Congress. It passed the Robloxian Congress and was signed by the President David Builderman Bascuzki, effectively declaring that Build Island will be granted autonomy under a confederate council full of Robloxian officials and under the control of the greater federal government of Robloxia, and all land except for the largest island would be privatized and sold. Citizens will be given fewer building restrictions (they only need to meet safety guidelines, federal law, and local island/representative laws).
Build Islands Archipelago Government
The government of the Build Island Archipelago is made up of a council located on the main central island. There are currently 150 Council members who represent their island(s). They pass laws similar to a Robloxian state, however certain laws force Robloxian federal law onto the entirety of Build Island.
The Council acts similar to the Robloxian Senate and House of Representatives, often meeting in the large Build Island National Court, a "grand courthouse" where sessions often occur to vote on a unified response to issues that arise in Build Island.
Because of the "laissez-faire" management of the economy and laws in Build Island, crime, illegal operations and traffickings occur on in the archipelago. This leads to most Council meetings being comprised of efforts to curb said crimes.
