Brick Bronze Pokemon Abridged (also referred to as “Brick Bronze the Series: Abridged Edition”) was an web series created by the Robloxian BloxTuber, “TheGreatestGamer84'’ in September 2, 2008. it is notable for using footage of the Brick Bronze anime franchise (Original until S&M), and making the episodes of all of those series significantly shorter (from 22 minutes to 11 (or 12) minutes) while adding humorous (and sometimes controversial) dialogue that was not in the original footage.
This webseries eventually became popular in the early 2010s, when clips from it started becoming memes due to the cynical humor used in the series (since it differed severely from the usual family-friendly tone of the original Brick Bronze series)
“Premise”
It is mostly the same as the original except that the main protagonist, Ash Ketchup is often depicted (in these parody videos) as a cynical young boy who does not want to be a Pokemon trainer (and is implied to had become one only because he wanted to leave his house) and his traveling companions are actually Robloxians who have to deal with his cynicism.
Controversy
Season 6 (which was a parody-dubbed version of Brick Bronze Pokemon XY) became controversial for mocking the source material and the treatment of Serena (one of the main characters in that specific series), since she was written out to be an “Yandere” and Serena fans did not like that portrayal because it was the polar opposite of what the original character was written as.
As a response, TheGreatestGamer84 deleted all Season 6 videos and now they are considered partially lost media (as only 26 episodes out of the 34 have been recovered)

Cancellation
The series would end in 2022 after TheGreatestGamer84 lost interest in making new episodes of it after declaring the series “embarrassing” and that he wanted to shift to making Gameplay videos again because he felt that the series’ humor would probably lead him to be “cancelled” by E - Doger users.
“After nearly 14 years of Brick Bronze Pokemon Abridged episodes, I’ve decided to effectively cancel the series due to me losing interest in doing so and because, I am deeply embarrassed for creating this series now that I’ve matured into an adult. not sure if the humor used in the series would adjust well to the modern era.” - TheGreatestGamer84, May 24th, 2022.
After this announcement, TheGreatestGamer84 would upload the following month to BloxTube on June 4th, 2022 titled “The End of a Adventure + Announcement” (a parody dub of the last episode of Brick Bronze Pokemon: Sun and Moon, "Thank You, Alola! The Journey Continues!”), the “+ Announcement” part of the title does not happen in the video until the end, when it was announced that TheGreatestGamer84 would move away from making “Abridged” content.
Trivia
- The Sinnoh era was skipped out entirely due to the fact that when TheGreatestGamer84 tried to upload the Sinnoh Abridged episodes. he couldn’t upload them due to an Copyright block, which lead to him skipping Sinnoh altogether.
- However, for the series’ 17th year anniversary he did end up uploading the Sinnoh episodes on his secondary channel (HaruhiSuzumiya548), though, it is not the original version and rather, a reconstructed version of it created using several files that had been on TheGreatestGamer84’s hard drive for almost 11 years (since the original had been created in 2012). Unfortunately, this means that the original version is considered permanently lost media.
- For the Kalos arc, TheGreatestGamer84 hired Jessie Grelle (at the time known as Josh Grelle), the main voice provider of Issei Hyoudou in the 2015 Rii U video game, High School DxD to voice Clemont (who in this series is written out to be a Otaku).
- Furthermore, an parody of Trip -Innocent of D- (the opening in the aforementioned game) was used in the ending credits of the series, being sung by Abridged Clemont’s voice provider.
- The series is notorious for being one of the most infamous Brick Bronze parodies.
